RapidEye 영상을 활용한 대형산불피해지의 온실가스 배출량 추정 (Estimation on Greenhouse Gases(GHGs) Emission of Large Forest Fire Area in 2013)

  • 본 연구는 RapidEye 영상을 활용하여 2013년 발생한 대형산불 피해지역(울주, 포항, 봉화)을 대상으로 온실가스 배출량 추정하였다. 온실가스 배출량 추정은 2006 IPCC(Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) 가이드라인에서 제시하는 추정식을 이용하였다. 본 연구에서는 최대 우도법을 기반으로 한 감독분류를 실시하여, 산불피해지역의 강도등급 및 피해면적을 산출하였으며, 현장정보와 비교하여 정확도 검증을 실시하였다. 산불피해 등급별 정확도 평가 결과는 평균적으로 전체정확도 73.93%과 Kappa 계수 0.67로 나타났다. 2013년 대형산불피해지의 온실가스 배출량 추정은 울주지역 $CO_2$ 63,260, CO 5.207, $CH_4$ 360, $N_2O$ 28.0, $NO_x$ $4.4g/kg^{-1}{\cdot}ha^{-1}$, 포항지역 $CO_2$ 28,675, CO 2.359, $CH_4$ 163, $N_2O$ 12.7, $NO_x$ $1.9g/kg^{-1}{\cdot}ha^{-1}$ 그리고 봉화지역 $CO_2$ 53,086, CO 1,655, $CH_4$ 114, $N_2O$ 23.5, $NO_x$ $3.6g/kg^{-1}{\cdot}ha^{-1}$로 나타났다.

Evaluating fire resistance of prestressed concrete bridge girders

  • This paper presents an approach for evaluating performance of prestressed concrete (PC) bridge girders exposed to fire. A finite element based numerical model for tracing the response of fire exposed T girders is developed in ANSYS. The analysis is carried out in three stages, namely, fire temperature calculation, cross sectional temperature evaluation, and then strength, deformation and effective prestress analysis on girders exposed to elevated temperatures. The applicability of the computer program in tracing the response of PC bridge girders from the initial preloading stage to failure stage, due to combined effects of fire and structure loading, is demonstrated through a case study, and validated by test data of a scaled PC box girder under ISO834 fire condition. Results from the case study show that fire severity has a significant influence on the fire resistance of PC T girders and hydrocarbon fire is most dangerous for the girder. The prestress loss caused by elevated temperature is about 10% under hydrocarbon fire till the girder failure, which can lead to the increase in deflection of the PC girder. The rate of deflection failure criterion is suggested to determine the failure of PC T girder under fire.

Ecological resilience of soil oribatid mite communities after the fire disturbance

  • This study investigated the impact of the fire disturbance and the pattern of recovery of soil dwelling oribatid mite communities with respect to the resilience from the fire disturbance. Oribatid mites are important decomposer animals of plant debris in soil with the feeding habits of saprophagy and mycophagy. Massive wild fire reduced soil oribatid mite abundance and diversity. The impact varied relative to the intensity of the disturbance. The proportion of the species common to the non-disturbed natural site increased as the time after the disturbance elapsed, which implying some degree of naturalness occurring in reorganization phase of the oribatid mite community. From the sites with different degree of fire impact, we found higher diversity in intermediately disturbed sites than in severely disturbed or non-disturbed site, supporting the intermediate disturbance hypothesis. Also this study showed that with differential degree of disturbance plots, resilience pattern after the disturbance can be explored even with shorter period research relative to the ecological succession of community.

표준화재곡선을 이용한 잔존부착강도 평가 간략방법 제안 (Simplified Evaluation Method for Residual Bond Strength of Reinforced Concrete Using Standard Fire Curve)

  • 화해를 입은 구조물의 안전성 확보에는 초기대응이 매우 중요기 때문에 신속한 의사결정이 필요하다. 본 논문에서는 화해를 입은 구조물의 이형철근과 콘크리트 간 잔존부착강도를 평가할 수 있는 간략화된 방법을 제시하였다. 제안된 방법은 화재강도 즉, 화재 중 최고노출 온도 뿐 아니라 화재지속시간도 고려할 수 있도록 하였다. 제안된 방법의 검증 및 비교를 위하여 화해를 입은 대구지하철 역사의 현장조사 결과를 인용하였으며, 해석결과 그 효용성을 확인하였다.

IoT개념을 활용한 중증도 분류 시스템에 관한 연구 (Research of IoT concept implemented severity classification system)

  • 본 연구에서는 재난현장 또는 일상에서 발생할 수 있는 다수사상자의 중증도 분류를 신속하고 정확하게 수행하기 위한 시스템을 설계하여 구현하였으며, 중증도 분류 알고리즘의 정확도뿐만 아니라 사용자 편의성 등 현장의 요구사항을 적극 반영하였다. 개발된 e-Triage System은 IoT개념을 활용하여 다양한 중증도 분류 알고리즘을 적용하였으며, 기존의 중증도 분류표의 단점을 극복하기 위하여 NFC 모듈 등 전자적 요소를 반영한 e-Triage Tag를 구현하였다. 앱으로 구현된 중증도 분류 알고리즘을 사용하여 신속하고 정확한 환자의 평가가 가능함을 입증하였고, 시인성을 위해 전자 중증도 분류 결과를 4가지 LED램프로 표출하였으며, 2차 분류를 통해 RTS 점수를 FND(Flexible Numeric Display)로 표출하였다.

