The workloads of large high-performance computing (HPC) scientific applications are steadily becoming "bursty" due to variable resource demands throughout their execution life-cycles. However, the over-provisioning of virtual resources for optimal performance during execution remains a key challenge in the scheduling of scientific HPC applications. While over-provisioning of virtual resources guarantees peak performance of scientific application in virtualized environments, it results in increased amounts of idle resources that are unavailable for use by other applications. Herein, we proposed a memory resource reconfiguration approach that allows the quick release of idle memory resources for new applications in OS-level virtualized systems, based on the applications resource-usage pattern profile data. We deployed a scientific workflow application in Docker, a light-weight OS-level virtualized system. In the proposed approach, memory allocation is fine-tuned to containers at each stage of the workflows execution life-cycle. Thus, overall memory resource utilization is improved.
This is an experimental study on the engineering characteristics of perforated reinforced concrete beams with shells. In the material matter of this study, the water cement ratio put 60%, the ratio of substitution of oyster shells to fine aggregate 30%. And in the structural matter, the form of opening put circle and square, the size of opening as the radius and the length of it changed from one to three times of the beam depth with a change presence and absence of reinforced steel around opening. All thirteen reinforced concrete beam tests composed one standard beam and twelve six beams with the circle and square opening were tested in shear strength under two points loading and compared and analyzed the characteristics of test beams under the same conditions one another. The results of the study showed as followed. 1) The initial crack load value of the opening test beams is similar the standard beam but the maximum load value decreased with increase in proportion of the opening size, in the square opening than the circle opening and in the absence than the presence of reinforced steel. 2) As the difference between the circle opening and the square opening beams is represented 2.17~9.8% in the maximum load value and the load capacity of the square opening suddenly decrease than it of the circle opening, it is judged because of the shortage of concrete section, the concentration of the stress in the corner of the square opening and material influence of shell substitution. 3) The failure figure such as the pattern of the crack and so on is represented brittle failure as the opening size is the bigger and the ratio of substitution is higher because of the lack material properties.
Damage by high-speed impact fracture is a dominant mode of failure in several applications of concrete structures. Numerical modelling can play a crucial role in understanding and predicting complex fracture processes. The commonly used mesh-based Finite Element Method has difficulties in accurately modelling the high deformation and disintegration associated with fracture, as this often distorts the mesh. Even with careful re-meshing FEM often fails to handle extreme deformations and results in poor accuracy. Moreover, simulating the mechanism of fragmentation requires detachment of elements along their boundaries, and this needs a fine mesh to allow the natural propagation of damage/cracks. Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) is an alternative particle based (mesh-less) Lagrangian method that is particularly suitable for analysing fracture because of its capability to model large deformation and to track free surfaces generated due to fracturing. Here we demonstrate the capabilities of SPH for predicting brittle fracture by studying a slender concrete structure (column) under the impact of a high-speed projectile. To explore the effect of the projectile material behaviour on the fracture process, the projectile is assumed to be either perfectly-elastic or elastoplastic in two separate cases. The transient stress field and the resulting evolution of damage under impact are investigated. The nature of the collision and the constitutive behaviour are found to considerably affect the fracture process for the structure including the crack propagation rates, and the size and motion of the fragments. The progress of fracture is tracked by measuring the average damage level of the structure and the extent of energy dissipation, which depend strongly on the type of collision. The effect of fracture property (failure strain) of the concrete due to its various compositions is found to have a profound effect on the damage and fragmentation pattern of the structure.

Plasma etch endpoint detection (EPD) of SiO2 and PR layer is demonstrated by plasma impedance monitoring in this work. Plasma etching process is the core process for making fine pattern devices in semiconductor fabrication, and the etching endpoint detection is one of the essential FDC (Fault Detection and Classification) for yield management and mass production. In general, Optical emission spectrocopy (OES) has been used to detect endpoint because OES can be a simple, non-invasive and real-time plasma monitoring tool. In OES, the trend of a few sensitive wavelengths is traced. However, in case of small-open area etch endpoint detection (ex. contact etch), it is at the boundary of the detection limit because of weak signal intensities of reaction reactants and products. Furthemore, the various materials covering the wafer such as photoresist (PR), dielectric materials, and metals make the analysis of OES signals complicated. In this study, full spectra of optical emission signals were collected and the data were analyzed by a data-mining approach, modified K-means cluster analysis. The K-means cluster analysis is modified suitably to analyze a thousand of wavelength variables from OES. This technique can improve the sensitivity of EPD for small area oxide layer etching processes: about 1.0 % oxide area. This technique is expected to be applied to various plasma monitoring applications including fault detections as well as EPD.

