A study on the DoA Estimation Prformance of Interference Signal in W-CDMA using 3D Adaptive Array Antenna (W-CDMA에서 3차원 적응 배열 안테나를 이용한 방해 신호의 도래각 추정 성능에 관한 연구)

  • This paper deals with the estimation performance DoA (Direction of Arrival) using the 3D adaptive array antenna in W-CDMA signal. For this, we proposed the 5 types of 3D array antenna, and appied for the MUSIC in order to the estimation of DoA algorithm for that antenna, commonly, then the DoA estimation error was used for the estimation performance. In the mobile communication and radio positioning service, performing the spatial filtering after the DoA estimation in array antenna, the quality of receiving signal can improve by the nulling or minimization of interfering signal which is from the undesired direction and the forming of beam which is from the desired direction. The result of DoA estimation and the DoA estimation error by varying the signal to noise ration and the number of interfering signal and power of each type antenna was calculated by computer simulation. As a result of simulation, the other propose antenna has good performance excluding the stack 3D antenna in DoA estimation and the Curved-B type antenna has more superior performance when increasing the number of interfering signal and power in the DoA estimation error.

Consumers' Usage Intentions on Online Product Recommendation Service -Focusing on the Mediating Roles of Trust-commitment- (온라인 상품추천 서비스에 대한 소비자 사용 의도 -신뢰-몰입의 매개역할을 중심으로-)

  • This study tests consumer responses to online product recommendation service offered by a website. A product recommendation service refers to a filtering system that predicts and shows items that consumers would like to purchase based on their searches or pre-purchase information. The survey is conducted on 300 people in an age group between 20 and 40 years in a panel of an online survey firm. Data are analyzed using confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling by AMOS 20.0. The results show that personalization quality does not have a significant effect on trust, but relationship quality and technology quality have a positive effect on trust. Three types of quality of recommendation service also have a positive effect on commitment. Trust and commitment are factors that increase service usage intentions. In addition, this study reveals the moderating effect of light users vs heavy users based on online shopping time. Light users show a negative effect of personalization quality on trust, indicating that they are likely to be uncomfortable to the service using personal information, compared to heavy users. This study also finds that trust vs commitment is an important factor increasing service usage intentions for heavy users vs light users.

Effect of virus infectivity titer following centrifugation and filtration during virus extraction from fish samples

  • A $0.45-{\mu}m$ membrane filter is generally used to remove bacterial contamination during virus extraction from fish samples. However, the number of fish viruses is drastically reduced after filtration with a $0.45{\mu}m$ filter. In this study, we investigated the effect of filters on virus infectivity titer and the change in virus titer and bacterial number following different centrifugation conditions to determine a suitable procedure for virus extraction from fish samples. $10^{4.05}$ and $10^{5.05}TCID_{50}/ml$ of infectious hematopoietic necrosis virus (IHNV) and $10^{4.05}$ and $10^{4.55}TCID_{50}/ml$ of Oncorhynchus masou virus (OMV) were not detectable after filtration with two types of $0.45-{\mu}m$ filters, except the IHNV titer was reduced by about 10 fold after filter use (company A). No significant difference was found in the virus titer following centrifugation at $880{\times}g$ (30 min) or $3,500{\times}g$ (30 min), whereas IHNV and OMV titers were reduced by about 10 and 10-1000 fold by centrifugation at $14,000{\times}g$ (30 min) and $14,000{\times}g$ (10 and 30 min), respectively. A total of 97.7-99.9% Escherichia coli were eliminated by centrifugation at $880 {\times}g$ (30 min) and $3,500{\times}g$ (30 min). These results show that fish viruses were affected by filtering, even though the effect differed by virus species and filter type. Therefore, centrifugation at $3,500{\times}g$ (30 min) and use of medium with antibiotics may be useful for virus extraction along with a reduction in bacteria.

The Region Analysis of Document Images Based on One Dimensional Median Filter (1차원 메디안 필터 기반 문서영상 영역해석)

  • To convert printed images into electronic ones automatically, it requires region analysis of document images and character recognition. In these, regional analysis segments document image into detailed regions and classifies thee regions into the types of text, picture, table and so on. But it is difficult to classify the text and the picture exactly, because the size, density and complexity of pixel distribution of some of these are similar. Thu, misclassification in region analysis is the main reason that makes automatic conversion difficult. In this paper, we propose region analysis method that segments document image into text and picture regions. The proposed method solves the referred problems using one dimensional median filter based method in text and picture classification. And the misclassification problems of boldface texts and picture regions like graphs or tables, caused by using median filtering, are solved by using of skin peeling filter and maximal text length. The performance, therefore, is better than previous methods containing commercial softwares.

