The objective of this work is to perform a geometric analysis of the net present value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR), defining analytics and in verifying the relationship between geometric properties of such functions. For this simulation, was used the values of the cash flows for each period identical and equal to US$ 200.00 cash, the initial investment US$ 1,000.00 and investments of each identical and equal to US$ 50.00 period. In addition, the discount rate and time were considered a maximum of 2 years (24 months) at a rate between 0 and 100%. The geometric analysis of the characteristics obtained from the expressions of the Net Present Value and Internal Rate of Return possible to observe that besides the analytical dependence between these quantities , the geometric relationships are relevant when studied in relation to the zero NPV and expressed a great contribution the sense of a broad vision for the administrator in the analysis of analytical variables that in uences the balance sheet of the company.
The purpose of this study was to grasp the profitability of coffee franchise companies using ROIC tree, ROA and ROE. As a result, ROA was using assets efficiently, and some companies are in desperate need to improve their management based on past brand recognition, and a new paradigm management strategy is urgently required. In particular, the franchise company's current cost burden is greater than comparable firms. In ROE, the capital was operating efficiently. Since ROIC is very difficult to classify business related and operating related amounts accurately based on financial statement information, there is a limit to accurate ROIC calculation. Therefore, ROIC is estimated to be 7.6~38.29% as of 2016 based on ROIC calculation. In the case of continuous growth companies, investments are made to improve steady sales, but some companies seem to be unable to escape from past paradigm. In order to continue the growth of the company beyond the accounting profit in the future, the ROIC Tree can be used to measure the subdivided management performance and propose efficiency plan.
The purpose of this study is to explore financial investment knowledge related to multi-strategy, which is not generally shared. Through case studies, we will share it with the domestic hedge fund market. Since the era of full-fledged private equity hedge funds in Korea opens, many funds are created; however, reality is that there is a lack of diversity in strategies. Initially, it started with a simple stock long/short strategy, and various strategies such as mezzanine and alternative investments are in use but funds using multi-strategy are limited. This study aims to present an empirical application plan for hedge fund management strategies using a case study. It will specifically focus on process of achieving Absolute Return using the Multi Strategy technique actively used in securities firms' Prop Trading. With the results of this study, we intend to contribute to those fund managers and desired researchers who are utilizing multiple strategies in the hedge fund management to pursue Absolute Return and to help them strengthening their financial knowledge and competitiveness.
Intelligent transportation systems are one of the most important new forms of infrastructure on domestic roads, and is a system that makes possible the most efficient movement of vehicles on a road. The High Pass system, which is a domestic intelligent transportation system, started a little later than in other countries but developed at a rapid pace. With the recent introduction of smart tolling technology, it provided an opportunity to stop and review the tolling system. This study aims to investigate the driving method and results of LDCC for domestic smart towing through case study. Unlike other companies, Lotte Data Communication Company has long invested in payment systems. It has little experience investing in infrastructure, but participated in the Smart Toll System at the Gwangan Bridge in cooperation with the Busan City government, to lead the development of intelligent transportation systems. LDCC, which has made new investments, not only exceeded its existing core competencies, but also upgraded Korea's tolling system's ability to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improved its financial performance.

The relationship between companies in the supply chain is a core competency of the company and key indicator which determines the survival of a company. Therefore, companies are investing in efforts for inter-company relations, and related studies have been conducted for a long time. However, in the supply chain, the positions and characteristics of suppliers and buyers are not the same. Therefore, research is needed to better understand and respond to other characteristics of the relationship between suppliers and buyers. The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of the resources held between the buyer and the supplier through social capital, which is a value asset that can be used as a resource created through social relations, and whether it affects the commitment of the relationship. In addition, The core of this study was to statistically analyze the differences between suppliers and buyers through this analysis. This study was conducted by surveying companies that are suppliers and buyers along the supply chain. The difference between the supplier and the buyer was revealed through empirical analysis, and statistically, the difference between the two groups was also revealed. As a result of the analysis, the higher the involvement of the buyer, the more significant the result of structural capital was, and the result was statistically opposite to the supplier. As for the relationship capital, quantitative and qualitative relationship capital had different effects on the commitment. Both the supplier and the buyer had a positive effect on relationship performance. However, the effect of emotional commitment on non-financial relationship performance has a greater degree of influence on suppliers, and it appears in statistical differences. This study revealed differences in the relationship between suppliers and buyers, and found that different investments and efforts were required for each group.
Purpose - purpose of this paper is to analyze the effects of the investment facilitation levels of 11 RCEP countries (excluding Myanmar, Brunei, and Laos due to lack of data) on China's outward foreign direct investments(OFDI) using balanced panel data from 2010 to 2019. Design/methodology - First, four investment facilitation measurement indicators (regulatory environment, infrastructure, financial market, ease of doing business) were selected,investment facilitation scores of the 11 countries were obtained using the principal component analysis, an investment gravity model was established with nine explanatory variables (investment facilitation level, market size, population, geographic distance, degree of opening, tax level, natural resources, whether the country is an APEC member or not, and whether a valid bilateral investment treaty with China has been concluded) were used to establish an investment gravity model, and regression analyses were conducted with OLS and system GMM. Findings - The results of the regression analyses showed that investment facilitation levels had the greatest effect on China's OFDI, all four first-level indicators had positive effects on China's OFDI, and among them, the institutional environment had the greatest effect. In addition, it was shown that explanatory variables such as market size, population, geographical distance, degree of openness, natural resources, and whether or not a valid bilateral investment treaty has been concluded would have positive effects on China's OFDI, while tax levels and APEC membership would impede China's OFDI to some extent. Originality/value - Since the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEPT) came into effect not long ago, there are not so many studies on the effects of investment facilitation levels of RCEP member states on China's OFDI, and the investment facilitation measurement index constructed in this paper is relatively systematic and scientific because it includes all the contents of investment facilitation related to the life cycle of company's foreign direct investments.

