  • Among the techniques of reducing the drag to increase the speed of underwater moving bodies, we studied on the drag reduction method by gas injection. Researches on gas injection method have been paid much attention to reduce the drag of vessels or pipe inner walls. In this study, we used a sintered metal mesh that can uniformly distribute fine bubbles by gas injection method, and applied it to a cylindrical underwater moving body. Using the KRISO medium-sized cavitation tunnel, we measured both the bubble size on the surface of the sintered mesh and the bubble distribution in the boundary layer. Then, drag reduction tests were performed on the cylinder type underwater moving models with cylindrical or round type tail shape. Experiments were carried out based on the presence or absence of tail jet injection. In the experiments, we changed the gas injection amount using the sintered mesh gas injector, and changed flow rate accordingly. As a result of the test, we observed increased bubbles around the body and confirmed the drag reduction as air injection flow rate increased.

  • The purpose of this study is to assess the applicability of device-type stream coagulation process which combines physiochemical, biological processing for efficient improvement of water quality in small, middle-sized urban streams. The stream purification facility of this study is compose of pressure flotation type Micro Bubble Process(MBP) to remove TSS and TP and conduit line type Attached Microbial Pipe System(AMPS) to remove BOD. Test conditions of each device were set by floating stay time and change of ultra fine bubble injection amount of MBP, and change of AMPS stay time. Also, removal efficiency of pollution sources of each process were assess by change of season. As result of continuous operation of each process, MBP showed a maximum of TSS 83.69%, TP 95.15% process efficiency and AMPS showed a maximum of 52.95% TBOD5 removal efficiency. Also as result of circular operation of each process, MBP showed a maximum of TSS 69.75%, TP 70.17% process efficiency and AMPS showed a maximum of 68.58% TBOD5 removal efficiency. Therefore, it is considered that this stream coagulation process is effective in improving the water quality of streams in urban areas.

  • The technology of microbubbles and nanobubbles originated in Japan and Europe is applicable to various applications and its effects are diverse, attracting attention not only from many researchers but also from industry experts. In particular, nanobubbles have the advantage that they can be applied to products in the form of liquids, such as cosmetics, from the study that they can exist for more than several months in water. In this study, it was carried out the production of nanobubbles using bubble encapsulation technique and the experiment of skin permeability enhancement of active substances in cosmetics using nanobubble techniquethree. Nanobubbles were confirmed to affect the skin permeability increase of active substances, and up to 250% increase in skin permeability compared to non-bubbles-free materials(Caffeic acid, at 8 hour). It is expected that research results and industrial ripple effects can be expected not only in the cosmetic field, but also in fields applicable to the improvement of permeability by nanobubble techniques, such as areas related to drug delivery system.

  • Dissolved air flotation (OAF) is a solid-liquid separation system that uses fine bubbles rising from bottom to remove particles in water. In this study, we investigated the effect of L/W (L; Length, W; Width) on the hydro-dynamic behavior in DAF system using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) and ADV (Acoustic Doppler Velocimetry) technique. The factual full-scale DAF system, L/W ratio of 1:1, was selected and various L/W ratio (2:1, 3:1, 4:1 and 5:1) conditions were simulated with CFD. For modelling, 2-phase (gas-liquid) flow equations for the conservation of mass, momentum and turbulence quantities were solved using an Eulerian-Eulerian approach based on the assumption that very small particle is applied in the DAF system. Also, for verification of CFD simulation results, we measured the factual velocity at some points in the full-scale DAF system with ADV technique. Both the simulation and the measurement results were in good accordance with each other. As the results of this study, we concluded that L/W ratio and outlet geometry play important role for flow pattern and fine bubble distribution in the flotation zone. In the ratio of 1:1, the dead zone is less than those in other cases. On the other hands, in the ration of 3:1, the fine bubbles were more evenly distributed.

  • In this study, the synthesis of PZT powder by bubble column reactor was investigated at various reaction conditions. As a result, the volume % of $NH_3$ gas used as a precipitator had no effect on the synthesis, but the more research is needed to control particle size.As a carrier gas, Ar, $O_2$ and air only increased the stirring effect but had no effect chemically on the synthesis. The calcination temperature of prepared PZT powder was about $500-600^{\circ}C$ and the meanparticle size of synthesized PZT powder was about $0.17{\mu}m$. The grain size of sintered body is about $0.5~3{\mu}m$ and this is similar with the value of commercial products.

  • The plating shape in the opening of photoresist becomes gradated shape in the fountain plating system, because bubbles from the wafer surface are difficult to escape from the deep openings, vias. In this paper, the bubble flow from the wafer surface during plating process was studied and we designed the tilted electrode ring to get uniform bump height on all over the wafer and evaluated the film uniformity by SEM and $\alpha-step$. In a-step measurement, film uniformities in the fountain plating system and the tilted electrode ring contact system were $\pm16.6\%,\;\pm4\%$ respectively.

  • Hemangioma is a common tumor characterized by the proliferation of blood vessels. Some authorities believe that this lesion is not a true neoplasm, but rather a developmental anomaly or harmatoma. This lesion may be present at any age, but most cases are present at birth or arise at an early age, and the central hemangioma of the jaw is uncommon. The usual radiographic appearance of a hemangioma may have one or more of the following characteristics: a soap-bubble or honey-comb effect with multiloculated cyst like lesions having a fine fibrillar framework visible within them. The roots of teeth mayor may not show resorption. The authors have experienced a case of hemangioma, that occured in anterior mouth floor and Mn.symphysis area cured by means of surgical excision without dysfunction and facial disfigurement.

  • As a basic research of developing two-interconnected fluidized beds system for selective solid circulation, a solid separator was developed to separate fine and coarse particles by means of particle size difference with particle size separation system equipped with metal screen. The effects of gas velocity, height of solid separator, and separation area on the solid separation rate were investigated as well. The solid separation rate increased as the gas velocity, height of solid separator, and separation area increased. As the gas velocity and height of the solid separator increased, the variation of the solid separation rate was consistent with that of bubble size. Consequently, coarse($212{\sim}300{\mu}m$) and fine($63{\sim}106{\mu}m$) particles were separated using the solid separator and the solid separation rate was ranged from 4.4 to 127 g/min. We also proposed two interconnenced fluidized beds system for sorption enhanced water-gas shift process equipped with the developed solid separator.
