나노구조 용사코팅층의 형성에 관한 기초적 연구 (Fundamental Study on the Formation of Nanostructured Coating Layer)

  • The wire-arc process is a low-cost thermal spray method simply utilizes electrical energy to melt the feedstock wire. It is more userful for field applications, especially to coat large surface area. In this paper, a special Fe-based alloy coatings by using the wire-arc process were developed. Nanoscale composite coatings were achieved either during spraying or through a post heat treatment. As-sprayed Fe-based alloy coatings had been an amorphous matrix structure, after heating to $700^{\circ}C$ for 10 minutes a solid state transformation occurred in the some fraction of amorphous matrix which resulted in the formation of nanostructured recrystallized phase. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and field emotional scanning electron microscope(FE-SEM) were applied to analyze the microstructure of the coatings. Additionally hardness and bend resistance of the Fe-based alloy coatings were examined, and these results were compared with those of partially stabilized zirconia(PSZ) coatings by using the plasma spray process.

Preparation and characterization of nanoflake composite multi core-shell SrFe12O19/Fe3O4/PEG/PPy

  • Nanoflake composite multi core-shell $SrFe_{12}O_{19}/Fe_3O_4$/PEG/Polypyrrole was synthesized by in situ polymerization method. In this paper, the fabrication of $SrFe_{12}O_{19}$ nanoflake is as first core by solgel method. Then fabricated a shell layer from magnetic nanoparticles of $Fe_3O_4$, which synthesized by coprecipitation technique, onto the $SrFe_{12}O_{19}$ nanoflake. Polyethylene glycol (PEG) as a polymer layer and as second shell was coated onto the before core-shell. Than core-shell $SrFe_{12}O_{19}/Fe_3O_4$/PEG was used as template for the preparation of $SrFe_{12}O_{19}/Fe_3O_4$/PEG/Polypyrrole composite. Final composite has a conductive property among $4.23{\times}10^{-2}Scm^{-1}$ and magnetic property about $M_s$=2.99 emu/g. Also final composite in soluble at organic solvent such as DMF and DMSO and has a flake structure. Conductivity and magnetic property respectively determine by four-probe instrument and vibrant sample magnetometer (VSM), morphology and article size determined by FE-SEM, TEM and XRD.

극박 방향성 전기강판에서 장력코팅에 의한 철손 감소효과 고찰 (Effect of tension coating on reducing iron losses of thin grain-oriented electrical steel sheets)

  • Effect of tension coating on reducing iron losses of thin grain-oriented 3% Si-Fe steel sheets was investigated. Conventional grain-oriented electrical steel sheets have a forsterite coating layer and a tension coating layer in order to apply tensile stress to the rolling direction of the sheets. However the proposed coating method in this paper is to form only a tension coating layer on the both surfaces of the sheets. Iron losses with the tension coating were reduced by 8% under the condition of 1.7 T and 60 Hz. Consequently the proposed tension coating is applicable to $80{\mu}m$-thick 3% Si-Fe steel sheets.

Fe-Scale과의 반응에 의한 $Cr_3C_2$계 복합체의 산화손상 (Oxidation of $Cr_3C_2$ Composites with Fe-Scale)

  • In a salb-preheating furnace of steel-making industry, the oxidation/degradation behavior of Cr3C2 ceramic composited dkid button reaction with scale in Fe-oxide system occurs and was thermodynamically examined. The reaction of scale with Cr3C2 skid button produces Cr3C2(s) and C(s), and Co gas is then evolved from the reaction of C(s) with Fe-scale. Cr3C2(s) from oxidation of Cr3C2(s) reacted with Fe-oxide(s) becomes high-melting chromite. The chromite acts as protection layer against further oxidation and improves resistance of the reaction of Cr3C2 skid button with Fe-scale.

