산불에 의한 가공 송전선로의 기계적 열화 특성 (Mechanical Deterioration of Overhead Transmission Lines by Forest Fires)

  • 송전선로의 ACSR(Aluminum Strandard Conductors Steel Reinforced)의 잔존수명에 대한 관심이 전력공급의 신뢰성과 안정성올 유지하기 위하여 점차 중요하게 되있다. 대기 중에 장기간 노출된 ACSR의 잔존수명은 대기부식, 전해부식, 간극부식과 피로부식과 같은 환경요인들에 의하여 발생된 열화에 의존된다. 산 등성이에 가설된 가공 송전선에 유효수명의 감소 중 하나는 종종 산불에 의한 것이다. 이 논문에서는 화염에 노출된 ACSR의 인장하중과 연신율에 대한 몇 가지 시험과 해석 결과를 통하여 화염에 의한 ACSR의 기체적 열화특성 고찰한다 시힘 시료는 ACSR 480[ml] 도체들로, 일정한 시간간격으로 인공적으 로 가열된 것들이다. 가열된 ACSR 도체를에 대한 인장하중과 연산율과 같은 기계적 특성이 시험되고 가열시간에 의한 기계적 특성의 추정함수들미 결정되었다. 그 결과, ACSR의 인장하증과 연신율 모두가 가열시간이 증가함에 따라 감소되는 것 확인할 수 있었다. 따라서, ACSR은 산블에 의하여 기계적인 멸화가 진전될 것이 분명하다.

  • Ti합금은 고온환경에서 고강도가 요구되는 항공기의 엔진 부품등의 소재로 적용되고 있다. Ti합금은 이와 같이 기계적 성능이 우수함에도 불구하고 ${\alpha}$상과 ${\beta}$상의 조성에 의한 두 상의 미세 구조에 의한 초음파 산란으로 초음파를 이용한 비파괴 평가에서 피로균열 검출이 어려운 단점이 있다. 합금내의 결정립에서 산란되는 초음파 신호에 의하여 결함이 존재하지 않는 경우에도 산란 신호가 검출되는 결정립 산간 잡음 신호가 존재하며, 이들 결정립 산란 잡음 신호는 합금내부에 존재하는 기공 및 불순불 등의 결함 검출을 어렵게 하늘 요인이다. 본 연구에서는 Ti합금의 효율적일 초음파를 이용한 비파괴 평가의 적응을 위하여 Ti합금 시험편에 대하여 초음파 전파속도 측정 및 미세 드릴 가공에 의한 인공 결함의 검출능 평가 등을 수행하였다.

탄소섬유강화플라스틱(CFRP)의 적층 배향각에 따른 드릴링 가공 특성 고찰 (Investigation Into the Drilling Characteristics of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP) with Variation of the Stacking Sequence Angle)

  • Due to recent industrial growth and development, there has been a high demand for light and highly durable materials. Therefore, a variety of new materials has been developed. These new materials include carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP or CRP), which is a wear-, fatigue-, heat-, and corrosion-resistant material. Because of its advantageous properties, CFRP is widely used in diverse fields including sporting goods, electronic parts, and medical supplies, as well as aerospace, automobile, and ship materials. However, this new material has several problems, such as delamination around the inlet and outlet holes at drilling, fiber separation, and tearing on the drilled surface. Moreover, drill chips having a fine particulate shape are harmful to the work environment and engineers' health. In fact, they deeply penetrate into machine tools, causing the reduction of lifespan and performance degradation. In this study, CFRP woven and unidirectional prepregs were formed at $45^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$, respectively, in terms of orientation angle. Using a high-speed steel drill and a TiAIN-coated drill, the two materials were tested in three categories: cutting force with respect to RPM and feed speed; shape changes around the input and outlet holes; and the shape of drill chips.

