A 50 day feeding trial was conducted with White Leghorn (WL) laying hens, 42 weeks old, to determine if feeding of varying levels of aflatoxin (AF), ochratoxin A (OA) or their combinations has any effect on their performance and egg quality parameters. Feeding of $T_4$, $T_7$, $T_8$, $T_9$ and $T_10$ caused significant reduction in feed intake of hens. Hen day egg productions were significantly reduced at all the levels of toxins except 0.5 ppm of AF. Maximum reduction in egg production was noticed at 2 and 4 ppm of AF and OA, respectively. Average body weight and egg weight were not affected by toxin feeding. The feed efficiency in terms of net feed efficiency and feed consumed per dozen egg produced was significantly reduced at higher levels of both the toxins and their combinations. Feed consumption for production of 1 kg egg mass remained uninfluenced due to aflatoxin feeding whereas significant increase in the value of the same was noticed at 4 ppm level of OA and combination of 1 and 2 ppm of AF and 2 and 4 ppm of OA ($T_9$ and $T_10$), respectively. Various levels of OA (1-4 ppm) and all the combination of two toxins ($T_8$, $T_9$ and $T_10$) significantly altered the shape index of eggs in laying hens. The shell thickness was significantly reduced by higher level of AF (2 ppm), OA (2 and 4 ppm) and their combination. Albumen index, Haugh Unit and yolk index remained unchanged due to incorporation of toxins in the diet. It is concluded that AF, OA either singly or in combination at higher levels could depress the performance in terms of egg production and feed efficiency significantly. The egg quality parameters i.e. shape index and shell thickness were also significantly affected.
Recent developments of Laser metal 3D deposition with wire feeding are reviewed which provide an alternative to powder feeding method. The wire feeding direction, angle and position as well as laser power, wire feeding rate, and deposition speed are found to be key parameters to make quality deposition with high throughput. When compared with the powder feed, the wire feed shows higher material efficiency, higher deposition rate, and smoother surface. Large elongated columnar grains which have epitaxial growth across deposit layers are observed in deposit cross sections. The growth direction is parallel to the thermal gradient during the deposit process. Tensile properties are found to be dependent on the direction due to the anisotropic deposit property. A real-time feedback control is demonstrated to be effective to improve the deposition stability.
Trichloroethylene (TCE) is an environmental contaminant provoking genetic mutation and damages to liver and central nerve system even at low concentrations. A practical scheme is reported using toluene as a primary substrate to revitalize the biofilter column for an extended period of TCE degradation. The rate of trichloroethylene (TCE) degradation by Pseudomonas putida F1 at $25^{\circ}C$ decreased exponentially with time, without toluene feeding to a biofilter column ($11\;cm\;I.D.{\times}95\;cm$ height). The rate of decrease was 2.5 times faster at a TCE concentration of $970\;{\mu}g/L$ compared to a TCE concentration of $110\;{\mu}g/L$. The TCE itself was not toxic to the cells, but the metabolic intermediates of the TCE degradation were apparently responsible for the decrease in the TCE degradation rate. A short-term (2 h) supply of toluene ($2,200\;{\mu}g/L$) at an empty bed residence time (EBRT) of 6.4 min recovered the relative column activity by $43\%$ when the TCE removal efficiency at the time of toluene feeding was $58\%$. The recovery of the TCE removal efficiency increased at higher incoming toluene concentrations and longer toluene supply durations according to the Monod type of kinetic expressions. A longer duration ($1.4{\sim}2.4$ times) of toluene supply increased the recovery of the TCE removal efficiency by $20\%$ for the same toluene load.
The degradation of 4-chlorophenol(4-CP) by various AOPs(Advanced Oxidation Processes) with continuous feeding of $H_2O_2$, including the ultraviolet/hydrogen peroxide, the Fenton and the photo-Fenton process has been investigated. The photo-Fenton process showed the highest removal efficiency for degradation of 4-chlorophenol than those of other AOPs including the Fenton process and the combined UV process with continuous feeding of $H_2O_2$. In the photo-Fenton process, the optimal experimental condition for 4-CP degradation was obtained at pH 3. Also the 4-CP removal efficiency increased with decreasing of the initial 4-CP concentration. 4-chlorocatechol and 4-chlororesorcinol were identified as photo-Fenton reaction intermediates, and the degradation pathways of 4-CP in the aqueous phase during the photo-Fenton reaction were proposed.

