  • Under the background of globalization, the borderless nature of film and television language makes the exchange of film as the carrier become an important part of cultural exchanges in various countries. Therefore, film co-production between China and the United States, China and Japan, China and South Korea and other countries has become an important part of the current Chinese film industry. Among them, China and South Korea are close neighbors, and the exchanges between the two countries' films are also increasing. Korean movies have recovered since the 1990s, and they prospered at the beginning of the 21st century, and have formed a unique influence in the international community, especially in crime, suspense, love and other types of films. The co-production of Chinese and Korean films began to appear in 2000, and the signing of the "China-Korea Co-production Film Agreement" in 2014 prompted the rapid convergence of Chinese and Korean film co-productions. However, the co-productions of China and South Korea did not achieve good expectations in terms of communication effects and market evaluation. This article will use the "cultural discount" theory in cross-cultural communication to analyze the reasons for the cultural discounts produced by Chinese and Korean co-productions and how to avoid this phenomenon to the maximum extent.

  • The current distribution structure in Korea film industry is in the multiplex chain. As a result, most small or medium-sized theaters have been excluded from the market, and all the multiplex chain have gradually been formed into the vertical integration structure. The strike by multiplex theaters in Chuncheon who did not screen for one month led to the problem of the vertical integration, which resulted in many effects. Particularly, it caused considerable effect on the cultural desire and instigated movie-goers to turn to illegal content. This study surveys the process in which Korean multiplex theaters in vertical integration structure took over the Korean film market, and consequently, small theaters collapsed, and the theaters in vertical integration structure kick out small theaters in horizontal integration structure, and conducts a survey on the effect of the one-month strike by Chuncheon CGV from September 27 to October 30, 2008 in Chuncheon where said processes had completed so as to determine the effect of and impact of the problem of the vertical integration, monopoly structure. When major consumers of the film industry, i.e., people in their 20s, see their access to newly released films limited due to closing of multiplex theaters, they feel the impulse to access illegal contents. If they miss viewing the newly released films, they prefer to view illegal contents or films on recording media rather than visiting theaters showing those films. They are also influenced by timing of film release. Specifically, methods of illegal access to newly released films, permanent accessibility to them via recording media, and timing of film release influence their viewing patterns.

  • Display is a key component in electronic devices. OLED is growing very fast recently due to the explosion of the smart phone market although still LCD is the dominating display technology in the display market at the moment. Also needs for the large area and high resolution TVs and flexible displays are increasing these days. Especially flexible display is expected to be one of the key technologies in mobile devices requiring small device size and large display size. Contrary to the conventional displays, flexible display requires organic materials for the substrate, the active driving element and also for the display element. Plastic film as a substrate, organic semiconductor as an active component of the transistor and organic light emitting materials or electronic paper as a display element are studied actively. In this article, mainly backplane technologies such as substrates and the transistor materials for flexible display will be introduced.

  • Currently , the growth of various platforms is remarkable , both at home and abroad . With the growth of various platforms such as PC, console, and VR as well as mobile, the global gaming industry market size has grown to reach KRW 151 trillion . However , in order to revitalize the domestic game market , which is growing at a slower pace, improve the concentration phenomenon that is concentrated on mobile and PC platforms , and select one of the games using IP that is being discussed as a new breakthrough , and determine what form the game will take. Through this study, we would like to suggest whether multi-platform is appropriate. The Digimon series generally attracts many fans through animation , and the Digimon story Cyber Sleuth, which utilizes new scenarios to satisfy them and arouse interest at the same time , can be seen as a representative success example We believe that through this interaction, users can continue to play the main content on their PC, and create synergy by being able to play and enjoy minimal content through mobile anytime , anywhere while doing other things.

  • The first packaging of Korean market milk dates back to July 1937 when Seoul Dairy Co-operative (Kyung Seong Dairy Co-operative in those days) used 1 hob (180 ml) glass bottles with either paper caps or cork caps. During 1945-1972, 2 hob (360 ml) glass bottles were produced, and iron caps and egret-shaped plastic film replaced the previously used caps. When there were insufficient numbers of milk bottles, other glass bottles such as soda drink bottles and beer bottles were used instead. Seoul Dairy Co-operative was the only dairy company existing in Korea until Nam Yang Dairy Co. Ltd was founded in March 1964, followed by Hae Tae Dairy Co. Ltd(Tae Han Food Public Corporation in those days) in 1969 and Mae-il Dairy Co. Ltd (Korea Dairy Company in those days) in May 1971. As many other dairy companies along with the above-mentioned companies were established, a variety of dairy products were packaged and marketed. In 1971 Seoul Dairy Co-operative first used triangular-shaped polyethylene film wrappers, and in 1972 Nam Yang Diary was the first company importing sterilized Tetra pak for the packaging of milk. Since 1974 rectangular shaped polyethylene film wrappers and plastic bottles were used. In 1977 the gable top carton pack made of paper was first introduced by Seo Joo Industry Co. Ltd, and its market share increased rapidly with gradual increase in its volume, from 180ml to 200ml, to 250ml, to 500ml and finally to 1,000ml, causing change in the volume of milk consumption. And in Sep. 1987 Pasteur market milk Co. Ltd. first used round type high density polyethylene bottle(body) with low density polyethylene cap of 245g, 490g and 980g volumes respectively.

  • This article analyzes film performances in the Korean movie market utilizing three-stage models that incorporate available information in three different stages of the movie life cycle, i.e., at the time of its release, at the end of the first week, and at the end of its life cycle. Based on the premise that the performance of a movie is affected principally by factors of scale, evaluation, and competition, we attempted to ascertain the effects on these factors on performances, and how they differ in different stages. Also, by analyzing domestic and foreign movies released in Korea separately, we were able to compare the different effects of the three factors on the performances of the two categories of movies. Additionally, our movie performance models incorporated herding behavior among the customers. Our results demonstrate that herding is prominently observed after the first week only for domestic movies. In general, the scale factor has been shown to be most important for movie performances in all stages. For foreign films, it is particularly critical for the first week and total performances. Whereas the evaluation factor influences domestic film performance more strongly at the screen choice stage, it affects the performance of foreign films more strongly in the later stages of the life cycle. As compared to foreign films, domestic film performance appears to be more sensitive to the competition factor. We also discuss the effects of covariates such as genre and symbolicity on movie performance.

  • Magnetic recording is still considered to be a.leader in storage industries in general. The rigid disk drive, in particular, has an advantage over tape, optical, magneto-optical, or flash memories, because of high areal density and fast access time with reasonably low cost per Mbyte. However, to be competitive in the market and to keep an edge over other storage devices, head and media in rigid disk drives require better performance per cost and more aggressive improvement in areal density, as shown in Fig. 1, than before. In this review paper, the future trend in head/media technologies of the rigid disk drive has been reviewed. Thin film media and thin film inductive/MR heads will be mainly discussed, since they are expected to be dominant in the future high-end drives over other technologies, such as particulate media or MIG heads.(omitted)mitted)
