용융탄산염형 연료전지의 분리판 부식특성 (Corrosion characteristics of separator for MCFC)

  • The molten carbonate fuel cell has conspicuous features and high potential in being used as an energy converter of various fuels to electricity and heat. However, the MCFC which use strongly corrosive molten carbonate at 650[.deg. C] have many problem. Systematic investigation on corrosion behavior of Fe-based Cr has been done in ($62{\times}38$)mol % (Li+K)$CO_3$ melt at 923K by using steady state polarization and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy method. It was found that the corrosion current of these Fe-based alloys decreased with increasing Cr content, and this was attributed to the formation of $LiCrO_2$ layer at the surface .

Fe-35Ni-26Cr 주강 액상확산접합부의 고온기계적 특성에 미치는 접합조건의 영향 (Effect of Bonding Condition on High Temperature Mechanical Properties of TLP Bonded Joints of FE-35Ni-26Cr Alloy)

  • This study investigated the effects of bonding temperature and bonding atmosphere on high temperature mechanical properties of transient liquid phase(TLP) bonded joints of heat resistant alloy using MBF-50 insert metal. Specimens were bonded at 1,423~1,468K for 600s. Microconstituents of {TEX}$Cr_{7}(C,B)_{3}${/TEX}were formed in the bonded region when the bonding temperature was low. The amount of microcostituents in the bonded layer decreased with increasing the bonding temperature, and the microconstituents in the bonded layer disappeared at the bonding temperature above 1,468K. The tensile strength of the joints at elevated temperatures increased with the increase the bonding temperature and was the same level as one of the base metal in the bonding temperature over 1,453K. Microstructure and alloying element distributions of the bonded region bonded in Ar and $N_2$atmosphere were similar to those of the bonded in vacuum. The creep rupture strength and rupture lives of joints were almost identical to those of base metal.

대구지역 가로수잎의 중금속 (Heavy Metals in Leaves of Roadside Trees in Daegu City)

  • This study was conducted to determine the contents of heavy metals in leaves of roadside trees according to different growth stages in Daegu city. The orders of heavy metal contents in leaves of roadside tree and soil were Fe>Mn>Zn>Pb>Cu>Cr>Cd and Fe>Mn>Zn>Cu>Pb>Cr>Cd, respectively. The contents of heavy metals in leaves of roadside trees and soil showed an increasing tendency as the levels of traffic volume increased. The contents of heavy metals in loaves on October were higher than those on May. Zelkova serrate and Ginkgo biloba showed high contents of Cr, Cd and Pb.

열간단조용 STD 61강의 Boronizing 처리에 의한 표면 물성 변화 (A Study on the boronizing treatment of hot forgeability of STD61 steel by the paste method)

  • Hot forgeability of STD 61 steel was boronzed in boronizing paste mainly consisted of B4C and Na2B4O7 at various temperatures and times. Microhardness and thickness of boride layers were measured and distributions of B, Si, Cr and V on the cross section of specimen were observed by EPMA line analysis. Microscopic examination and results of EPMA showed that the boride layer consisted of two layers outer layer of FeB and inner layer of Fe2B. Microhardness of these boride layers was in the range of Hv 1800~2300. Thickness of boride layer increased with times and temperatures. Si-rich $\alpha$ layer was formed between boride layer and matrix. Element such as Cr concentration as Cr23(B, C)6 beneath the boride layer.

  • 본 연구에서는 중금속 크롬($Cr^{+6}$)이 포함된 흑색안료(Copper Chromite Black)를 공침공정을 이용하여 무독성의 Fe 화합물로 대체한 환경친화적인 블랙(흑색)안료를 개발하였다. 안료제조를 위하여 인체에 무해한 화합물($MnCO_3$, Fe(OH)$_3$, CuO)을 원료로 사용하였으며, 가스소성, Ring-Mill에 의한 습식분쇄 그리고 건조과정을 통하여 흑색안료를 제조하였다. 안료의 평가는 제품의 품질을 결정하는 색상과 착색력을 최우선으로 선정하여 색차계로 고찰하였다. 연구결과, 공침공정으로 제조한 원료를 $950^{\circ}C$에서 12시간 동안 가스소성을 한 후 건조와 분쇄공정(습식)을 거쳐 흑색안료를 제조하였을 때, 최적의 색 선명도, 착색력 및 입도($1{\mu}m$ 이하)를 가진 것으로 나타났다.

