소방공무원의 방화복 착용 후 단계별 운동강도 변화 시 의복 내 온도·습도·발한량 차이 (The change in temperature·humidity·perspiration of fire suit when applying phased intensive exercises to fire fighter wearing fire suit)

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the change in temperature humidity perspiration of fire suit when applying phased intensive exercises to fire fighter wearing fire suit. For this study, three male fire fighters took basic physical test and performed 10 minute phased intensive exercises -exercise intensity I (30%VO2max), exercise intensity II (45%VO2max), exercise intensity III (60%VO2max) based on maximum oxygen consumption (VO2max)- wearing fire suit (helmet, boots, air respirator) in treadmill and took a rest. The result of study shows that the temperature in the suit elevated during stabilization period after each exercise intensity, humidity elevated as exercise intensity increased, perspiration elevated as exercise intensity increased. This study indirectly ascertained the fire suit's physiological change in fire fighters during field activities.

소방용 보호장구의 무게가 신체활동능력에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Weight of Fire-protective Equipment for Physical Activity Ability)

  • 본 연구에서는 소방용 보호장구의 무게가 소방공무원의 신체활동능력에 미치는 영향을 조사하여 소방공무원의 안전을 위한 기초자료 제공을 목적으로 하며 연구에서 얻어진 결과를 제시하면 다음과 같다. 최대 지친상태 도달시간은 소방용 보호장구의 무게와 같은 웨이트 자켓을 입은 경우가 체육복을 착용한 경우보다 18.8% 짧게 나타났다. 최대산소섭취량($VO_2max$)은 체육복을 착용한 경우가 웨이트 자켓을 입고 신체활동을 수행할 때보다 17.6% 증가하였다. 최대심박수(HRmax)는 체육복을 착용한 경우가 웨이트 자켓을 입고 신체활동을 수행할 때보다 5.4% 높게 나타났다.

  • To develope an efficient fire fighter’s uniform for the fire fighting work and body protection, this study examined the regulations of fire lighter’s uniform and surveyed the actual wearing conditions, satisfaction degree, preferred color and design others. The results are as follows; 1. As for the satisfaction degree, the degree was normal in ordinary, low in working uniform and heat-proof uniform and very low in water-proof uniform about its design, size, color and materials. 2. As for the color, red was preferred for the working uniform and water-proof uniform. Blue, yellow and green was preferred next for corking uniform and yellow and blue for water-proof uniform. 3. As for the design, fire fighters wanted partial revision of the present uniform. They preferred stretchy training wear style and overact style in order. For the water-proof uniform, they preferred hip-length suit and pants and next to it they liked flee-length suit, waist belt and overact in order. 4. As for the regulations of the uniform, they wanted some addition in casual uniform, water-proof pants and water-proof gloves, and some deletion in the thermal barrier of water-proof uniform and ordinary uniform. 5. As for the distribution of the uniforms, the use of coupons was highly preferred.

Water-blocking Asphyxia of N95 Medical Respirator During Hot Environment Work Tasks With Whole-body Enclosed Anti-bioaerosol Suit

  • Background: During hot environment work tasks with whole-body enclosed anti-bioaerosol suit, the combined effect of heavy sweating and exhaled hot humid air may cause the N95 medical respirator to saturate with water/sweat (i.e., water-blocking). Methods: 32 young male subjects with different body mass indexes (BMI) in whole-body protection (N95 medical respirator + one-piece protective suit + head covering + protective face screen + gloves + shoe covers) were asked to simulate waste collecting from each isolated room in a seven-story building at 27-28℃, and the weight, inhalation resistance (Rf), and aerosol penetration of the respirator before worn and after water-blocking were analyzed. Results: All subjects reported water-blocking asphyxia of the N95 respirators within 36-67 min of the task. When water-blocking occurred, the Rf and 10-200 nm total aerosol penetration (Pt) of the respirators reached up to 1270-1810 Pa and 17.3-23.3%, respectively, which were 10 and 8 times of that before wearing. The most penetration particle size of the respirators increased from 49-65 nm before worn to 115-154 nm under water-blocking condition, and the corresponding maximum size-dependent aerosol penetration increased from 2.5-3.5% to 20-27%. With the increase of BMI, the water-blocking occurrence time firstly increased then reduced, while the Rf, Pt, and absorbed water all increased significantly. Conclusions: This study reveals respirator water-blocking and its serious negative impacts on respiratory protection. When performing moderate-to-high-load tasks with whole-body protection in a hot environment, it is recommended that respirator be replaced with a new one at least every hour to avoid water-blocking asphyxia.

  • This study aimed to develop a visually differentiated quarantine suit design for giving 119 paramedics comfort to work and psychological stability and to awaken awareness without fear or pressure of the public through literature review and practical research. Basic research was conducted on firefighting uniforms and quarantine suits in Korea and abroad, focusing on domestic and foreign related literature. An interview survey was conducted to identify the current status, problems, and preferences of the design. Research subjects were eight dispatched paramedics and two executives in Seoul and Gwangju. The survey period was from September 15, 2022 to October 10, 2022. Interviews were conducted through phone calls. Results of this study were as follows. Most of the quarantine suits currently worn were Level D style ready-made clothes without coverall patterns. The current quarantine suit was designed without reflecting the symbolism of the National Fire Agency. They were wearing a generous size without having to think about the fit. Most of these quarantine suits were white. In addition, the quarantine suit could not be equipped with a camera for the safety of paramedics. After identifying improvements based on results of the above interview analysis, the following quarantine suit design was proposed. First, it would be differentiated from other institutions by designing suits with symbolism. Second, the convenience of size, camera equipment, and better breathability and style than Level D should be considered. Based on these results, a total of five quarantine suits were designed.

