  • Since the steel fiber used in concrete to improve shear and ductility capacity, a number of laboratory tests have been studied to define shear strengthening effect according steel fiber contents in concrete. This study investigates shear strengthening effect of steel fiber in RC columns according to compression strength of concrete. From the structural performance test, following conclusions can be made; the maximum enhancement of shear strengthening effect can be achieved at about 1.0 %~l.5 % of steel fiber contents in comparison with shear capacity ratio, and ductility capacity slightly improved as steel fiber contents increased.

  • This study evaluates the shear strength of steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) beams from a database, which consists of extensive experimental results of 222 SFRC beams having no stirrups. In order to predict the analytical shear strength of the SFRC beams more precisely, the selected beams were sorted into six different groups based on their ultimate concrete strength (low strength with $f_c^{\prime}$ <50 MPa and high strength with $f_c^{\prime}$ <50 MPa), span-depth ratio (shallow beam with $a/d{\geq}2.5 $and deep beam with a/d<2.5) and steel fiber shape (plain, crimped and hooked). Principal component and multiple regression analyses were performed to determine the most feasible model in predicting the shear strength of SFRC beams. A variety of statistical analyses were conducted, and compared with those of the existing equations in estimating the shear strength of SFRC beams. The results showed that the recommended empirical equations were best suited to assess the shear strength of SFRC beams more accurately as compared to those obtained by the previously developed models.

  • Investigations on the behavior of steel fiber reinforced high strength concrete beams subjected to predominant shear are accomplished to determine their diagonal shear strength including ultimate shear strength. The par¬ameters varied were the fiber volume fraction(Vf) of the steel-fibers and shear span to depth ratio(a/d). The test result show that diagonal shear strength and ultimate shear strength are increased significantly due to crack arrest mechamsm. Predictive equations are suggested for evaluating the diagonal cracking strength and ultimate shear strength of the fiber reinforced high strength concrete beams.

  • In this paper, a study on the physical properties of mortar applying 3D Textile was conducted to compensate for the shortcomings of the existing concrete surface repair and reinforcement method. In the tests conducted to analyze the physical properties, compressive strength, flexural strength, and dynamic modulus measurement tests were conducted. As a result of the compressive strength test, as the number of surfaces to which the stereoscopic fiber was applied increased, the amount of displacement and strength reduction rate increased, and the flexural strength also increased as the number of surfaces to which the stereoscopic fiber was applied increased. In addition, it was confirmed that the use of stereoscopic fibers tended to decrease the dynamic modulus of elasticity. This result is a characteristic of the application of stereoscopic fibers, and it caused a decrease in compressive strength due to a decrease in the mortar content of the part to which the stereoscopic fib er was applied, and the high tensile force of the stereoscopic fiber is believed to have affected the increase in flexural strength.

  • A lot of considerations on the spatting by fire of high performance concrete should be taken into for fire resistance of the concrete structures. In this paper, fire resistance of high performance concrete is described using polypropylene fiber, which is known to be contributed to fire resistance. Strength level and member size are varied with. According to test results, spatting by fire takes place more easily, as W/C increases and member size decreases. It shows that concrete containing polypropylene fiber has good effects on preventing spatting by fire. In case high performance concrete does not contain polypropylene fiber, residual strength shows to be decreased remarkably compared :o that of normal concrete. Whereas, in case 0.1% of polypropylene fiber contents, high performance concrete shows higher residual strength than that of normal concrete. As member size is smaller, residual strength shows to be decreased.

  • Using waste glass in concrete can cause crack and strength loss by the expansion of alkali-silica reaction(ASR). In this study, ASR expansion and properties of strength were analyzed in terms of brown waste glass content, and fibers(steel fiber, polypropylene fiber) and fiber content for reduction ASR expansion due to waste glass. In this accelerated ASTM C 1260 test of waste glass, pessimum content can not be found. Also, when used the fibers with waste g1ass, there is an effect on reduction of expansion and strength loss due to ASR between the alkali in the cement paste and the silica in the waste glass. Specially, adding 1.5 vol.% of steel fiber to 20% of waste glass the expansion ratio was reduced by 40% and flexural strength was developed by up to 110% comparing with only Waste glass ( $80^{\circ}C$ $H_{2}$ O curing).

  • An experimental investigation was carried out to study the strength and behavior of reinforced cement concrete (RCC) frames with ferrocement and fiber reinforced concrete infill panel. Seven numbers of $1/4^{th}$ scaled down model of one bay-three storey frames were tested under reverse cyclic loading. Ferrocement infilled frames and fiber reinforced concrete infilled frames with varying volume fraction of reinforcement in infill panels viz; 0.20%, 0.30%, and 0.40% were tested and compared with the bare frame. The experimental results indicate that the strength, stiffness and energy dissipation capacity of infilled frames were considerably improved when compared with the bare frame. In the case of infilled frames with equal volume fraction of reinforcement in infill panels, the strength and stiffness of frames with fiber reinforced concrete infill panels were slightly higher than those with ferrocement infill panels. Increase in volume fraction of reinforcement in the infill panels exhibited only marginal improvement in the strength and behavior of the infilled frames.

  • The hygrothermal effect on three different types of Glass/Polypropylene was investigated under the environment of 4$0^{\circ}C$ distilled water. The residual strength of Glass/Polypropylene with randomly oriented and fiber content of 4-wt%(R40) was found stable under the moisture content of 0.2%. In this case, the maximum moisture content was 0.53%. On the other hand, Glass/Polypropylene with unidirection and 42wt%(U42) and 50st%(U50) fiber content, respectively, showed the residual strength less stable than R40. However, the maximam moisture contents were 0.52% and 0.45% respectively.

  • In recent years there has been a growing interest for the use of natural fibers in composite applications due to their low cost, environmental friendliness, and good mechanical properties. The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristic of bending strength on bamboo fiber reinforced polymer composites. The parameters of RTM process depend on the weight ratio of bamboo fiber and resin, the number of bamboo ply and amount of hardening agent. Mechanical properties was investigated for each process factor of polymer composites. Test result shows that bending strength was a maximum(approximately 85MPa) value when composite thickness was 6mm and weight ratio of resin was 13%.
