평판구조의 추계론적 유한요소해석 (Stochastic FE Analysis of Plate Structure)

  • 본 연구는 가중적분법을 이용한 추계론적 유한요소해석에 관한 것으로 구조계 내에 존재하는 재료상수와 기하학적 상수의 임의성을 해석에 고려하여 추계론적 해석을 수행하였으며 대상 구조로는 평판구조를 택하였다. 재료와 기하학적 해석인자의 임의성을 포함한 요소강성행렬의 유도를 위해서 임의장을 가장하였으며 임의장의 평균은 0이고 표준편차 값은 0.1을 사용하였다. 이러한 임의장의 특성은 auto-correlation 함수에 의해서 표현되었으며 이 함수는 반응변화도를 얻는 과정에 사용되었다. 본 연구에서는 평판의 두께에 대한 임의성을 고려하기 위해서 새로운 auto-correlation 함수가 유도되었다. 유도된 새로운 auto-correlation 함수는 재료탄성계수의 임의장 특성을 나타내는 기존의 함수와 임의장 분산 계수의 함수로 나타났다. 수치해석결과는 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션 결과와 비교되었으며 상호 잘 일치하는 좋은 결과를 나타내었고 이들 결과는 제시된 이론적인 수렴치와도 잘 일치하였다. 평판두께에 대한 해석의 경우 역시 Lawrence의 결과는 물론 몬테카를로 시뮬레이션과 제시된 이론치와도 잘 일치하였다.

조사야 외부의 산란선량 감소 방법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Reduction of Scattered Ray in Outside Radiation Field)

  • 본 연구는 진단용 X선 발생장치에서 조사야 외부의 산란선량을 감소시켜 환자의 피폭 선량을 감소시키기 위한 방법이다. 자체 제작한 $150{\times}190mm^2$ 납판을 콜리메이터 하단에 부착함으로써 조사야 이외의 부위에 도달하는 산란선량을 감소시키고자 하였다. 납판을 추가로 삽입 후 X선 관축방향인 X-축의 산란선량을 측정한 결과 26 ~ 36% 감소하는 것으로 나타났으며, 관축의 수직 방향인 Y-축 방향에서는 납판의 사용 유무에 따른 산란선량은 큰 변화를 나타내지 않았다. 이러한 결과는 콜리메이터 Shutter에 의해서 발생하는 산란선 보다는 초점 근방에서 발생하는 초점외 X선에 의한 산란선 영향이 크다는 것을 의미한다. 따라서 기존의 콜리메이터 하단에 추가로 납판을 설치하는 것이 조사야 외부의 X-축 산란선량을 감소시키는 방법으로 판단되어진다.

연료전지 분리판의 형상설계를 위한 유동해석 (Flow-Field Analysis for Designing Bipolar Plate Patterns in a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell)

  • A numerical flow-field analysis is performed to investigate flow configurations in the anode, cathode and cooling channels on the bipolar plates of a proton exchange membrane fuel cell (PEMFC). Continuous open-faced flow channels are formed on the bipolar plate surface to supply hydrogen, air and water. In this analysis, two types of channel pattern are considered: serpentine and spiral. The averaged pressure distribution and velocity profiles of the hydrogen, air and water channels are calculated by two-dimensional flow-field analysis. The equations for the conservation of mass and momentum in the two-dimensional fluid flow analysis are slightly modified to include the characteristics of the PEMFC. The analysis results indicate that the serpentine flow-fields are locally unstable (because two channels are cross at right angles). The spiral flow-fields has more stable than the serpentine, due to rotational fluid-flow inertia forces. From this study, the spiral channel pattern is suggested for a channel pattern of the bipolar plate of the PEMFC to obtain better performance.

핀-핀 형 또는 판-판 형 전극에 인가된 AC 전기장이 에틸렌 정상 확산 화염 Soot 입자 배출에 미치는 영향 (Effects of AC Electrostatic Field Applied to fin-to-Pin/Plate-to-Plate Electrodes on Soot Reduction in a C2B4 Normal Diffusion Flame)

  • In our previous study, it was proven that the mean size and the total number concentration of carbon soot particles emitted from a $C_2$H$_4$ normal diffusion flame decreased when a DC corona was discharged to pin-pin electrodes. In this work the effect of AC corona discharge on soot emission was investigated and compared with that of DC corona discharge. For the pin-pin electrodes the size of soot particles and the number concentration decreased by the AC voltage. There were only slight changes in size distribution with frequencies, while the magnitude of applied voltage was constant. When the electric field was applied to plate-plate electrodes, the size and the number concentration also decreased with the applied AC voltages. For applied voltages above 2kV the effect of frequency increase on the soot emission was effective.

