In order to investigate the effect of incorporation of thermally processed cereal (maize) grain and differently degradable protein sources in the calf starter, twenty four newly born crossbred $(Bos\;taurus{\times}Bos\;indicus)$ calves were assigned at random to six diets in a $3{\times}2$ factorial design involving three protein sources viz. groundnut meal (GN), cottonseed meal (CS) and meat and bone meal (MB), each along with two differently processed grain, namely ground raw (R) and pressure cooked (P) maize. The corresponding calf starters with green oats (Avena sativa) were given free-choice from 14 d onwards till the end of the 90 d experimental feeding. A restricted milk diet was fed till the age of weaning at 60 d. Total DM intake was not affected by cereal or protein sources. However, daily intake of DM (59.23 vs 66.45 g) and CP (12.38 vs 14.10 g) per kg $W^{0.75}$ was reduced (p<0.05) due to cereal processing. Better (p<0.05) feed and protein efficiencies after weaning and during entire period in calves fed processed maize resulted in a trend of higher $(p{\leq}092)$ growth rate especially when GN was the source of protein. In comparison among protein sources, calves fed MB diets tended to grow faster $(p{\leq}098)$ concurrent with a higher CP intake before weaning. It is thus evident that thermal processing of maize in the calf starter seems to improve calf performance. Moreover, results indicated that feeding of protein and starch sources of matching ruminal degradability may prove beneficial for early growth of crossbred calves.

The study has purposed in evaluating experiences for achievable accuracy and precision of time series at 3-D coordinates. It has been estimated from the kinematic medium-range baseline processing of Continuously Operating Reference Stations (CORS) for the potential application of crustal displacement analysis during an earthquake event. To derive the absolute coordinates of local CORS, it is highly recommended to include some of oversea country references, since it should be compromised of an observation network of the medium-range baselines within the length range from tens of kilometers to about 1,000 kilometers. A data processing procedure has reflected the dynamics of target stations as the parameter estimation stages, which have been applied to a series of experimental analysis in this research at the end. From the analysis of results, we could be concluded in that the subcentimeters-level of positioning accuracy and precision can be achievable. Furthermore, the paper summarizes impacts of satellite ephemeris, data lengths and levels of initial coordinate constraint into the positioning performance.
Tetramethylorthosilicate (TMOS) and silica nanopowder were synthesized from the waste silicon sludge containing 15% weight of silicon powder. TMOS, a precursor of silica nanopowder, was firstly prepared from the waste silicon sludge by catalytic chemical reaction. The maximum recovery of the TMOS was 100% after 5 hrs regardless of reaction temperature above $130^{\circ}C$. But the initial reaction rate became faster while the reaction temperature was higher than $150^{\circ}C$. As the methanol feedrate Increased from 0.8 ml/min to 1.4 ml/min, the yield of reaction was not varied after 3 hrs. Then, silica nanopowder was synthesized from the synthesized TMOS by flame spray pyrolysis. The morphology of as-prepared silica nanopowder was spherical and non-aggregated. The average particle diameters ranged from 9 nm to 30 nm and were in proportional to the precursor feed rate, and precursor concentration.

Nanotechnology in the food industry can increase the effectiveness of food ingredients. Nanotechnology can increase the bioavailability and absorption of bioactive compounds, enhance their stability, and improve the sensory quality of the product. Processed meat products are easily damaged due to bacterial activity. Advanced nanoemulsions as a meat preservative are nanoemulsions that can be used as preservative agents in meat products, particularly essential oil nanoemulsions, due to their antimicrobial and antioxidant properties. Its application is still limited to foods made from meat products. Therefore, this literature review examines nanoemulsion and its application in meat products and functionality improvement. Also, in the future, nanoemulsions in meat products must be made safe, and the government and businesses must work together to build consumer trust. It can be concluded that essential oil-based nanoemulsion has the potential to be used as an additive in meat products because it can kill bacteria, fight free radicals, improve flavor, and keep food fresh. Nanoemulsion is challenging in the meat industry because it can be toxic due to its tiny droplets (under 200 nm).
Conventional DLLs estimate the delay times of satellite signals individually and feed back these measurements to the VCO independently. But VDLL estimates delay times and user position directly and then estimate the feedback term for VCO using the estimated position changes. In this process, input measurements are treated as vectors and these vectors are used for navigation. First advantage of VDLL is that noise is reduced in all of the tracking channels making them less likely to enter the nonlinear region and fall below threshold. Second is that VDLL can operate successfully when the conventional independent parallel DLL approach fails completely. It means that VDLL receiver can get enough total signal power to track successfully to obtain accurate position estimates under the same conditions where the signal strength from each individual satellite is so low or week that none of the individual scalar DLL can remain in lock when operating independently. To operate VDLL successfully, it needs to know the initial user dynamics and position and prevents total system from the divergence. The suggested integration method is to use the inertial navigation system to provide initial dynamics for VDLL and to maintain total system stable. We designed the GPS/INS integrated navigation system. This new type of integrated system contained the vector pseudorange format generation block, VDLL signal processing block, position estimation block and the conversion block from position change to delay time feedback term aided by INS.