The purpose of this study is to analyze designs of exhibition clothing in terms of the use of Korean image, to review objectively contents about the use of traditional image, understand external elements of works, and give directions and basic data for future works. This study selected the total 250 works as the subject of this study among the collected data. This study classified and examined the use of Korean image found in exhibition clothing according to period, item, line and form, material, technique of expression and accessary between 1996 and 2004. The results of analysis are as follows (1) The most artworks were comprised in adaptation were Choson costume. (2) Most of them were clothing works for female. The item of chima were the most preferred in use. (3) The straight lines are used more frequently than curved lines. Forms of skirts were applied to those of silhouettes, H and A form were common. (4) In terms of materials, traditional materials such as silk, linen and cotton were commonly used. (5) Geometric patterns and plant pattern were found more often than others. (6) In terms of techniques of expression, patchwork was most frequent, quilting, embroidery and pleating were ranked second, third and fourth. (7) In accessaries and other item, gorom were most common and norigae were ranked second. (8) As Korean image has been expressed by fine parts of traditional costumes, the traditional living item, and local symbols, the range of works are becoming wider.
Acinic cell carcinoma is a slow-growing solid neoplasm of salivary gland. Although their cytological and histological finding is bland-looking, their biological behavior is unpredictable. We experienced two cases of acinic cell carcinoma of the salivary gland diagnosed by fine needle aspiration biopsy and confirmed by tissue examination. They showed different clinical courses. We compared their cytologic and histologic findings. The first case was a right preauricular mass in a 58 year-old female of 3 years duration. The cytologic smear revealed sheets or small clusters of monotonous cells mimicking normal serous acinar cells with little cellular pleomorphism. She underwent superficial parotid lobectomy. The tumor was a well demarcated 1.5cm sized nodular mass without infiltration into surrounding parenchyme. The second case was a left submandibular mass in a 23 year-old male of 4 years duration. The smear showed more severe pleomorphism of the tumor cells than those of previous case. Excisional biopsy was done. The excised tumor was $5.5{\times}3.5{\times}3cm$ sized multilobulated solid mass with invasion into surrounding parenchyme. The tumor recurred after 20months, thus total excision of the mass and modified radical neck dissection was carried out. From the above findings, cytologic atypism, infiltrative growth pattern and type of initial therapy may be correlated with biologic behavior.

A three-dimensional hydrodynamic numerical model is used to compute the annual and seasonal meteorologically-induced residual circulation on the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea continental shelf. The model is formulated having irregular coastal boundaires and non-uniform depth distribution representative of nature. The previous three-dimensional model of the East China Sea (Choi. 19U) has been further refined to resolve the flow over the continental shelf in more detail. The mesh resolution of the present finite difference grid system used is 4 minutes latitude by 5 minutes longitude over the entire shelf. The circulation pattern showing depth and spatial distribution of currents over the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea is presented. Meteorologically-induced currents are subsequently used to compute turn-over times for the three depths (surface. mid-depth. bottom) and the total water column of various regions of the Yellow Sea and the East China Sea.

Reverse-offset printing is one of the technologies that can be used for patterning fine features of the order of a few micrometers for printed electronics. In reverse-offset printing, a coated ink film is transferred to a blanket made of elastomer-like poly-dimethylsiloxane. Then, the blanket is impressed onto a clich$\acute{e}$ that has intaglio patterns. The blanket is deformed by penetrating the intaglio of the clich$\acute{e}$ according to the printing pressure. Excessive deformation of the blanket can cause printing defects upon touching the bottom of the intaglio pattern, especially in large patterns. In this paper, we modelled the deformation of the blanket using the finite element method. Considering the actual printing parameters, a condition for fabricating a clich$\acute{e}$ is proposed to prevent defects by the deformation of the blanket.
During design thinking and developing, its idea into the real world, and we are under pattern recognition and gestalt principles of perceptual organization. Generally originality is a part of creativity which consists an integral factor of the designing. This is a study on the measure system for an ability of originality in design. It is reorganized that the OTLD(Originality Test of Line Drawing) is a measuring system for personal originality. In order to catch the development the thoughts, we presented 10 picture planes as stimuli (each picture plane contained 3-18 dots), recorded the tape displaying eye-mark trajectories and outputting the trajectories with EMR(Eye Mark Recorder), then found the process of visual sensation and perception. From the results of this study, we examined the relationships between connections and complexity of the objects on the picture plane, which could be transformed into some objective measuring parameters. We would suggest this OLTD as a measurement system for an ability of originality in design fields, but we couldn't find any reliability and validity for fine art fields.
