  • The energy levels are very important to investigate properties of organic dye materials. These values of energy levels can be calculated and compared with absorption spectra, cyclic voltammetric measurement and computer simulative calculation. In this study, absorption and emission changes were observed by complexation between rhodamine 6G based dye and mercury. This is related to spirolactam ring system of rhodamine 6G based dye. According to structural change of this dye, HOMO and LUMO energy levels were investigated and determined by their values with different approaches.

  • The colorants of kale powders were optimally extracted using an 1:1 mixture solvent of ethanol and DMSO at 105℃ for 30 minutes obtaining a high yield of 359.7㎍/mL chlorophylls. Low color fastness of the dyed fabrics with the extracts, particularly against washing and solar radiation, can be overcome by the combined treatments of chitosan, heat setting and tannic acid. Washing fastness to color change was improved from rating 1-2 up to 5 due to the enhanced electrostatic interactions between the colorants and the positive glucosamine unit of the chitosan in the cationized cotton. In addition, the tannic acid treatment contributed to the additional increase in color fastness after the sequential treatments of chitosan pretreatment, dyeing and heat setting.

  • It was studied in this article how the flexural strength of bare silicon chips is influenced by adopting dual wafer back-lapping process. The experimental results showed that an additional finishing process after the conventional grinding process improves the flexural strength of bare chips by more than 2-fold. In particular, this work showed that the proper removal of the grinding marks$(Ra=0.1\;{\mu}m)$existing on the wafer back-surface resulting from the grinding process significantly contiributes to the enhancement of chip strength.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop a cultural products design of korean image using fabrics. The study is carry out in literature research methods and make sample product. We examine existing researches about cultural product design development to understand developed items, materials, and design directions. The brainstorming method and the established literature researches were used to obtain the design components of Korean image. A cultural products design was developed into the decorative structural details. The results can be summarized as follows: Korean image is pure, passive, gentle, small, and lasting life-force at weeds and wild flowers. Korean form is rounded curve and soft silhouette as streamy, not exaggerate. Korean color is not a finishing treatment, non-dyed natural color, or pastel, light greyish, and dull tone. Korean textile is a natural materials as linen, ramie, and coarse silk. Final sample products are table supplies, home goods and bed goods applying the sewing method of tuck, quilting, top-stitching, patch work, applique and embroidery.

  • Here we designed and synthesized new zinc phthalocyanines and structures were fully confirmed by spectral and elemental analysis. All phthalocyanines have a very good solubility in industrial solvents like chloroform, dichloromethane, dimethyl sulfoxide, N,N-dimethyl formamide, propylene glycol monomethyl ether acetate (PGMEA), acetone, tetrahydrofuran and acetonitrile. UV-Visible absorption and transmittance in PGMEA showed that these dyes have suitable spectral properties for LCD color filters. By Triton X surfactant study, we confirmed that these dyes are not showing any aggregation in PGMEA. We dissolved the all phthalocyanines in LCD fabricating solvent (PGMEA), and all phthalocyanines showed more than 8 wt% of solubility. Finally, all of these results concluded that PCK1, PCK2 and PCK3 are fit for LCD green color filter.

  • Recently as urban buildings become higher and deeper by reason of economic growth and concentration of population into cities, the supporting technology becomes largely advanced and many buildings have been constructed making use of new materials and structure methods. As these large buildings accomodate large population and its insides are variously used for uses, disasters in buildings have been growing day by day. One of the main reasons of the disasters are the varity of building functions. Among the disasters, the damages by fire accidents become very serious as losses of lives and property become increasing. Here, although there shoule be many other ways to minimize these disasters, 1 would review choice of interior materials of buildings and improvement of blind points and week points in construction methods for the purpose.

  • Recently, gypsum boards are widely used as interior finishing boards for constructions because of their features of absorbing heats and little temperature rising at the early stage of fire. Therefore, in this research, basic data were suggested to secure fireproof stability by investigating interior processing features, which change together with the backside temperature of test materials from Flash Over (within 30 minutes after firing), at which temperature reaches its highest point, to survey the features of materials due to rising temperature in the chase of gypsum boards (general and fireproof gypsum boards)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate performance evaluation of absorbing and fast-drying fabric after washing. In the comparison of absorption and fast-drying properties, there was slight difference among the materials depending on thickness, weight, and fabric structure. Absorption speed of the materials depended on the frequency of washing which might be caused by modification of fabric structure or composition fiber due to friction during washing. The ability of fast-drying of the materials was gradually decreased with the increase of washing frequency, which might be caused by fatigue accumulation on inner fiber and structural change or destruction with friction during washing.

  • Rhodamine dyes have been studied in various scientific areas due to their excellent photophysical properties. In particular, these rhodamine dyes are one of the most famous fluorophores as signal unit in chemosensor study. This is related to spirolactam ring system in rhodamine dyes. When the spirolactam ring is closed, there is nonfluorescence and colorless. Whereas, ring-opening of the corresponding spirolactam induces strong fluorescence and color. These absorption and emission changes are related to structural changes as well as electron energy potential levels such as HOMO and LUMO values. In this study, two different structures of rhodamine 6G hydrazide depending on the spirolactam ring system were investigated using absorption measurement, electrochemical measurement and computational calculations.

  • In the present study, three morpholine substituted crystal violet lactone (CVL) have been synthesized to monitor the thermochromic property. This work is explaining the role of substituent on the lactone ring. The methyl substituents induced greater chromic effects than the chloro substituents. Furthermore, the three-component mixtures that contained CVL, bisphenol-A, and methyl stearate were used to analyse the thermochromic effect of the CVLs as bulk samples with various temperature. The thermochromic properties of the CVLs were evaluated using solid-state UV-Vis and FT-IR spectroscopic techniques. Finally, one of the synthesized CVL has been successfully converted into the form of a test paper similar to pH paper for use as thermal indicators.
