유한체 GF(2m)상의 낮은 지연시간의 AB2 곱셈 구조 설계 (Design of Low-Latency Architecture for AB2 Multiplication over Finite Fields GF(2m))

  • Efficient arithmetic design is essential to implement error correcting codes and cryptographic applications over finite fields. This article presents an efficient $AB^2$ multiplier in GF($2^m$) using a polynomial representation. The proposed multiplier produces the result in m clock cycles with a propagation delay of two AND gates and two XOR gates using O($2^m$) area-time complexity. The proposed multiplier is highly modular, and consists of regular blocks of AND and XOR logic gates. Especially, exponentiation, inversion, and division are more efficiently implemented by applying $AB^2$ multiplication repeatedly rather than AB multiplication. As compared to related works, the proposed multiplier has lower area-time complexity, computational delay, and execution time and is well suited to VLSI implementation.

  • 주기가 $p^n-1$인 p진 수열은 부호이론, CDMA와 같은 통신시스템과 암호체계 등 많은 분야에서 폭넓게 응용되고 있다. 이러한 수열에 대한 상호상관관계에 대한 분석은 p진 수열의 연구에 있어 매우 중요한 문제이다. 본 논문에서는 유한체 위에서의 방정식 $(x+1)^d=x^d+1$의 해와 관련지어 p진 수열의 상호상관관계를 분석한다.

Element free formulation for connecting sub-domains modeled by finite elements

  • Two methods were developed for analyzing problems with two adjacent sub-domains modeled by different kinds of elements in finite element method. Each sub-domain can be defined independently without the consideration of equivalent division with common nodes used for the interface. These two methods employ an individual interface to accomplish the compatibility. The MLSA method uses the moving least square approximation which is the basic formulation for Element Free Galerkin Method to formulate the interface. The displacement field assumed by this method does not pass through nodes on the common boundary. Therefore, nodes can be chosen freely for this method. The results show that the MLSA method has better approximation than traditional methods.

The Numerical Analysis of Jeju Harbor Flow Considering Effect of Seasonal Wind

  • The effect of seasonal wind on the tidal circulation in Jeju harbor was examined by using a numerical shallow water model. A finite element for analyzing shallow water flow is presented. The Galerkin method is employed for spatial discretization. Two step explicit finite element scheme is used to discretize the time function, which has advantage in problems treating large numbers of elements and unsteady state. The numerical simulation is compared with three cases; Case 1 does not consider the effect of wind, Case 2 and Case 3 consider the effect of summer and winter seasonal wind, respectively. According to result considering effect of seasonal wind, velocity of current vector shows slightly stronger than that of case 1 in the flow field. It can be concluded that the present method is a useful and effective tool in tidal current analysis.

원통형 확산기를 사용한 전자파 잔향실내의 전기장 분포특성 (The Characteristics of Electric Field Distributions in a Reverberation Chamber using Cylindrical Diffuser)

  • 본 논문은 원통형 확산기를 사용한 전자파 잔향실내의 전기장 분포에 관하여 다루었다. $1{\sim}3$ GHz 주파수 대역의 QRD(Quadratic Residue Diffuser)와 원통형 확산기(Cylindrical Diffuser)를 설계 후 각각의 전기장 분포 특성을 비교하였다. 전기장 분포 특성 및 전기장 균일도를 조사하기 위해 FDTD(Finite-Difference Time-Domain) 수치 해석 방법을 사용하였으며, 2 GHz에서 수치해석 결과 원통형 확산기를 사용하였을 경우 기존의 QRD를 사용한 경우에 비하여 표준편차와 공차는 각각 0.11 dB, 0.43 dB 개선되었고, 전기장 세기는 QRD의 36.6 dBmV/m보다 높은 43.2 dBmV/m로 나타났으며, 편파 특성면에서도 QRD보다 개선되었음을 확인 할 수 있었다. 따라서 원통형 확산기를 사용한 전자파 잔향실이 소형 전자기기의 전자파 장해 및 복사 내성 측정을 위한 대용시험 시설로 사용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.