Four species of yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, Candida utilis, Saccharomycopsis flbuligera, and Schwanniomyces castellii were evaluated for their ability to bioconvert potato processing waste water into microbial protein and the resulting single-cell proteins were evaluated as protein sources for rainbow trout, using in vitro analyses. The studies indicated that Schwanniomyces castellii, which utilizes starch dircetly and converts it into cell mass efficiently, was suitable for the bioconversion. In the single-stage continuous bioconversion, the yield S. castellii cell mass, which contained approximately 37% protein, was 77%, at dilution rate 0.25 $h^{-1}$. Reduction of total carbohydrate was 81%. During batch fermentations, cell mass yield was about 72% and total carbohydrate reduction was 81%. Among the yeasts tested, S. castellii possessed the most fragile cell wall and had a favorable amino acid profile for salmonid fish; protein score of 86% (Met). In an in vitro pepsin digestibility test 80% digestibility (23~38% above control) was observed when cells were pre-heated in a steam bath for 30 min. Results presented should be regarded as being preliminary in nature because they were derived from single experiments.

Fuel cells convert a fuel together with oxygen in a highly efficient electrochemical reaction to electricity and water. Since the electrochemical reaction in the fuel cell stack dose not generate any noise, Fuel cell systems are expected to operated much quieter than combustion engines. However, the tonal noise and the broad band noise caused by a centrifugal compressor and an electric motor cause which is required to feed the ambient air to the cathode of the fuel cell stack with high pressure. In this study, the multi-camber perforated muffler is used to reduce noise. We propose optimized muffler model using an axiomatic design method that optimizes the parameters of perforated muffler while keeping the volume of muffler minimized.
Mesophase pitch is an important starting material for making a wide spectrum of industrial and advanced carbon products. It is produced by pyrolysis of petroleum residues. In this work, mesophase formation behavior in petroleum residues was studied to prepare environmentally-benign mesophase pitches, and the composition of petroleum residues and its influence on the mesophase formation was investigated. Two petroleum residues, i.e., clarified oil s (CLO-1, CLO-2) obtained from fluid catalytic cracking units of different Indian petroleum refineries, were taken as feed stocks. A third petroleum residue, aromatic extract (AE), was produced by extraction of one of the CLO-1 by using N-methyl pyrrolidone solvent. These petroleum residues were thermally treated at 380℃ to examine their mesophase formation behavior. Mesophase pitches produced as a result of thermal treatment were characterized physico-chemically, as well as by instrumental techniques such as Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, X-ray diffraction and thermogravimetry/derivative thermogravimetry. Thermal treatment of these petroleum residues led to formation of a liquid-crystalline phase (mesophase). The mesophase formation behavior in the petroleum residues was analyzed by optical microscopy. Mesophase pitch prepared from CLO-2 exhibited the highest mesophase content (53 vol%) as compared to other mesophase pitches prepared from CLO-1 and AE.
An extreme learning machine (ELM) is a recently proposed learning algorithm for a single-layer feed forward neural network. In this paper we studied the ensemble of ELM by using a bagging algorithm for facial expression recognition (FER). Facial expression analysis is widely used in the behavior interpretation of emotions, for cognitive science, and social interactions. This paper presents a method for FER based on the histogram of orientation gradient (HOG) features using an ELM ensemble. First, the HOG features were extracted from the face image by dividing it into a number of small cells. A bagging algorithm was then used to construct many different bags of training data and each of them was trained by using separate ELMs. To recognize the expression of the input face image, HOG features were fed to each trained ELM and the results were combined by using a majority voting scheme. The ELM ensemble using bagging improves the generalized capability of the network significantly. The two available datasets (JAFFE and CK+) of facial expressions were used to evaluate the performance of the proposed classification system. Even the performance of individual ELM was smaller and the ELM ensemble using a bagging algorithm improved the recognition performance significantly.

Fuel cell electric vehicles have some noise problems due to its air processing unit which is required to feed the ambient air into the fuel cell stack. Discrete-frequency noises are radiated from a centrifugal blower due to rotor-stator interaction. Their fundamental frequency is the blade passing frequency, which is determined by the number of rotor blades and their rotating speed. To reduce such noises, multi-chamber perforated muffler has been designed. In this paper, in order to improve the transmission loss of a perforated muffler, the relationship between the impedance model of a perforated hole and its noise reduction performance is studied, and the applicability of a short-length perforated muffler to air processing unit of fuel cell system is described using acoustic simulation results and experimental data. The acoustic velocity vector across the neck of a perforated hole is very important design factor to optimize the transmission of an intake muffler. The suggested short-length perforated muffler is effective on discrete-frequency noises while keeping the volume of intake muffler minimized.
