  • In this paper load redistribution algorithm to allow fault-tolerance by redistributing the workload of n failure nodes to the remaining good nodes in distributed systems are investigated. To evaluate the efficiency of the algorithms a simulation model of algorithms is developed using SLAM II simulation language. The job arrival rate service rate failure and repair rate of nodes and communication delay time due to load migraion are used as parameters. The result of the simulation shows that the job arrival rate failure and repair rate of nodes do not affected on the relative efficiency of algorithms. If the communication delay time is greater than average job processing time algorithm B is better. Otherwise algorithm C is superior to the others.

  • This paper proposes an optical wireless transfer agent method which realizes the continuous and swift data transfer of optical wireless terminals in optical wireless networks. The unguided wireless channel generally shows frequent link disconnections and propagation delays due to weak wireless links. Specially speaking, optical wireless channels have more vulnerable links and roaming propagation delays relative to the weakness of the previous RF channels due to their low signal connectivity and small geographic coverage. Conventional optical wireless network protocols did not consider any fault models about physical link faults. Consequently, they have shown data transfer inefficiency for both data link control and physical wireless link control. To overcome these optical wireless environmental problems, this paper suggests a new wireless access point (or base station) agent system, which provides wireless or mobile clients with previous link layer protocols compensated.

  • We propose the model of Software Rejuvenation methodology, which is applicable for survivability. Software rejuvenation is a proactive fault management technique and being used in fault tolerant systems as a cost effective technique for dealing with software faults. Survivability focuses on delivery of essential services and preservation of essential assets, even systems are penetrated and compromised. Thus, our objective is to detect the intrusions in a real time and survive in face of such attacks. As we deterrent against an attack in a system level, the Intrusion tolerance could be maximized at the target environment. We address the optimal time to execute ad hoc software rejuvenation and we compute it by using the semi Markov process. This is one way that could be really frustrated and deterred the attacks, as the attacker can't make their progress. This Software Rejuvenation method can be very effective under the assumption of unknown attacks. In this paper, we compute the optimum time to perform an ad hoc Software Rejuvenation through intrusions.

Defect permission control system minimizes production damage because enables repair and checking without discontinuance and improve believability about whole system. Propose duplexing of system to embody this fault tolerant system. Therefore, composed control system that can permit defect or breakdown duplexings of various module proposing this system, and confirms to simulation and actuality kiln of defect permission control system through an application experiment, and compares for mean time between defect by estimate and defect special quality and system configuration of failure(failure) to improve believability of PLC control system together. In proposed system expression method and system mode and relation with operation mode, error discovery mode and switching tube of duplexing mode, and PLC's central processing unit of node study algorithm about master-standby conversion driving and continuous operation of 2 channels method that have 2 that is not one and deduced continuous operation method and result about defect permission in this algorithm and applies this result to actuality kiln control system and confirms continuous operation about PLC defect permission.

  • In this paper, we propose a mechanism for both scheduling the hybrid-task set which consists of periodic and aperiodic tasks and recovering tasks with transient faults on the level of the operating system. Existing embedded operating systems would not provide the scheduling of both periodic and aperiodic tasks. Also because of not supporting the recovery of task failures, they can not prevent system failure from transient task faults. Proposed method, on the level of operating system, is able to not only meet the deadlines of all periodic tasks but also complete the execution of aperiodic tasks. In addition, it is able to prevent the system failure from transient task faults by recovering the task faults.

  • This paper addresses the application of motor current spectral analysis for the detection of rolling-element bearing damage in induction machines. We set the experimental test bed. They is composed of the normal condition bearing system, the abnormal rolling-element bearing system of 2 type induction motors with shaft deflection system by external force and a hole drilled through the outer race of the shaft end bearing of the four pole test motor. We have developed the embedded distributed fault tolerant and fault diagnosis system for industrial motor. These mechanisms are based on two 32-bit DSPs and each TMS320F2407 DSP module is checking stator current The effects on the stator current spectrum are described and related frequencies are also determined. This is an important result in the formulation of a fault detection scheme that monitors the stator currents. We utilized the FFT(Fast Fourier Transform), Wavelet analysis and averaging signal pattern by inner product tool to analyze stator current components. Especially, the analyzed results by inner product clearly illustrate that the stator signature analysis can be used to identify the presence of a bearing fault.

  • The formal specification methods with probability have been demanded in the area of fault real-time systems, in order to specify the uncertainty that the systems can encounter during their execution due to various environmental factors. This paper presents a new formal method with probability. namely Probabilistic Abstract Timed Machine (PATM), in order to analyze and predict system's behavior in dynamical environmental changes, This method classifies the factors into two classes: the variable and the constant. The analysis of system's behavior is performed on the probabilistic reachability graph generated from the ATM specification for the system. The analysis can predict any possibility that the behavior may not satisfy some safety requirements of the system, indicate which variable factors cause such satisfaction, and further recover from this unsatisfying fault state by fixing the variable factors. Consequently the reliability to the fault real-time systems can be improved.

  • There are many methods to enhance the fault tolerance of the CORBA based real time systems by viewpoints. Among them, this paper provides a method to enable seamless services where the systems based on the CORBA have object's faults originated processing real time information. Namely, this paper observes a method to deal efficiently with object's faults happening in 3 tier architecture environments. It is possible to replicate objects as a way to enhance the fault tolerance considering object's faults. Along with it, this paper shows a method to enhance the fault tolerance ultimately and then keep the service continuity by prividing a way to allow to continue to run the systems until the FT-CORBA based one's faults are recovered.

  • Ubiquitous service environment is poor in reliability of connection and has a high probability that the intrusion and the system failure may occur. Therefore, in the environment, the capability of a system to collectively accomplish its mission in spite of active intrusions and various failure scenarios, that is, the survivability of services are needed. In this paper, we analyze the Jgroup/ARM framework that was developed in order to help the development of fault- tolerant Jini services. More importantly, we propose an intrusion-tolerant Jini service architecture to satisfy the security availability and quality of services on the basis of the analysis. The proposed architecture is able to protect a Jini system not only from faults such as network partitioning or server crash, but also from attacks exploiting flaws. It is designed to provides performance enough to show a low response latency so as to support seamless service usage. Through the experiment on a test-bed, we have confirmed that the architecture is able to provide high security and availability at the level that degraded services quality is ignorable.
