Mg-Zn Ferrites의 저온소결화 (Low Temperature Sintering Mg-Zn Ferrites)

  • 본 논문에서는 최근 고품위 TV 및 고정세도 디스플레이용으로 화상의 정세도를 향상시키기 위해 수평주파수를 높이려는 움직임이 있어, 편향 요크용 페라이트 코아에는 고주파수 영역에 있어서도 코아로스가 낮은 재료가 요구되고 있는 실정이다. Mg-Zn 페라이트에 있어서 화학조성 및 프로세스가 미세구조에 미치는 영향에 착안하여 저온 소결화를 하였다. 저손실인 Mg-Zn계 Ferrite에 Cu를 첨가하였다. MgO, ZnO, $Fe_2$$O_3$, CuO를 선택한 후 조성비의 변화를 두며 CuO를 MgO로 치환하였다. 이 시료를 $980∼1350^{\circ}C$까지 3시간 소결하였다. 측정은 투자율, 전력손실, 수축율, 코아로스를 측정하였다. 시료의 수축율을 개시하는 온도는 $900^{\circ}C$부근이며 Cu치환에 따라 수축율이 증가하였으며, Cu 치환에 따라 소성온도가 약 $-50∼-75^{\circ}C$ 낮아졌다.

  • In contrast to a conventional transformer, the flat transformer is made using a number of small ferrite cores. Two cores for transformer and one core for inductor, which composed one module. Many modules can be connected together to form a flat matrix transformer. This structural arrangement eliminates the single hot spot problem in conventional transformers and permits high current density pertains at high frequency. In this study, the ferrite magnetic cores of Mn-Zn system for the Flat transformer were manufactured and the electrical and magnetic characteristics of its tested. The power loss of sample FO2(Mn-Zn ferrite) sintered at $1350^{\circ}C$ was $350kW/m^3$ in test conditions of 250kHz, 200mT and $100^{\circ}C$, which showed the good power loss property in high frequency. The power loss of FO2 samples has been studied as a function of magnetic flux density and frequency. Steinmetz exponent was 2.82 at 250kHz and 2.73 at 500kHz. These results illustrated the switching of power loss mechanism in ferrite core from hysteresis losses to eddy current losses or others.

The Electromagnetic and Thermal Properties of the Mn-Zn Ferrite for the Power Line Communication

  • The electromagnetic properties and thermal behavior of Mn-Zn ferrite cores for the blocking filter of PLC application were investigated as the function of additives. The highest density and permeability were 4.98 g/㎤ and 8,221, respectively and were obtained to the specimen with composition of MnO 24 mol%, ZnO 25 mol% and Fe$_2$O$_3$51 mol%, added MoO$_3$ of 400 ppm, SiO$_2$ of 100 ppm, and CaO of 200 ppm. The uniform grains were organized, and the microstructures were compacted due to reduction of pores in the specimen. The permeability was increased up to 13,904 as the temperature of specimen increased to 110。C. However, it was decreased precipitously under 100 over 110。C. The exothermic behavior was observed in the frequency range from 1 kHz to 1 MHz, and the maximum temperature of specimen was 102。C at 1 MHz. In the consequence, the Mn-Zn ferrite core developed in this research will maintain the stable electromagnetic properties since the temperature of ferrite core rose to 93 。C in the range of 100 kHz to 450 kHz bandwidth qualified for PLC. The blocking filters were designed for single phase and three phases using the in-line and non-contact core. The best attenuation ratios of -46.46 dB and -73.9 dB were measured in the range of 100 kHz to 450 kHz bandwidth, respectively.

Electromotive Force Characteristics of Current Transformer According to the Magnetic Properties of Ferromagnetic Core

  • The most common structure of the current transformer (CT) consists of a length of wire wrapped many times around a silicon steel ring passed over the circuit being measured. Therefore, the primary circuit of CT consists of a single turn of the conductor, with a secondary circuit of many tens or hundreds of turns. The primary winding may be a permanent part of the current transformer, with a heavy copper bar to carry the current through the magnetic core. However, when the large current flows into a wire, it is difficult to measure its magnitude of current because the core is saturated and the core shows magnetic nonlinear characteristics. Therefore, we proposed a newly designed CT which has an air gap in the core to decrease the generated magnetic flux. Adding the air gap in the magnetic path increases the total magnetic reluctance against the same magnetic motive force (MMF). Using a ferrite core instead of steel also causes the generation of low magnetic flux. These features can protect the magnetic saturation of the CT core compared with the steel core. This technique can help the design of the CT to obtain a special shape and size.

  • Due to high permeability of the ferrite cores, the characteristics of the inductively coupled plasma(ICP) are expected to be greatly improved. We investigated the effect of the ferrite cores on conventional inductively coupled plasma. It was observed that the current and voltage in the ICP antenna are slightly decreased and the power transfer efficiency is increased. However, due to eddy current and hysteresis loss, plasma density in the ICP with the ferrite cores is not increased. It seems that the ICP with the ferrite cores at low frequency ($\∼$100 kHz) will be greatly improved since the losses at the low frequency can be negligible.

  • This dissertation discuses about a ferrite core plasma source using low operating frequency without sputtering problem by the stored electric field. Compared with the conventional RF power system with 13.56MHz switching frequency, the proposed plasma power system is only separated at 400kHz, so that it makes possible to use of low cost switching elements, PWM control and soft switching. Moreover, it could improve the coupling efficiency for plasma and antenna by using the ferrite core in order to transfer the energy of the load This dissertation tried to analyze new plasma generation method for the plasma generation system by modeling the plasma load and grafting the concept of impedance matching in order to interpret it with the formula This dissertation verified the ferrite core inductive coupling plasma source authorized for 400kHz of low frequency power by applying to the semi-conductor ash process thru the measurement of ash capacity and uniformed plasma distribution on the actual wafer.

  • In recent, there have been several developments in lamp technology that promise savings in electrical power consumption and improved quality of the lighting space. Above all, the advantage of ring-shaped electrodeless fluorescent lamp is the removal of internal electrodes and heating filaments that are a light-limiting factor of conventional fluorescent lamps. The ring-shaped electrodeless lamp is intended as a high efficacy replacement for the incandescent reflector lamp in many applications. Therefore, the life time of ring-shaped electrodeless fluorescent lamps is substantially higher than that of conventional fluorescent lamps and last up to 60,000 hours. In this paper, we present measurement results of electrical characteristics of a ring-shaped electrodeless fluorescent lamp as a function of frequency and number of coil turns using a highly permeable Mn-Zn ferrite. It is found that the impedance are increased while the quality factor decreases as frequency increases.

  • Ni$_{1-x}$-Zn$_{x}$ ferrite는 매우 큰 저항과 적은 eddy current loss를 가지고 있어 transfomer core나 radio frequency coil같은 high power device등의 전자 재료로 이용된다[1]. Ni$_{1-x}$-Zn$_{x}$ ferrite의 합성에는 여러 가지 방법이 이용되고 있으나 oxide/carbonate를 이용하여 120$0^{\circ}C$ 이상의 고온의 열을 가해 하소하는 solid-state reation과 diethylamine을 이용하여 metal nitrate를 공침 하는 coprecipition방법, sol-gel 방법 등의 wet chemical method가 가장 일반적이다[2-3].
