Absorptive material arrangement method for effective interior noise control is proposed. Sound field with arbitrary boundary condition is formulated by Kirchhoff-Helmholtz integral equation. A simple example such as a rectangular cavity will present physical meaning between changing boundary condition and control of sound field. The effect of changing boundary condition is expressed in modal admittance. From this formulation, an admittance map is presented. The admittance map is the figure to represent position where absorptive material is attached. The admittance map can be assigned to each resonant frequency. There, however, may be common area of those maps. Then, frequency robust arrangement of absorptive material in noise control will be presented.
In this paper, the characteristics of a single phase induction motor which is considered the space harmonic flux by the double revolving field theory is analysed. As the rotor resistance for the fundamental flux is separated from the resistance for the rotor bar and end-ring, and the rotor leakage reactnace is separated from the skew leakage reactance and the other, so the circuit constants for the space harmonic flux is expressed by the circuit constants for the fundamentals. As the ratio of the circuit constants for the magnetizing reactance is used, the generalized equivalent circuit is made up. the characteristic equation which is able to analysis the subdivided characteristics by the above circuit is induced. The ratio of the circuit constants and the skew angle being changed, the variations of the torque-speed characteristics for the fundamentals and harmonics is examined by this equation.
In this paper, we present a new combined field integral equation (CFIE) formulation for the analysis of electromagnetic scattering from arbitrarily shaped three-dimensional perfectly conducting and piecewise homogeneous dielectric composite body. The conducting/dielectric structures are approximated by planar triangular patches, which have the ability to conform to any geometrical surface. The surface covering the conducting body is replaced by an equivalent surface electric current and the surface of the dielectric by equivalent electric and magnetic currents. The all equivalent currents are approximated in terms of RWG (Rao, Wilton, Glisson) functions. The objective of this paper is to illustrate that the CFIE is a valid methodology in removing defects, which occur at a frequency corresponding to an internal resonance of the structure. Numerical results are presented and compared with solutions obtained using other formulations.
In this study, the DC dielectric breakdown of epoxy composites used for PCB material was experimented and then its data were simulated by Weibull distribution equation. The more hardener increased the stronger breakdown strength at low temperature because of cross-linked density by the virtue of ester radical, and the breakdown strength of specimens with filler was lower than it of non-filler specimens because it is believed that the adding filler forms interface and charge is accumulated in it, therefore the molecular motility is raised, the electric field is concentrated, and the acceleration of electron and the growth of electron avalanche are early accomplished. From the analysis of Weibull distribution, it was confirmed that as the allowed breakdown probability was given by 0.1[%], the applied field value needed to be under 21.5[kV/mm].
A new method of obtaining the eigenmode of an anisotropic planar waveguide is studied. The planar waveguide can be composed of an arbitrary number of isotropic or uniaxially anisotropic layers, provided all the optical axes arc lying in the incidence plane. Since the equation of motion for the TE mode is not different from that for the TE mode in an isotropic planar waveguide, only the equation of motion for the TM mode is of any concern. For this kind of device structure, the Maxwell's equations can be solved for one component of the electric field and one component of the magnetic field. The resulting coupled set of equations is linear in the propagation constant and the eigenmode can be easily obtained using canned numerical routines.
An enhanced first shear deformation theory for composite plate is developed. The detailed process is as follows. Firstly, the theory is formulated by modifying higher order zigzag theory. That is, the higher order theory is separated into the warping function representing the higher order terms and lower order terms. Secondly, the relationships between higher order zig-zag field and averaged first shear deformation field based on the Reissner-Mindlin's plate theory are derived. Lastly, the effective shear modulus is calculated by minimizing error between higher order energy and first order energy. Then the governing equation of FSDT is solved by substituting shear modulus into effective shear modulus. The recovery processing with the nodal unknown obtained from governing equation is performed. The accuracy of the present proposed theory is demonstrated through numerical examples. The proposed method will serve as a powerful tool in the prediction of laminated composite plate.

Concentration and discharge have been intensively monitored at the drainage canal in a paddy field area during storm-periods. Among 4 storm runoffs, the No. 2 and No. 3 runoff was in the fertilizer application period. The specific load-specific discharge equation L=aQ\ulcorner have different characteristics for the pollutants. The coefficient of b generally shows values of more than 1 for T-N, about 1 for COD\ulcorner, and less than 1 for T-P. For same specific discharge, No. 2 runoff shows higher specific load than other runoffs. For the coefficient of determination of the L-Q equation, COD\ulcorner is higher than T-N and T-P. The mean concentration of direct runoff, significantly depending on the storm events, is 0.6 to 8.3mg/ιfor T-N, 0.05 to 0.51 mg/ι for T-P, and 10.0 to 18.3 mg/ι for COD\ulcorner.
In this paper, some dominant aeroacoustic characteristics of fans used in appliances are reviewed. The numerical attempts to analyze tile aeroacoustic noise of fans are briefly reviewed for various fans. Axial fans for refrigerator, cross flow fans fer air-conditioner, sirocco fans and turbo fans are anal: zed. The unsteady flow field, which is essential data for aeroacoustic analysis, is calculated by commercial CFD code. Acoustic pressure is calculated by Ffowcs Williams and Hawkings equation and Lowson's equation. During the analysis, dominant noise sources are identified.
This paper proposes an exact numerical method for analyzing a dipole antenna attached on a dielectric slab. A Green's function for an infinitesimal current filament on a dielectric slab is derived and a field integral equation is formulated using a boundary condition. The moment Method is used to solve the field integral equation to otain current distribution on the antenna. Since an asymptotic function is used to compute the impedance matrix elements, the computataion time is significantly reduced. Using the computed current distributions, the input impedances, the resonance lengths and the resonant resistances of the antennas for various values of the thichnessandthe dielectric constant of the slab are obtained. It was found that the resonant length and the resonant resistance are decrease monotonically as the dielectric constant increases, however, those are changed up-and-down as the substrate thickness increases.

The present paper is dealing with the investigation of the stress field around the infinitely long cylindrical cavity, of a circular cross section, contained in the transversally isotropic elastic continuum. Investigation is based upon the determination of the stress function that satisfies the biharmonic equation, for the given boundary conditions and for rotationaly symmetric loading. The solution of the partial differential equation of the problem is given in the form of infinite series of Bessel's functions. Determination of the stress-strain field around cavities is a common requirement for estimation of safety of underground rock excavations.
