This study investigated the classification performance of a kNN classifier using the feature selection methods based on document frequency(DF) and collection frequency(CF). The results of the experiments, which used HKIB-20000 data, were as follows. First, the feature selection methods that used high-frequency terms and removed low-frequency terms by the CF criterion achieved better classification performance than those using the DF criterion. Second, neither DF nor CF methods performed well when low-frequency terms were selected first in the feature selection process. Last, combining CF and DF criteria did not result in better classification performance than using the single feature selection criterion of DF or CF.

In this paper , we propose an incremental approach for recognizing a class of machining features from a featurebased design model as a part design proceeds, utilizing various information such as nominal geometry, design intents, and design feature characteristics. The proposed apptroach can handle complex intersecting features and protrusion features designed on oblique faces. The class of recognized volumetric machining features can be expressed as Material Removal Shape Element Volumes (MRSEVs), a PDES/STEP-based library of machining features.

This study is to construct a general purpose library for a computer vision system development. The library includes many core algorithms required for computer vision systems such as image Processing algorithms, feature extracting methods, neural networks and etc. We have experimented the efficiency of the library by building a vehicle plate recognition system and the overall time and effort in development could be reduced to a certain extent.

This study aims to identify the most effective statistical feature selecting method and context window size for word sense disambiguation using supervised methods. In this study, features were selected by four different methods: information gain, document frequency, chi-square, and relevancy. The result of weight comparison showed that identifying the most appropriate features could improve word sense disambiguation performance. Information gain was the highest. SVM classifier was not affected by feature selection and showed better performance in a larger feature set and context size. Naive Bayes classifier was the best performance on 10 percent of feature set size. kNN classifier on under 10 percent of feature set size. When feature selection methods are applied to word sense disambiguation, combinations of a small set of features and larger context window size, or a large set of features and small context windows size can make best performance improvements.

The ultimate mission of the university library is to provide the various information services in support of the teaching, research, and public service missions of the university. The achievement of the mission requires the optimal development and timely revision of university library standard that can be used as an operating guidelines and assessment tools. On the basis of this justification, this study has compared the trend and feature of library standards in major countries(USA, Canada, UK, Japan, Taiwan), analysed the problems and limitations of legal and recommended standards in Korea, and suggested the revised plan of Korean university library standard focusing on collections, staffs, and facilities.

Recently, the interest and research on 360 camera and 360 image production are expanding. In this paper, we describe the feature extraction algorithm, alignment and image blending that make up the feature-based stitching system. And it deals with the theory of representative algorithm at each stage. In addition, the feature-based stitching system was implemented using OPENCV library. As a result of the implementation, the brightness of the two images is different, and it feels a sense of heterogeneity in the resulting image. We will study the proper preprocessing to adjust the brightness value to improve the accuracy and seamlessness of the feature-based stitching system.

High-speed classification method becomes an important research issue in text categorization systems. A fast text categorization technique, named feature value voting, is introduced recently on the text categorization problems. But the classification accuracy of this technique is not good as its classification speed. We present a novel approach for feature selection, named document-side feature selection, and apply it to feature value voting method. In this approach, there is no feature selection process in learning phase; but realtime feature selection is executed in classification phase. Our results show that feature value voting with document-side feature selection can allow fast and accurate text classification system, which seems to be competitive in classification performance with Support Vector Machines, the state-of-the-art text categorization algorithms.

This study, firstly, investigates the basic design type and special features of the shape and structure of The Grand People's Study House in North Korea which corresponds to The National Library of Korea in South Korea and the people's study house in the provinces that was unknown until now, the public library of North Korea with the combined type of school(student) library and public(adult) library in South Korea, and university libraries. Secondly, by analyzing the establishment background, documentary records and others, we researched the historical background of present architectural type and design, and the general difference from libraries in South Korea.

Library takes its way to digitalization to fill its role in modern information society. This study discusses social environment of this trend and investigates library circumstances, and refines the meaning of a library. A digital library is led by current stream of new media, rapid development of digital technology and recording methods, and revolution of information circulation and production such as electronic publishing. However, rich information sources in printed forms are even significant as a ground of a digital library. The digital library is not a brand-new feature of a library but the result of digitalization of information resources to accomplish the purpose of the library.
