  • In maned ship, crews may have risks as they manage damage control system in IPMS in damage situations such as fire in a ship. So the application of unmaned autonomous systms can reduce the number of boarding crews and attribute to safe marine transportation. The paper suggests an intelligent system of the fire fighting control using fuzzy logic in Integrated Platform Management System which can take measures against fire situation of a ship excluding unnecessary warnings with undamaged situations. The system here detected the fire more accurately and adopted more appropriate measures according to ship status compared with conventional systems. Of all, a reduction of false detection of fires was noted.

  • 산불 발생 시 산불현장에 투입되는 지상진화대의 안전한 작업유도와 산불 현장 정보를 신속히 파악하기 위해 진화업무를 수행하는 지상진화대의 위치를 실시간으로 모니터링하는 것은 필수적이다. 본 연구에서는 CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) 데이터 망을 이용하여 GPS로부터 수신되는 지상진화대의 위치를 실시간으로 전송하여 지상진화대의 정확한 위치탐지와 이동경로를 모니터링 함으로서 안전한 진화작업 유도와 산불 현장정보를 제공하고자 한다.

Electrical Fire Cause Diagnosis System based on Fuzzy Inference

  • This paper aims at the development of an knowledge base for an electrical fire cause diagnosis system using the entity relation database. The relation database which provides a very simple but powerful way of representing data is widely used. The system focused on database construction and cause diagnosis can diagnose the causes of electrical fires easily and efficiently. In order to store and access to the information concerned with electrical fires, the key index items which identify electrical fires uniquely are derived out. The knowledge base consists of a case base which contains information from the past fires and a rule base with rules from expertise. To implement the knowledge base, Access 2000, one of DB development tools under windows environment and Visual Basic 6.0 are used as a DB building tool. For the reasoning technique, a mixed reasoning approach of a case based inference and a rule based inference has been adopted. Knowledge-based reasoning could present the cause of a newly occurred fire to be diagnosed by searching the knowledge base for reasonable matching. The knowledge-based database has not only searching functions with multiple attributes by using the collected various information(such as fire evidence, structure, and weather of a fire scene), but also more improved diagnosis functions which can be easily wed for the electrical fire cause diagnosis system.

LSTM-based Early Fire Detection System using Small Amount Data

  • Despite the continuous advancement of science and technology, fire accidents continue to occur without decreasing over time, so there is a constant need for a system that can accurately detect fires at an early stage. However, because most existing fire detection systems detect fire in the early stage of combustion when smoke is generated, rapid fire prevention actions may be delayed. Therefore we propose an early fire detection system that can perform early fire detection at a reasonable cost using LSTM, a deep learning model based on multi-gas sensors with high selectivity in the early stage of decomposition rather than the smoke generation stage. This system combines multiple gas sensors to achieve faster detection speeds than traditional sensors. In addition, through window sliding techniques and model light-weighting, the false alarm rate is low while maintaining the same high accuracy as existing deep learning. This shows that the proposed fire early detection system is a meaningful research in the disaster and engineering fields.

  • 산불 현장 인근 주민들은 산불의 진행 상황을 파악할 수 있는 정보 부족으로 언론정보와 국가의 대피명령에만 의존하게 되어 불안감이 높아진다. 따라서 산불 발생 시 화재의 진행 상황을 알 수 없었던 불편함을 파악하고 이를 해결하고자 한다. 이는 열적외선 위성영상자료(NASA FIRMS, Fire Information for Resource Management System)의 시스템 인터페이스(API)와 기상자료를 사용하여 산불의 진행상황과 비산물의 확산 정보를 확인 할 수 있도록 하며, 최종적으로 본 연구의 결과물은 GIS기반 시각화를 포함하는 Web을 통해 제공함으로써 주민 입장의 산불상황시 대피를 위한 의사결정 참고 정보를 제공하고자 한다.

Forest Fire Risk Zonation in Madi Khola Watershed, Nepal

  • Fire, being primarily a natural phenomenon, is impossible to control, although it is feasible to map the forest fire risk zone, minimizing the frequency of fires. The spread of a fire starting in any stand in a forest can be predicted, given the burning conditions. The natural cover of the land and the safety of the population may be threatened by the spread of forest fires; thus, the prevention of fire damage requires early discovery. Satellite data and geographic information system (GIS) can be used effectively to combine different forest-fire-causing factors for mapping the forest fire risk zone. This study mainly focuses on mapping forest fire risk in the Madikhola watershed. The primary causes of forest fires appear to be human negligence, uncontrolled fire in nearby forests and agricultural regions, and fire for pastoral purposes which were used to evaluate and assign risk values to the mapping process. The majority of fires, according to MODIS events, occurred from December to April, with March recording the highest occurrences. The Risk Zonation Map, which was prepared using LULC, Forest Type, Slope, Aspect, Elevation, Road Proximity, and Proximity to Water Bodies, showed that a High Fire Risk Zone comprised 29% of the Total Watershed Area, followed by a Moderate Risk Zone, covering 37% of the total area. The derived map products are helpful to local forest managers to minimize fire risks within the forests and take proper responses when fires break out. This study further recommends including the fuel factor and other fire-contributing factors to derive a higher resolution of the fire risk map.