  • 주택의 경우에는 소방법에서 제외 대상으로 되어 있어 화재가 발생하더라도 초기 소화에 골든타임을 놓쳐 대부분 인명사고로 이어지고 있다. 이처럼 주택에서 화재와 사망자가 많이 발생하고 있어 소방법을 개정하여 정부에서는 2017년부터 단독 주택에도 소화기를 의무적으로 비치하도록 하였다. 소방청 2018년 주택용 기초 소방시설 설치 실태조사 자료에 의하면 전체 비치율이 34.8%에 불과하다. 소화기는 화재 시에는 꼭 필요한 기구이지만 가정집에서는 기피 대상으로 생각하고 있다. 투박하고 빨간 색상으로 되어 있어 집안 분위기와 어울리지 않기 때문이다. 이제 소화기도 평상시에는 장식품과 팬시용품처럼 집안에 비치해 두다가 화재가 발생하면 화재를 진압할 수 있도록 심플하면서도 디자인이 다양한 소화기가 있어야 한다. 집안 어디에 두어도 장식물처럼 어울릴 수 있는 제품이라면 소비자들의 구매력을 향상시킬 수 있는 동기부여가 될 수 있다. 이제는 다양한 디자인으로 심플한 소화기가 개발되도록 관련업체의 디자인 개발이 실질적으로 이루어져 상품화를 기대한다.

  • 본 연구는 기존 소방훈련의 문제점을 극복하고, 화재대응능력을 향상시키기 위한 실효성 있는 소방훈련시스템을 구축하고자 수행되었다. 무각본 소방훈련 평가시스템은 계획된 시나리오 없이 훈련을 진행하면서 정량화된 훈련결과를 실시간으로 도출할 수 있어 현재의 훈련수준을 객관화시킬 수 있다는 장점이 있다. 이를 위해 IoT센서 기반의 훈련평가시스템을 구축하였으며 대상처 맞춤형 훈련이 가능하도록 구성하였다. 또한 현장훈련테스트를 통해 평가시스템의 적용성을 검토하여 정량화된 결과를 도출하였다. 이러한 평가시스템을 통해 소방훈련을 체계화, 정량화할 수 있으며 훈련자의 소방안전의식 제고 및 실질적 화재대응능력 향상에 기여할 것이라 판단된다.

소방 방화복 교차오염 저감 및 관리체계 개선을 위한 델파이 연구 (Delphi Study on the Reduction of Cross-contamination and Improvement of Management System on Firefighting Protection Suit)

  • Objectives: This study evaluates and recommends the priority of policy implementation to improve the fire protection clothing management system used by firefighters and the reduction of cross-contamination from contaminated clothing at the scene of a fire. Methods: It consisted of 7 experts and conducted three interviews and two modified Delphi surveys. Through the results of previous research and interviews with experts, a plan to reduce cross-contamination of fire suits and improve the management system was first derived. An improvement plan was presented in the four areas including resources, management, fire protection related work, and laws and regulations, and the priority of policy implementation was derived by analyzing the importance and practicality of the policy at the same time. Results: As a result of the analysis, the first priority was education on the health effects of pollutants at the disaster scene for firefighters, and the second priority was the addition of SOP for the primary decontamination of on-scene personal protective equipment in preparation for the health effects of the disaster scene, and education for fire suppression and rescue workers. The next step was to improve the management system of personal protective equipment such as fire suits and develop a training course for systematic operation. Conclusions: This findings could be used in the implementation of mid- to long-term firefighting policies for the systematic operation and establishment of a systematic management system for personal protective equipment such as fire protective suits.

계층적분석기법을 통한 공동주택의 방화문 기능 개선에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Fire Protection Door Performance in Apartment Houses through Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP))

  • 연구목적: 본 연구는 건설에 따른 하자보수 소송이 빈번히 발생하고 있는 공동주택 방화문 성능에 대한 문제점과 기능개선의 우선순위를 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구방법: 연구를 위하여 방화문의 설계 및 시공 관련 전문가를 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하고 그 결과를 계층적분석기법(AHP)를 이용하여 분석하였다. 연구결과: 분석결과 2계층에서는 '방화구획 설치기준 강화' 28%, '설계기술 강화' 19.5%,'시공기술 강화' 19.3% 의 순이었으며, 3계층에서는 '바닥면적별 설치기준 강화' 11.8%, '내화구조 기준강화' 9.9%의 순으로 개선에 대한 우선순위로 분석되었다. 결론: 본 연구를 통해 화재시 거주자들의 생명과 직결되는 방화문의 안전성능에 대한 문제점을 인식하고 전문가들이 생각하는 기술적, 정책적 개선사항을 고려한 제도적 개선방안이 마련되어야 할 것이다.

A Case Study of Disaster Accidents at Construction Site Based on PDCA Theory

  • This study is significant in determining the reduction of safety accidents by applying PDCA's theory by subdividing it into a case analysis technique for construction sites by PDCA's theory. For this study, accidents accounted for the largest proportion of each type of disaster in the construction site were considered, and safety accidents were reduced through the PDCA theory through prior research. The analysis method of this study derived improvement plans by applying PDCA techniques to plan, implement, confirm, review, and improve disaster accidents at construction sites. The conclusions of this study are as follows. In the plan, first of all, measures shall be taken to prepare a safety management plan, to verify the implementation of the plan, and to verify the degree of implementation by the field manager. In the implementation, first of all, it is necessary to introduce a safety education history system to strengthen the safety education curriculum to suit the site, as long-term work is impossible for field workers depending on field conditions. First of all, it is necessary to strengthen the installation of safety facilities, including "work scaffolding" and "conducting prevention facilities" at construction sites. In management review and improvement, the risk assessment system for construction sites needs to be expanded first°.