Design and Analysis for Loss Reduction of High-Speed Permanent Magnet Motor using a Soft Magnetic Composite

  • Soft magnetic composites (SMCs) are especially suitable for the construction of low-cost, high-performance motors with 3-D magnetic fields. The main advantages of SMCs is that the iron particles are insulated by the surface coating and adhesive used for composite bonding, the eddy-current loss is much lower than that in laminated steels, especially at higher frequencies, and the hysteresis loss becomes the dominant component of core losses. These properties enable machines to operate at higher frequencies, resulting in reduced machine size and weight. In this paper, 3-D topologies are proposed that enable the application of SMCs to effectively reduce losses in high-speed permanent magnet (PM) motors. In addition, the electromagnetic field characteristics of the motor topologies are evaluated and compared using a non-linear finite element method (FEM) based on 3-D numerical analysis, and the feasibility of the motor designs is validated.

유한 및 무한고장 지수파우어 NHPP 소프트웨어 신뢰성모형에 대한 비교 연구 (The Comparative Study for Software Reliability Model Based on Finite and Infinite Failure Exponential Power NHPP)

  • 소프트웨어 고장분석을 위한 비동질적인 포아송과정에서 결함당 고장발생률이 상수이거나, 단조 증가 또는 단조 감소하는 패턴을 가질 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 결함의 기대값을 가정하는 유한고장소프트웨어 NHPP모형과 수리시점에서도 고장이 발생할 상황을 반영하는 무한고장 NHPP모형들을 비교 제시하였다. 소프트웨어 신뢰성분야에서 많이 사용되는 지수파우어분포에 근거한 유한고장과 무한고장 소프트웨어 신뢰성모형에 대한 비교문제를 제시하였다. 그 결과 유한고장모형이 무한고장모형보다 효율적으로 나타났다. 그리고 모수추정법은 최우추정법을 이용하였다. 이 연구를 통하여 소프트웨어 개발자들은 소프트웨어 고장현상을 파악하는데 어느 정도 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 사료된다.

Study on the characteristics of magnetic field distribution in AC superconducting generator using normalized data

  • AC Superconducting Generators (ACSG) are featured by 3D magnetic flux distribution, which decreases in the direction of axis. For this reason, when ACSG is optimal designed, 3D magnetic field analysis is required. This paper proposes 2D Finite Element Analysis (FEA) results normalized by 3D FEA according to the position of armature coil and the ratio of field coil width to axial length in order to reduce the analysis time. By using the proposed data, the reasonable 3D FEA results of ACSG can be only predicted by 2D FEA results. The validity of the 3D FEA results is verified by comparison with the experimental results of 30kVA superconducting synchronous generator.

유한요소기법을 이용한 동공해석과 공용수명 예측기법 연구 (A study on voided-area analysis and remaining life prediction using the finite element method for pavement structures)

  • OBJECTIVES : The objective of this research is to determine the integrity of pavement structures for areas where voids exist. Furthermore, we conducted the study of voided-area analysis and remaining life prediction for pavement structures using finite element method. METHODS : To determine the remaining life of the existing voided areas under asphalt concrete pavements, field and falling weight deflectometer (FWD) tests were conducted. Comparison methods were used to have better accuracy in the finite element method (FEM) analysis compared to the measured surface displacements due to the loaded trucks. In addition, the modeled FEM used in this study was compared with well-known software programs. RESULTS : The results show that a good agreement on the analyzed and measured displacements can be obtained through comparisons of the surface displacement due to loaded trucks. Furthermore, the modeled FEM program was compared with the available pavement-structure software programs, resulting in the same values of tensile strains in terms of the thickness of asphalt concrete layers. CONCLUSIONS : The study, which is related to voided-area analysis and remaining life prediction using FEM for pavement structures, was successfully conducted based on the comparison between our methods and the sinkhole grade used in Japan.

Study on Pulp Fibers and Paper Morphology by ESEM and LTSEM

  • The ESEM could be used in investigating the fibrous networks developed during handsheet-forming processes with the exception of the stages relating to the actual dispersion of the fibers and the drying of formed sheets. Also the cross-sectional images of swollen fibers were generated with the ESEM but the information given by the images was rarely fresh compared to the CLSM images. The LTSEM was extremely useful in generating images of the microfibrillar structure of a wet fiber with great resolution. However, pretreatment required in the LTSEM chamber was somewhat tedious due to the time consumed in sublimation of ice and sputter coating. For observation of lamellar structure of a hydrated fiber, the LTSEM exhibited greatly detailed structure with high resolution. Finally ESEM and LTSEM should be used in a finite field such as observation of surface morphology in detail.