Protective Ability Index of Rust Layer Formed on Weathering Steel Bridge

  • For a quantitative inspection on the performance of weathering steel bridges, we have investigated the relationship between the corrosion rate and the composition of the rust layers formed on weathering steel bridges located in various environments in Japan and applied a protective ability index (PAI) to the bridges. The corrosion rates were clearly classified by the PAI, ${\alpha}/{\gamma}*$ and sub index of $({\beta}+s)/{\gamma}*$, where $\alpha$, \gamma*, $\beta$ and s are the mass ratio of crystalline $\alpha-FeOOH$, the total of $\gamma$-FeOOH+ $\beta$-FeOOH + the spinel-type iron oxide (mainly $Fe_3O_4$), $\beta-FeOOH$ and spinel-type iron oxide, analyzed by powder X-ray diffraction, respectively. In the case of ${\alpha}/{\gamma}$*>1, the rust layer works protective enough to reduce the corrosion rate less than 0.01 mm/y. The sub index $({\beta}+s)/{\gamma}*$<0.5 or >0.5 classifies the corrosion rate of the non-protective rust layers, therefore the former state of the rust layer terms inactive and the latter terms active. The quantitative inspection of a weathering steel bridge requires a performance-inspection (PI) and periodical deteriorationinspections (DI). The PI can be completed by checking of the PAI, ${\alpha}/{\gamma}*$. The DI on the weathering steel bridges where deicing salt is sprinkled can be performed by checking the PAI, $({\beta}+s)/{\gamma}*$.

복합열처리된 열간 가공용 금형공구강의 기계적 성질 및 열처리특성에 관한 연구 (Study on the Heat Treatment Characteristics and Mechanical Properties of Hot Work Tool Steel by Using Combined Heat Treating)

  • The effect of gas mixing ratios during gas nitrocarburizing treatment on the formation of compound layer and the mechanical properties has been studied for hot work tool steel by using a combined heat treating technique. The thickness of compound and diffusion layers has been shown to grow as a parabolic relation with increasing the amount of ammonia at a given flow quantity of $CO_2$ gas. The compound layer consists mainly of ${\varepsilon}-Fe_3$(C, N) with small amounts of ${\gamma}^{\prime}-Fe_4N$ and ${\alpha}$-Fe. The combined heat treated hot work tool steel has shown that the thickness of compound layer increases with increasing nitrocarburizing time, but the rate of growth slows down as gas nitrocarburizing time goes more than two hours. Tensile properties have given a remarkable improvement. In particular, the wear resistance of combined heat treated hot work tool steel has exhibited an improvement of about 165% greater than that obtained from conventional quenching and multi-tempering treatments.

  • 적층구조 촉매층(Al/Fe/Al)을 이용하여 열 화학기상증착(thermal chemical vapor deposition ; TCVD)법을 통해 탄소 나노튜브를(carbon nanotubes ; CNTs)를 합성하였다. Raman spectroscopy, SEM 및 HR-TEM 분석결과, G/D는 22.7이며, 직경이 $1.14\;{\sim}\;1.32\;nm$인 금속성의 단일벽 탄소 나노튜브(single-walled CNTs ; SWCNTs)의 다발(bundle)들이 기판 전체에 network 구조로 형성되어 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이는 최상층의 Al이 촉매인 Fe의 응집현상(agglomeration)을 막아주는 역할을 하여 작고 균일한 핵 생성 사이트(nucleation site)를 통해 좁은 직경분포를 가진 단일벽 탄소 나노튜브가 합성되었음을 알 수 있다.

Buffer 층을 갖는 CoFe/ Cu/ Co 샌드위치 박막의 자기저항 특성 (Magnetoresistance of Buffer/CoFe/Cu/Co Sandwiches)

  • DC magnetron sputtering 방법으로 Corning glass 기판 위에 버퍼층을 Fe와 N $i_{81}$$Fe_{19}$로 바꾸어가면서 보자력이 다른 $Co_{90}$ F $e_{10}$와 Co를 이용하여 buffer/CoFe(35 .angs. )/Cu(t .angs. )/Co(35 .angs. )의 형태로 샌드위치 박막을 제작하고 버퍼층 두께 및 바자성층 Cu층 두께, 자성층 두께 변화에 따른 자기저항비 의존성을 조사하였다. 자기저항비와 포화 자기장( $H_{s}$ )은 버퍼층의 두께가 두꺼워짐에 따라 증가하다가 극대치 3%를 보인 후 완만하게 감소하였다. NiFe, Fe 버퍼층을 갖는 시료를 비교한 경우, 각각 CoFe층과 Co층 사이의 결합 자기장( $H_{int}$)은 큰 차이가 없었으나 NiFe 버퍼층을 갖는 시료가 minor 자기저항 곡선의 반가폭 $H_{w}$ 는 감소하고 자기저항(MR) 기울기(slope)와 관련된 field sensitivity(%/Oe)는 향상되었다.다.