  • 노천에서 폭파실험을 통해 납판 발파압계의 변형량을 계측하였다. 홉킨슨 바 시험장치의 가스 건으로 압력 실험하여 구한 보정 그래프에 계측데이터를 적용하여 폭풍압을 산출하였다. 그 결과를 CONWEP, DDESB 등 여러 가지 폭풍압 예측식과 대비하였다. 근거리 폭풍압의 실 계측 값은 폭풍압 예측식의 결과보다 최대압력이 낮게 나타났지만 거리에 따른 압력감쇠는 폭풍압 예측식보다 완만한 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 기존 이론식으로 추정한 초근접 지점의 발파압은 부정확함을 의미한다.

  • Optimal flow-field design of bipolar-plates for a commercial class PEM(polymer electrolyte membrane) fuel cell stack was carried out on the basis of three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics(CFD) simulation. A three-dimensional CFD model originally developed by Shimpalee et al., has been utilized for performing large-scale simulation of a single fuel cell consisting of bipolar-plates gas diffusion layers, and a membrane-electrode-assembly(MEA). The CFD model is able to predict the current density, pressure drops, gas velocities, vapor and liquid water contents, temperature distributions, etc. inside a single fuel cell. Depending on simulation results from the CFD modeling of a PEM fuel cell, several flow-fields of bipolar-plates were designed and verified. The final design of the bipolar-plate has been chosen from the simulations and experimental tests and showed the best performance as expected from the simulation results under a normal operating condition. Thus, the CFD simulation approach to design the optimal flow-field of the bipolar-plates was successful. The final design was adopted as the best flow-field to build a commercial scale PEM fuel cell stack, the performance of which shows about 42% higher than that of the older bipolar-plate design.

The study to flat-type generate of magnetic field with CW (Continue wave) frequency and AM (Amplitude modulation) frequency

  • In this study, We applied the magnetic field that has CW frequency and AM frequency to heating magnetic nano powder. For this experiment, We set up the devices flat-type magnetic field generator with CW frequency and AM frequency. We supplied the current to encircling coil by adjusting the power of generating of magnetic field device for AC voltage through Slidacs and using way of LC resonance circuit and SMPS(Switching Mode Power Supply). Above the encircling coil, We covered the circular flat insulator like glass. And we located the well plate containing the magnetic nano powder liquor above the circular flat insulator and exposed the magnetic field to this well plate. Using the flat-type magnetic field generator with CW and AM frequency and the magnetic field measurement sensor(Magnetic pick up coil or Hall sensor), We measured the strength of the magnetic field of circular flat insulator's surface in each position. The temperature of the magnetic nano powder in the well plate was quantitatively measured by the magnetic field strength through the Fluoroptic thermometer.

Transversely isotropic thick plate with two temperature & GN type-III in frequency domain

  • This investigation is focused on the variations in transversely isotropic thick circular plate due to time harmonic thermomechanical sources. The homogeneous thick circular plate in presence and absence of energy dissipation and two temperatures has been considered. Hankel transform is used for solving field equations. The analytical expressions of conductive temperature, displacement components, and stress components are computed in the transformed domain. The effects of frequency at different values are represented graphically. Some specific cases are also figured out from the current research.

  • The effect of magnetic field on NOx removal characteristics from a combustion flue gas has been experimentally investigated for a DC corona discharge reactor with a multipoint plate geometry in our Lab. Combustion flue gas removal efficiency of this type was much higher than that of the other types. In this paper, needle-plate geometry discharge system with applied magnetic field at a right angle to the electric field was made. Input power source was used negative DC. The corona discharge characteristics for this system was investigated and compared with the corona characteristics for the corona discharge system without magnetic field.

Variational surface design under normal field guidance

  • This paper proposes a novel method for shape design of a Bezier surface with given boundary curves. The surface is defined as the minimizer of an extended membrane functional or an extended thin plate functional under the guidance of a specified normal field together with an initial prescribed surface. For given boundary curves and the guiding normal field, the free coefficients of a Bezier surface are obtained by solving a linear system. Unlike previous PDE based surface modeling techniques which construct surfaces just from boundaries, our proposed method can be used to generate smooth and fair surfaces that even follow a specified normal field. Several interesting examples are given to demonstrate the applications of the proposed method in geometric modeling.