Gigacycle Fatigue Endurance Strength of High Density Mo and Cr-Mo Prealloyed Sintered Steel

  • For attaining optimum fatigue resistance of PM steels, high density levels are necessary. In this work, sintered steels Fe-1.5%Mo-0.6%C and Fe-1.5%Cr-0.2%Mo-0.6%C were produced with density levels of 7.1 to $7.6\;g.cm^{-3}$. Ultrasonic fatigue testing with 20 kHz was performed in push-pull mode up to 10E9 cycles. It was shown that the fatigue endurance strength is strongly improved by higher density levels, but also higher sintering temperatures are beneficial. The Cr-Mo steels proved to be superior to the plain Mo alloyed, due to a more favourable as-sintered matrix microstructure.

Stainless Steel Surface Oxidized in Strong Oxidizing Solution

  • Stainless steel 304 2B and BA are oxidized in 2.5 M $CrO_3/$ 5.0 M $H_2SO_4$ solution, and elemental composition and oxidized state of the surface region is analyzed as a function of the surface depth using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. It is found that Fe and Cr are preferentially oxidized and diffuse outward following the oxidation. Element Ni, the third major component of the steel is not oxidized and remains deep under the surface. It is also found that the oxidized Fe dissolves considerably into the solution thereby enriching the gas-oxide interface with Cr.

  • The microstructure, the corrosion behavior and the oxide properties were examined for Zr-1.5Nb-0.4Sn-0.2Fe-0.1Cr (HANA-4) alloys which were subjected to two different final annealing temperatures: $470^{\circ}C$ and $570^{\circ}C$. HANA-4 was shown to have $\ss$-enriched phase with a bcc crystal structure and Zr(Nb,Fe,Cr)$_2$ with a hcp crystal structure with $\ss$-enriched phase being more frequently observed compared with Zr(Nb,Fe,Cr)$_2$. The corrosion rate of HANA-4 was increased with an increase of the final annealing temperature in the PWR-simulating loop, $360^{\circ}C$ pure water and $400^{\circ}C$ steam conditions, which was correlated well with a reduction in the size of the columnar grains in the oxide/metal interface region. The oxide growth rate of HANA-4 was considerably affected by the alloy microstructure determined by the final annealing temperature.

  • The connecting rod is one of the most important parts in automotive engines, transforming the reciprocal motion of a piston generated by internal combustion into the rotational motion of a crankshaft. Recent advances in high performance automobile engines demand corresponding technological breakthroughs in the materials for engine parts. In the present research, the powder metallurgy (P/M) process was used to replace conventional quenching and/or tempering processes for mass production and ultimately for more cost-efficient manufacturing of high strength connecting rods. The development of P/M alloy powder was undertaken not only to achieve the improvement in mechanical properties, but also to enhance the machinability of the P/M processed connecting rods. Specifically $MoS_2$ powders were added as lubricants to non-normalizing Fe-Cr-Mn-V-C alloy powder to improve the post-sintering machinability. The effects of $MoS_2$ addition on the microstructure, mechanical properties, and machining characteristics were investigated.

Effects of carbon concentration and temperature on the sliding wear resistance in austenitic Fe-10Cr-10Ni-xC alloys

  • 오스테나이트계 Fe-10Cr-10Ni-xC(x=0.2, 0.5, 0.6and 0.7wt.%)합금에서 변형유기마르텐사이트상변태가 Sliding 마모저항성에 미치는영향을 탄소 및 온도에 따라 조사하였다. 변형유기마르텐사이트상변태가 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 석출물적고 grain의 크기가 비슷한 합금내에서 조사하였다. 변형유기마르텐사이트상변태가 일어나는데 필요한 에너지를 변형률-응력 곡선을 통해 구할 수 있으며, 이를 임계변형에너지라 규명했다. 그 결과, 상온에서 Carbon 함량에 따라 변형유기마르텐사이트상변태가 일어나는데 필요한 임계변형에너지는 증가하였으며, Sliding 마모저항성은 저하되었다. 이는 carbon이 오스테나이트 안정화원소(austenite stabilityelement)이므로 carbon 함량이 증가할수록 변형유기마르텐사이트상변태가 유발하기위해서는 많은 에너지가 필요하기 때문에 low C에 비해 high C의 마모저항성이 저하된 것으로 사료된다. 또한 변형유기마르텐사이트상변태가 고온 Sliding 마모저항성에 미치는 영향을 살펴보기 위해 Fe-Cr-Ni-xC(x=0.2, 0.5, 0.6 and 0.7wt.%)합금을 온도별(25, 100, $300^{\circ}C$)로 조사하였다.