A feeding trial of two extruded pellets (EPI, 45% crude protein with 7% crude lipid and EP2, 47% crude protein with 10% crude lipid)${\times}$ two satiation rates (satiation and 80% satiation)${\times}$ three feeding frequencies (three, two and one meal a day) factorial design with three replications was carried out to investigate the optimum feeding frequency and satiation rate for growth of juvenile flounder. Flounder averaging 55 g were fed a extruded pellets for 58 days. Daily feed intake was affected by dietary composition, feeding frequency and satiation rate (P<0.05). Weight gain of fish fed the EP1 and EP2 was not affected by both dietary composition and feeding frequency (P>0.05), but affected by feeding satiation rate (P<0.05). Weight gain of fish fed the each of EP1 and EP2 twice daily with satiation was the highest among treatments, but was not significantly different to that of fish fed the diets three times daily with satiation feeding. Feed efficiency and protein efficiency ratio of the fish were not affected by dietary composition, feeding frequency and satiation rate (P>0.05). Moisture, crude protein and crude lipid contents of the muscle of fish were affected by satiation rate. Moisture and crude protein contents of the liver were affected by dietary composition. Based on fish performance results, it can be concluded that the proper feeding frequency for the growth of juvenile flounder grown from 55 g to 90 g is two meals a day with satiation feeding, regardless of dietary composition used in this study.

To evaluate impacts of the construction noise, Trionyx sinensis, inland fishers aquacultural organism, were exposed to control groups (about 55 dB) and noise groups (80 dB). The survival, growth rate and feeding efficiency of the juvenile Trionyx sinensis were measured at 10, 20 and 30 days intervals (each 9 hours/day). No significant mortality occurred during the experiments, but growth rates (1.7 times) and feeding efficiency (1.83 times) showed significant reduction in time-dependent manner. Also, serum cortisol (6.7 times) and corticosterone levels (1.37 times) in noise groups significantly increased by the noise exposure, compared to the controls, In conclusion, this study may provide the fundamental knowledge on adverse effects Trionyx sinensis and apply to assessments on the impacts of aquaculture industry by construction noise.

A 15-week feeding experiment was conducted to determine the effects of feeding frequency from 2 different formulated diets on growth, feed efficiency and body composition in juvenile Korean rockfish (Sebastes schlegeli). Duplicate groups of the 30 fish averaging 25 g were fed the control diet containing $58\%$ fish meal and the experimental diet containing $40\%$ fish meal, $10\%$ meat meal, $3\%$ corn gluten meal, $3\%$ soybean meal, and $3\%$ blood meal as protein sources at different feeding frequencies of 2 times daily, once a day in the morning or afternoon, once in 2 days, or given no food. Growth and feed efficiency of the fish were affected by diets (P<0.05), whereas these values were unaffected by feeding frequencies (P>0.05). Feed intake (${\%}$ of body wt.) of the fish fed once in 2 days was lower than that of the fish fed 2 times daily and once a day (P<0.05), Moisture, protein, lipid and ash contents of liver and muscle were not influenced by different diets and feeding frequencies (P>0.05). These results indicate that once a day or once in 2 days feeding regimen must be more effective and economical than that of 2 times daily for juvenile Korean rorkfish.
The experiment was conducted t determine the effects of water temperature and daily feeding rate on Koran rockfish growth. The first experiment was carried out to know the growth of the fish in the different water temperature. The second experiment was carried out to know the effects of feeding rate of the fish. In the first experiment, feed efficiency was unaffected by the different water temprature 12, 15 and $18^{\circ}C$, but feed intake and growth rate were affected by the water temperature. Feed intake and growth rate of the fish reared in $15^{\circ}C$ were higher than those of the other groups. In the second experiment, feed efficiency was unaffected by feeding rate except the starve group. Daily growth rate of the fish fed 1.0% diet/BW or more. HSI, VSI, condition factor, GOT, GPT, TG, GL and Ht of fed groups were unaffected by the feeding rate in the experiment. Absoption ratios of protein and lipid were not different with the different feeding rates in fed fish groups. These results indicate that the optimum daily feeding rate of yearling Korean rockfish is about 70-80% of satiation rate.

It is an essential subject to decrease the mass of a launch vehicle for improving performance and efficiency of space launch system. Particularly, reducing the engine supporting area is necessary for high efficiency of propulsion system with clustered engine systems. The engine supporting area is related to the branch location of the oxidizer feeding line. This article deals the performance variation of the propulsion system such as the mass of the oxidizer feeding line, pressurization pressure of the oxidizer tank, and the onset of nucleation boiling in the oxidizer pipe with the branch location of the main feeding line.
To examine factors affecting feeding efficiency of grey herons (Ardea cinerea), the foraging behavior was studied at a reservoir in Asan city, Chungcheongnam-do, South Korea during the breeding seasons (from April to July) of 2006 and 2007. Four factors (age of foraging birds, time of day, breeding stage, and microhabitat type) were analyzed. Adults were more efficient foragers than recently fledged juveniles, and they had a higher success rate than juveniles. About half of the adults caught large prey, whereas most juveniles caught only small prey. Adult grey herons had different feeding efficiency according to the breeding stage. Pecking and capture rates were high during the late period (fledging stage), and biomass intake rates were high during the early (incubating stage) and late periods. However, time of day had no significant effect on foraging activity of adult grey herons. Feeding activities of adult grey herons also showed significant variation among microhabitat types. Pecking and capture rates were higher in the submerged plants area, but capture success rate and biomass intake rate were not different according to microhabitat type.