전기화재 원인진단을 위한 사례기반 시스템 구축 (Construction of Case-based System for the Cause Diagnosis of an Electrical Fires)

  • 본 연구는 객체 관계형 DB를 이용한 전기화재 원인을 진단할 수 있는 사례기반 시스템을 개발하였다. 시스템은 간편하고 그리고 효율적으로 DB를 구축 및 전기화재의 원인 진단에 중점을 두고 있다. 전기화재와 관련된 정보를 저장하고 접근하기 위해서 전기화재를 분별할 수 있는 주요한 항목들을 도출하였다. 사례기반 시스템은 과거의 전기화재 사례로부터 정보를 추출하여 구성하고, 새롭게 발생된 화재의 원인은 패턴매칭을 통해 사례기반 DB를 검색함으로써 진단될 수 있다. 사례기반 시스템은 수집된 다양한 정보를 이용하여 다중 속성에 대한 검색 기능뿐만 아니라 원인진단을 쉽게 사용될 수 있도록 향상된 진단 기능을 갖고 있다.

  • Today, the basic problem of functional safe management of Korean Disaster Control system was separately administrated 33 acts that are relating to safe management in 13 ministries. Because of the facts that the fire service is not provided practically, the control system and risk management for safe administration are not operated, the information can not be shared with each other, and the various laws have the lacks of linkage, the National Safe System was appeared unsteady. The roles and functions of fire service have started with restriction to operate structurally and institutionally, which operational structure of fire service is becoming weak. As a result, the federal and local fire organizations have not reached yet to the institutionalization and the local fire service agencies have bias with the task regarding the fire service because of the relation between organizational structure and the local fire agency. With the enforcement of the federal and local fire system, professionality and autonomy for making policy, and dealing with changes of fire service positively, the national fire service on the policy performance can be established. Promotion of research and development and education training to strengthen innovation in technology and competition in fire industry will contribute to the firmly establishment of control system to prevent from fire, flood, terror and national disaster. This article proposed that (a) the established law and administration, agency are required efforts to effectively operate fire service system; (b) the national fire service agency, national college of fire, national institute of science fire, and national fire service hospital should be early established to make firmly policy to operate effectively and practically. These kinds of innovational acts are known the best ways of operating solid policy of national fire service system.

Simulation of Fire Evacuation Induction System Using Smartphone Navigation Application

  • 본 연구는 스마트폰 내비게이션 애플리케이션을 이용한 화재 대피 유도 시스템의 모의 실험 연구이다. 실증 시나리오 시뮬레이션은 한국디자인 진흥원 K도 C시 소재 6층에서 화재가 발생한 것을 가정하였다. 본 연구는 화재 발생 시 네비게이션 애플리케이션을 이용하여 정보 시스템의 효율성을 검증하기 위한 것이다. 실증 시나리오 시뮬레이션에서는 K도 C시에 소재한 한국산업디자인진흥원에서 6층에서 화재가 발생한 것으로 추정했다. K 대학교 응급구조학과 3학년 학생 80명이 참여했다. 네비게이션 애플리케이션을 이용한 시연 시뮬레이션 실험 결과, 화재 상황에서 대피 안내가 이뤄진 경우보다 대피 시간이 빠른 것으로 나타났다. 실증 시나리오 시뮬레이션 시행 전후에 화재 예방 시스템 및 화재 예방 의식의 필요성이 제기됨에 따라, 실험 후 화재 예방 시스템 및 화재 예방 의식의 필요성이 증대되었다. 비상계단 진입과정에서 계단실의 안전 상황에 대한 정보를 앱으로 제공한다면 도움이 된다. 사무실에 앉아 APP을 통해 영상물 등 가상 대피훈련을 제공 받는 것이 바람직하다. 실증 시나리오 시뮬레이션 결과 화재대피 네비게이션 어플리케이션을 경함하는 것만으로도 화재예방 시스템 필요성 및 화재 예방인식 향상에 도움이 되며, VR 시뮬레이션 개발에 기초자료를 제공 할 것이다.