An Innovative Approach to Track Moving Object based on RFID and Laser Ranging Information

  • RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) identifies a specific object by radio signals. As the tag provides a unique ID for the purpose of identification, RFID technology effectively solves the ambiguity and occlusion problem that challenges the laser or camera-based approach. This paper proposes an approach to track a moving object based on the integration of RFID and laser ranging information using a particle filter. To be precise, we split laser scan points into different clusters which contain the potential moving objects and calculate the radial velocity of each cluster. The velocity information is compared with the radial velocity estimated from RFID phase difference. In order to achieve the positioning of the moving object, we select a number of K best matching clusters to update the weights of the particle filter. To further improve the positioning accuracy, we incorporate RFID signal strength information into the particle filter using a pre-trained sensor model. The proposed approach is tested on a SCITOS service robot under different types of tags and various human velocities. The results show that fusion of signal strength and laser ranging information has significantly increased the positioning accuracy when compared to radial velocity matching-based or signal strength-based approaches. The proposed approach provides a solution for human machine interaction and object tracking, which has potential applications in many fields for example supermarkets, libraries, shopping malls, and exhibitions.

Improvement of Factory Data in Industrial Land Information System (산업입지정보시스템 공장정보 개선에 관한 연구)

  • The factory information provided by the Industrial Location Information System (ILIS) is provided as raw data by the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation and registered after a filtering process, so the new factory information update is slow. In this study, to solve the problem of updating factory information of industrial location information system, using building data of road name address with relatively fast renewal cycle and building data of real estate, we compared the factory information of existing ILIS and extracted new factory information. In the process of comparison, a method was proposed to compare spatial objects of different types with point data and polygon data. Attribute information matching and object matching were performed, and attribute values of new factory information were extracted. The accuracy evaluation of the proposed spatial analysis method showed 79% accuracy, and the above matching technique was used to confirm the possibility of convergence of road name address data, real estate data and factory information of ILIS.

  • This study intends to analyze the various spatial structures and characteristics of the museum based on the two of the Renzo Piano's recent projects Menil Collection '||'&'||' Museum and Beyeler Foundation Museum Which defined the direction of the "Third Generation" in museum architecture with reference to the quality of spatial experience and design applications. Comparison and analysis were done on the basic spatial organization floor layout accessibility exhibition area lighting plan and circulation between the two museum. Through the itemized common characteristics of the museum the architect's proposal on meaning and direction of the new museum architecture can be viewed. The contemporary museums distinguish themselves quite clearly from their predecessors and this applies both to their own form and to their spatial organization. As the public demands and requests toward the museum building facility expand everyday the architect must respond by providing multiple types of space where people can experience different atmosphere in each area. One concept he used to create multi experienced area was manipulation of the natural light using by the state-of-the-art techniques of the light filtering system and multi-layering roof system to protect the valuable collections against the direct sunlight. But mainly it was to prove his strong belief in "architecture of light" by creating space with minimized meaning by purposely distinguished area in order to provide maximum support to the physical value of the collection " The connection with nature" is another concept which Piano used to provide the public a tranquil experience through out the architecture which engages in a lively dialogue with art. In spatial organization Piano concerned on functionality which not only concentrated on the visitor's point of view but also on the museum staff's comfort. Unlkie the traditional museum he alternates various size of exhibition areas for spatial hierarchy. Specially the spatial flexibility that the temporary exhibition areas are able to be expanded to the permanent exhibition areas by adjoining t재 spaces differentiate Piano's new museum from the rest. museum from the rest.

  • Probe design is one of the essential tasks in successful DNA microarray experiments. The requirements for probes vary as the purpose or type of microarray experiments. In general, most previous works use the simple filtering approach with the fixed threshold value for each requirement. Here, we formulate the probe design as a multiobjective optimization problem with the two objectives and solve it using ${\epsilon}$-multiobjective evolutionary algorithm. The suggested approach was applied in designing probes for 19 types of Human Papillomavirus and 52 genes in Arabidopsis Calmodulin multigene family and successfully produced more target specific probes compared to well known probe design tools such as OligoArray and OligoWiz.

Extraction of Text Regions from Spam-Mail Images Using Color Layers (색상레이어를 이용한 스팸메일 영상에서의 텍스트 영역 추출)

  • In this paper, we propose an algorithm for extracting text regions from spam-mail images using color layer. The CLTE(color layer-based text extraction) divides the input image into eight planes as color layers. It extracts connected components on the eight images, and then classifies them into text regions and non-text regions based on the component sizes. We also propose an algorithm for recovering damaged text strokes from the extracted text image. In the binary image, there are two types of damaged strokes: (1) middle strokes such as 'ㅣ' or 'ㅡ' are deleted, and (2) the first and/or last strokes such as 'ㅇ' or 'ㅁ' are filled with black pixels. An experiment with 200 spam-mail images shows that the proposed approach is more accurate than conventional methods by over 10%.

  • To set up the future research and development direction for Auger bit, this study analyzed publicized patent trends of Deep Cement Mixing method (DCM) in Korea, USA, Japan, and Europe. DCM method was firstly classified into wing shapes and the number of rods according to the technical scope, and secondly, classified into 8 types according to type of screw and rotation axial. A total of 2,815 patents were searched and 448 validated patents were selected through de-duplication and filtering. As a result of the analysis of the portfolio through the number of patents and growth stages, it was selected as the core technology that auger is deemed to have high growth potential and if there is a patent similar to core technology through a patent barrier analysis, the basic data is suggested to develop the design around and differentiated technologies.