It is well known that the encouraging startups play a major role for innovation in an economy. Thus, venture capital are indispensable for the growth of startups. The literature on investment performance of venture capital reveals that the investment strategies depend largely on the characteristics and capabilities of venture capital. Therefore, investment capability of venture capital is important. There are various investing roles that can be identified by venture capital when determining what kind of startup to invest in, whom to invest with, how to invest, how to post-investment management after investment, and so on. This research was conducted to understand the effect of investment capabilities of venture capital on investment performance. To do so, we surveyed 70 venture businesses in the Seoul and Gyeonggido region for an empirical analysis. The empirical results of this paper are summarized as follows. First, the financial performance of venture firms is influenced by the financial capacity of venture capitalists, and investment evaluation of venture capital. Second, the business performance of venture firms is influenced by the marketing support consulting of venture capital, and investment evaluation of venture capital.
Even after successful technology development, there are many cases where commercialization fails due to difficulties in financing in the early stages of commercialization. The purpose of this study is to give practical implications to technology-based founders. At the beginning of commercialization, 7 companies that succeeded in procuring different types of external funds were selected to conduct case analysis. The results are as follow. First, it was confirmed that the excellence of technology is the most important. Second, it was confirmed that they were majors in the relevant technology field or have worked in related fields, and concluded that greater synergy effect can be created by adding the founder's business will and active attitude. Third, even if the company's internal capabilities were insufficient, it was possible to succeed in financing by identifying and utilizing external financial information. Fourth, it is necessary to utilize a linked financial system that receives both loans and investments. Fifth, systematic IR (Investor Relation) should be continued.
The purpose of this study is verifying with corporate financial data that the required investment amount flow shows a similar pattern as times passed, in new product development by start-up company. In the previous paper, the same authors proposed the required investment amount flow as a 'New Product Investment Curve (NPIC)'. In this study, we have studied further in various types of companies. The samples used are accounting data of 462 companies selected from 5,873 Korean companies which were finished external audit in 2015. The results of this study are as follows; The average investment period was 3 years for the listed companies, while 6 years for the unlisted companies. The investment payback period was 6 years for listed companies, while 17 years for unlisted companies. The investment payback period of the company supported by big affiliate company (We call 'greenhouse company') was 14~15 years, while 17 years for real venture companies. When we divide all companies into 4 groups in terms of R&D cost and variable cost ratio, NPIC explanatory power of 'high R&D and high variable cost ratio group (Automobile Assembly Business) is best. Among the eight investment cost indexes proposed to estimate the investment amount, the 'cash 1' (operating cash flow+fixed asset excluding land & building+intangible asset, deferred asset change)/year-end total assets) turned out to be the most effective index to estimate the investment flow patterns. The conclusion is that NPIC explanatory power is somewhat reduced when we estimate all companies together. However, if we estimate the sample companies by characteristics such as listed, unlisted, greenhouse, and venture company, the proposed NPIC was verified to be effective by showing the required investment amount pattern.
The purpose of this study is to analyze changes of innovation activities and their performance in pre-IPO and post-IPO of KOSDAQ IPO listed companies in medical and pharmaceutical fields, which require high R&D investment, from 2000 to 2005 in Korea. The innovation efficiencies of the IPO companies were measured before and after three years based on the DEA model. The financial data and patent information of the listed company during total 6 years, which were 3 years before IPO and 3 years after IPO, were collected. The main results of this research are as follows. First, it took an average 12.86 years until IPO in the start-up of the IPO companies in the pharmaceutical sector, and innovation was on average more active than the IPO before. R&D investment was higher than the IPO before, and the number of the applied patent during 3 years after IPO was 16.67 which was increased from 8.43 during 3 years before IPO. In addition, the average scope of technology of the IPO companies was expanded from 11 to 22 technology fields during previous 3 year and after 3 year each, and financial growth after IPO was lower than the previous IPO. Second, the financial performance of R&D investment and the performance of patent activity were weakened in the efficiency after the IPO, and the integrated performance from the patenting activities and the R&D investment was decreased after the IPO. Finally, the efficiency of the financial performance of the patenting activity was lower than the efficiency of the financial performance of the patent and R&D investment and patent activities under the R&D investment. In particular, the inefficiency of the firms' patenting activities performance after the IPO was caused by the decreasing return to scale, according to the results of this study. This results implicate that the expansion of R&D investments through the IPO had not lead to the financial performance of the market, and that the overall inefficiency since the IPO is due to the inefficiencies at the stage for the outcome of innovation activity rather than the output obtained through the R&D investments that appear to lead the performance of the market.