숲가꾸기 산물의 적재형태에 따른 산불위험도 분석 (Analysis of forest fire danger rating on accumulation types of the leaving of thinning slash)

  • Nowaday, for the promotion of producing forest trees, production of excellent timbers, and build-up of public forest area, it is on the increase of the thinning-forest for artificial forest, natural forest, eco-friendly forest, and the forest for development and improvement of forest resources nationwide. Even though the thinning-forest is applied around 180,000ha every year, the quantity of collected/used products is only 18,000ha $(240,000m^3)$ which is 10% of the whole thinning-forest area. Meanwhile, some reports represent that the left products after thinning-forest might increase the severity of forest fire and the waste of resources. Therefore, this study focused on the analysis of correlation between the accumulated products after thinning-forest and forest fire, and providing a preparation plan for the forest fire.

Assessment of Drought on the Goseong-Sokcho Forest Fire in 2019 using Multi-year High-Resolution Synthetic Precipitation Data

  • The influence of drought has increased due to global warming. In addition, forest fires have occurred more frequently due to droughts and resulted in property losses and casualty. In this study, the effects of drought on Goseong-Sokcho Forest Fire in 2019 were analyzed using high-resolution synthetic precipitation data. In order to determine the severity of drought, the average, 20%tile and 80%ile values were calculated using the synthetic precipitation data of the past 30 years and compared with the current climatology. We have investigated the multi-year accumulated precipitation data to determine the persistence of drought. In Goseong-Sokcho forest fire case, the two-year cumulative synthetic precipitation data shows a similar value to the climate, but the three-year cumulative synthetic precipitation data was close to the 20%ile lines of the climate value. It may expose that the shortage of precipitation in 2017 had persisted until 2019, despite abundant precipitation during the summer in 2018. Therefore, Goseong-Sokcho forest fire might be spread more rapidly by drought which has been persisted since 2017.

Glasgow coma scale의 임상적 유용성 평가 - 중환자 중증도 분류도구 - (Clinical Usefulness of Critical Patient Severity Classification System(CPSCS) and Glasgow coma scale(GCS) for Neurological Patients in Intensive care units(ICU))

  • The tools that classify the severity of patients based on the prediction of mortality include APACHE, SAPS, and MPM. Theses tools rely crucially on the evaluation of patients' general clinical status on the first date of their admission to ICU. Nursing activities are one of the most crucial factors influencing on the quality of treatment that patients receive and one of the contributing factors for their prognosis and safety. The purpose of this study was to identify the goodness-of-fit of CPSCS of critical patient severity classification system(CPSCS) and Glasgow coma scale(GCS) and the clinical usefulness of its death rate prediction. Data were collected from the medical records of 187 neurological patients who were admitted to the ICU of C University Hospital. The data were analyzed through $x^2$ test, t-test, Mann-Whitney, Kruskal-Wallis, goodness-of-fit test, and ROC curve. In accordance with patients' general and clinical characteristics, patient mortality turned out to be statistically different depending on ICU stay, endotracheal intubation, central venous catheter, and severity by CPSCS. Homer-Lemeshow goodness-of-fit tests were CPSCS and GCS and the results of the discrimination test using the ROC curve were $CPSCS_0$,.734, $GCS_0$,.583, $CPSCS_{24}$,.734, $GCS_{24}$,.612, $CPSCS_{48}$,.591, $GCS_{48}$,.646, $CPSCS_{72}$,.622, and $GCS_{72}$,.623. Logistic regression analysis showed that each point on the CPSCS score signifies1.034 higher likelihood of dying. Applied to neurologically ill patients, early CPSCS scores can be regarded as a useful tool.

안전띠 착용 유무에 근거한 두 단계의 충돌 가혹도 수준을 갖는 충돌 판별 알고리즘 (Crash Discrimination Algorithm with Two Crash Severity Levels Based on Seat-belt Status)

  • Many car manufacturers have frequently adopted an aggressive inflator and a lower threshold speed for airbag deployment in order to meet an injury requirement for unbolted occupant at high speed crash test. Consequently, today's occupant safety restraint system has a weakness due to an airbag induced injury at low speed crash event. This paper proposes a new crash algorithm to improve the weakness by suppressing airbag deployment at low speed crash event in case of belted condition. The proposed algorithm consists of two major blocks-crash severity algorithm and deployment logic block. The first block decides crash severity with two levels by means of velocity and crash energy calculation from acceleration signal. The second block implemented by simple AND/OR logic combines the crash severity level and seat belt status information to generate firing commands for airbag and belt pretensioner. Furthermore, it can be extended to adopt additional sensor information from passenger presence detection sensor and safing sensor. A simulation using real crash data for a 1,800cc passenger vehicle has been conducted to verify the performance of proposed algorithm.
