Estimation method of heat flux at tube bank exposed to high temperature flue gas in large scale coal fired boilers (보일러 내부 고온가스에 노출된 전열 튜브에서의 열유속 평가 방법)

  • Most of the fossil power plants firing lower grade coals are challenged with maintaining good combustion conditions while maximizing generation and minimizing emissions. In many cases significant derate, availability losses and increase in unburned carbon levels can be attributed to poor combustion conditions as a result of poorly controlled local fuel and air distribution within the boiler furnace. The poor combustion conditions are directly related to the gas flow deviation in upper furnace and convection tube-bank but a less reported issue related to in large-scale oppose wall fired boilers. In order to develop a on-line combustion monitoring system and suggest an alternative heat flux estimation method at tube bank, which is very useful information for boiler design tool and blower optimizing system, field test was conducted at operating power boiler. During the field test the exhaust gases' temperature and tube metal temperature were monitored by using a spatially distributed sensors grid which located in the boiler's high temperature vestibule region. At these locations. the flue gas flow is still significantly stratified, and air in-leakage is minimal which enables tracing of poor combustion zones to specific burners and over-fire air ports. Test results showed that the flue gas monitoring method is more proper than metal temperature distribution monitoring for real time combustion monitoring because tube metal temp. distribution monitoring method is related to so many variables such as flue gas, internal flow unbalance, spray etc., Heat flux estimation at the tube bank with flue gas temp. and metal temp. data can be alternative method when tube drilling type sensor can't able to use.

  • A monitoring system was constructed to identify the cause of occurrence based on data on the analysis of the ignition factors of fermentation heat generated from loading waste. Universal Middleware was used to provide a real-time run-time environment for the configuration and speed of scenarios for each type of fire early warning. It is necessary to dynamically recognize the loading height and pressure of the loading waste, the drying of wood, batteries, and plastic waste, which are representative compositional wastes, and the carbonization changes on the surface. Therefore, this IoT situation recognition platform for analyzing low-temperature-fired fire possibility data was dynamically configured and presented.

  • Recently, switchboards for MV/LV distribution customers have been united and digitalized rapidly. This paper proposes the effective information visualization method for the data measured from cubicle switchboards for MV/LV distribution customers. We developed the algorithm that analyzes abundant data measured by switchboards and displays them to overall users, such as fire information index, power condition index, switchboard safety index, and power diminution index. Using a touch screen made users to operate it easily. User interface was also improved by taking graphic visualization. We guess the information visualization method suggested in this paper shows the new direction that heavy electrical equipments including switchboards are going to develop in the future.

  • Ad-hoc network is a multi-hop wireless network formed by a collection of mobile nodes without the aid of any establish infrastructure and this network can provide an extremely flexible method for establishing communications for fire, safety, rescue operations, battle field or other fields requiring rapidly deployable communications with survivable, efficient dynamic networking. Recently new expended mechanism is proposed as Ad-hoc relay system, so guarantee of QoS for multimedia applications is needed more and more. In this paper, we propose ARM based QoS Distribution Monitoring Mechanism to provide Quality of Service guarantees to multimedia application with MANET.

  • Since urban railway transit is one of the most essential transportation systems, its power facilities must ensure high reliability and safety. Currently, urban railway operating organizations perform TBM (Time Based Maintenance) on power facilities. However, in order to improve management efficiency and system safety, CBM (Condition Based Maintenance) is preferred. Among various power facilities, mold transformers has been chosen as the object of study since it is widely used for the purpose of minimizing volume and weight, and due to safety against fire. In this paper, various transformer failure cases due to electric, thermal, mechanical and environmental factors have been collected and analyzed. In addition, investigation on national and international condition based maintenance cases and the characteristics of sensors widely used for transformer monitoring has been performed to suggest the optimal condition based maintenance technique for urban railway systems.

  • To ensure the safety and functionality of a railroad bridge, maintaining the integrity of the bridge via continuous structural health monitoring is important. However, most structural integrity monitoring methods proposed to date are based on modal responses which require the extracting process and have limited availability. In this paper, the applicability of the existing damage identification method based on free-vibration reponses to time-domain deflection shapes due to moving train load is investigated. Since the proposed method directly utilizes the time-domain responses of the structure due to the moving vehicles, the extracting process for modal responses can be avoided, and the applicability of structural health evaluation can be enhanced. The feasibility of the presented method is verified via a numerical example of a simple plate girder bridge.

  • The security issue in urban transit system has been widely considered as the common matters after the fire accident at Daegu subway station. The safe urban transit system is highly demanded because of the vast number of daily passengers, and it is one of the most challenging projects. We introduced a test model for integrated security system for urban transit system and built it at a subway station to demonstrate its performance. This system consists of cameras, sensor network and central monitoring software. We described the smart camera functionality in more detail. The proposed smart camera includes the moving objects recognition module, video analytics, video encoder and server module that transmits video and audio information.

  • An offshore plant exposes environmental threats which are typhoon, tidal wave and etc., also the offshore plant exposes artificial threats by fire and collision of ship. In this paper, we design an IT conversion remote monitoring system for protection from environmental and artificial threats using camera, AtoN AIS. The system helps to monitor possible situations around offshore plant remotely. Therefore, we handle the situations appropriately and manage the offshore plant safely.

  • The risk of health impairment due to poor ventilation, fire and explosion by inflammable materials, and other unintended occurrences is always present in dangerous workplaces such as manholes, underground septic tanks, storage tanks and confined areas. Therefore, it a system which can monitor harmful working environment through sensors in workplace on a realtime basis and keep workers safe from the risk is needed. This paper has attempted to design an inference engine to monitor harmful environments in the workplace. The proposed inference engine has a rule-based system structure using JESS. This system is not confined to a particular computing platform and is easily interlocked with OSGi-based middleware.

  • In this paper, through the development of a smart panel (LCD kiosk) controller, contents to develop a system that can be operate in a desired environment by operating the window control and ventilation facilities according to the automatic controller operation based on the set values such as temperature, humidity, sunlight, and rainfall. In particular, the MQTT protocol-based sensor module can be directly manufactured and applied at any time based on various communication and power sources such as wireless, wired, and PLC (power line communication) to obtain the desired data, as well as fire, power failure, and intrusion in the house. It is also a system that enables operation and monitoring from a remote location based on the cloud environment by connecting sensors. Kiosks are currently being used in many places, and the demand for them is on the rise, and an active influx of young people can be expected through environmental improvement. It is expected to increase interest and understanding for improvement.
