  • Off-axis reflective optical systems have attractive advantages relative to their on-axis or refractive counterparts, for example, zero chromatic aberration, no obstruction, and a wide field of view. For the efficient operation of off-axis reflective system, the surface accuracy of freeform mirrors should be higher than the order of wavelengths at which the reflective optical systems operate. Especially for applications in shorter wavelength regions, such as visible and ultraviolet, higher surface accuracy of freeform mirrors is required to minimize the light scattering. In this work, we propose the error compensation algorithm (ECA) for the correction of wavefront errors on freeform mirrors. The ECA converts a form error pattern into polynomial expression by fitting a least square method. The error pattern is measured by using an ultra-high accurate 3-D profilometer (UA3P, Panasonic Corp.). The measured data are fitted by two fitting models: Sag (Delta Z) data model and form (Z) data model. To evaluate fitting accuracy of these models, we compared the fitted error patterns with the measured error pattern.

  • We report a spatial fluctuation analysis of the sky brightness in the near-infrared from observations towards the north ecliptic pole (NEP) by AKARI at 2.4 and $3.2{\mu}m$. As a follow up study of our previous work on the Monitor field of AKARI, we used NEP deep survey data, which covered a circular area of about 0.4 square degrees, in order to extend fluctuation analysis at angular scales up to 1000". After pre-processing, additional correction procedures were done to correct time varying components and instrumental effects such as MUXbleed. To remove resolved objects, we applied $2{\sigma}$ clipping and point spread function (PSF) subtraction. We finally obtained mosaicked images which can be used for the study of various diffuse emissions in the near-infrared sky and found that there are spatial structures in the mosaicked images using a power spectrum analysis.

  • This paper presents an efficient interactive framework for perspective scene completion and editing tasks, which are available largely in the real world but rarely studied in the field of image completion. Considering that it is quite hard to extract perspective information from a single image, this work starts from a friendly and portable interactive platform to obtain the basic perspective data. Then, in order to make this interface less sensitive, easier and more flexible, a perspective-rectification based correction mechanism is proposed to iteratively update the locations of the initial points selected by users. At last, a complanate mesh is generated by the geometry calculations from these corrected initial positions. This mesh must approximate the perspective direction and the structure topology as much as possible so that the filling process can be conducted under the constraint of the perspective effects of the original image. Our experiments show the results with good qualities and performances, and also demonstrate the validity of our approaches by various perspective scenes and images.

  • 본 논문에서는 OFDM(Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing)시스템에서 OFDM 심벌 타이밍 옵셋에 따른 4096QAM 의 uncoded-BER(Bit Error Rate) 및 성상도를 측정하였다. uncoded-BER 은 수신기의 FEC(Forward Error Correction) 복호기 이전에서 측정된 BER 을 의미한다. 측정을 위해, OFDM 을 사용하는 DVB-C2(Digital Video Broadcasting for Cable Systems 2) 송수신기를 FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array)를 이용하여 구현하였으며, OFDM 심벌의 CP(Cyclic Prefix)를 이용하여 OFDM 심벌 동기를 수행하였다. 일반적으로, OFDM 심벌 동기는 OFDM 심벌에서 CP 가 반복된다는 특성을 이용한 상관기를 사용한다. 또한, ISI(Inter Symbol Interference) 및 ICI(Inter Channel Interference)를 최소화하기 위해, 채널의 최대 지연시간을 고려하여 CP 내에서 OFDM 심벌 동기가 획득된다.

  • Accurate estimates of in place thickness of early age (3 to 28 days after casting) concrete pavements are needed, where a thickness accuracy of ${\pm}6mm$ is desired. The impact-echo method is a standardized non-destructive technique that has been applied for this task. However, the ability of impact-echo to achieve this precision goal is affected by Vp (measured) and ${\beta}$ (assumed) values that are applied in the computation. A deeper understanding of the effects of these parameters on the accuracy of impact-echo should allow the technique to be improved to meet the desired accuracy goal. In this paper, the results of experimental tests carried out on a range of concrete slabs are reported. Impact-echo thickness estimation errors caused by material property gradients and sensor type are identified. Correction factors to the standard analysis method are proposed to correct the identified errors and to increase the accuracy of the standard method. Results show that improved accuracy can be obtained in the field by applying these recommendations with the standard impact-echo method.

  • The GOCI imagery can be an effective alternative to monitor short-term changes over terrestrial environments. This study aimed to assess the radiometric characteristics of the GOCI multispectral imagery for land applications. As an initial approach, we compared GOCI at-sensor radiance with MODIS data obtained simultaneously. Dynamic range of GOCI radiance was larger than MODIS over land area. Further, the at-sensor radiance over various land surface targets were tested by vicarious calibration. Surface reflectance were directly measured in field using a portable spectrometer and indirectly derived from the atmospherically corrected MODIS product over relatively homogeneous sites of desert, tidal flat, bare soil, and fallow crop fields. The GOCI radiance values were then simulated by radiative transfer model (6S). In overall, simulated radiance were very similar to the actual radiance extracted from GOCI data. Normalized difference vegetation index (NDVI) calculated from the GOCI bands 5 and 8 shows very close relationship with MODIS NDVI. In this study, the GOCI imagery has shown appropriate radiometric quality to be used for various land applications. Further works are needed to derive surface reflectance over land area after atmospheric correction.

  • This paper presents a high-speed low-complexity pipelined Reed-Solomon (RS) (255,239) decoder using pipelined reformulated inversionless Berlekamp-Massey (pRiBM) algorithm and its folded version (PF-RiBM). Also, this paper offers efficient pipelining and folding technique of the RS decoders. This architecture uses pipelined Galois-Field (GF) multipliers in the syndrome computation block, key equation solver (KES) block, Forney block, Chien search block and error correction block to enhance the clock frequency. A high-speed pipelined RS decoder based on the pRiBM algorithm and its folded version have been designed and implemented with 90-nm CMOS technology in a supply voltage of 1.1 V. The proposed RS(255,239) decoder operates at a clock frequency of 700 MHz using the pRiBM architecture and also operates at a clock frequency of 750 MHz using the PF-RiBM, respectively. The proposed architectures feature high clock frequency and low-complexity.

  • This paper presents an equalizer reducing CCI(cell-to-cell interference) in MLC NAND flash memory. High growth of the flash memory market has been driven by two combined technological efforts that are an aggressive scaling technique which doubles the memory density every year and the introduction of MLC(multi level cell) technology. Therefore, the CCI is a critical factor which affects occurring data errors in cells. We introduced an equation of CCI model and designed an equalizer reducing CCI based on the proposed equation. In the model, we have been considered the floating gate capacitance coupling effect, the direct field effect, and programming methods of the MLC NAND flash memory. Also we design and verify the proposed equalizer using Matlab. As the simulation result, the error correction ratio of the equalizer shows about 20% under 20nm NAND process where the memory channel model has serious CCI.