Gelatinized and Fermented Powders of Lepidium meyenii (Maca) Improve Physical Stamina and Epididymal Sperm Counts in Male Mice

  • Lepidium meyenii, known as Maca, is traditionally employed in the Andean region for its supposed properties to improve energy and fertility. In the present study, we investigated the effects of gelatinized and fermented Maca on improvement of physical stamina and epididymal sperm counts, and on blood biochemical parameters related to fatigue and tissue injury: creatine phosphokinase, aspartate transaminase, lactate dehydrogenase, blood urea nitrogen, glucose, total cholesterol and total proteins. Adult male mice was divided at random into two main groups (resting and excercise groups). The excercise group was separated into three subgroups (exercise only, exercise with gelatinized Maca and fermented Maca-treatment groups). Gelatinized or fermented Maca (800 mg/kg) were orally administered for 30 days. All animals in exercise groups were subjected to daily 30-min swimming for 28 days 30 min after Maca treatment. Daily exercise decreased the body weight gain, and fermented Maca further attenuated the body weight increase. Gelatinized and fermented Maca significantly increased the maximum swimming time on 14 and 28 days of treatment (p<0.05), respectively, suggestive of a long-term stamina-enhancing effect of fermented Maca. Both Maca fully or significantly recovered blood parameters of energy as well as muscular and hepatocytic injuries changed by repeated exercise and maximum swimming performance (p<0.01). Moreover, gelatinized and fermented Maca increased epididymal sperm counts 22.0% and 32.0%, respectively. In conclusion, the results indicate potential benefits of Maca for improving both physical stamina by minimizing muscular and hepatic damage and preserving energy during swimming exercise and male reproductive function by increasing epididymal sperm counts.

잔류응력과 계면접합강도를 고려한 금속복합재료의 열탄소성 변형 해석 (Thermal Elasto-Plastic Deformation Analysis of Metal Matrix Composites Considering Residual Stress and Interface Bonding Strength)

  • As the interface bonding phenomenon between the matrix and the reinforcements has a large effect on the mechanical properties of MMCs, a sugestion of the strength analysis technique considering the residual stress and the interface bonding phenomenon is very important for the design of pans and the estimation of fatigue behavior. In this paper the three dimensional finite element anaysis is performed during the elasto-plastic deformation of the particulate reinforced metal matrix composites. It was analyzed with the volume fractions in view of microscale. Bonding strength. interface separation and matrix void growth between the matrix and the reinforcements will be predicted on deformation under tensile loading. An interface seperation is estimated by the fracture criterion which is a critical value of generalized plastic work per unit volume. The shape of the reinforcement is assumed to be a perfect sphere. And the type of the reinforcement distribution is assumed as FCC array. The thermal residual stress in MMCs is induced by the heat treatment. It is included at the simulation as an initial residual stress. The element birth and death method of the ANSYS program is used for the estimation of the interface bonding strength, void generation and propagation. It is assumed that the fracture in the matrix region begin to occur under the external loading when the plastic work per unit volume is equal to the critical value. The fracture strain will be defined. The experimental data of the extruded $SiC_p$>/606l Al composites are compared with the theoretical results.

Multi-Scale Heterogeneous Fracture Modeling of Asphalt Mixture Using Microfabric Distinct Element Approach

  • Many experimental and numerical approaches have been developed to evaluate paving materials and to predict pavement response and distress. Micromechanical simulation modeling is a technology that can reduce the number of physical tests required in material formulation and design and that can provide more details, e.g., the internal stress and strain state, and energy evolution and dissipation in simulated specimens with realistic microstructural features. A clustered distinct element modeling (DEM) approach was implemented In the two-dimensional particle flow software package (PFC-2D) to study the complex behavior observed in asphalt mixture fracturing. The relationship between continuous and discontinuous material properties was defined based on the potential energy approach. The theoretical relationship was validated with the uniform axial compression and cantilever beam model using two-dimensional plane strain and plane stress models. A bilinear cohesive displacement-softening model was implemented as an intrinsic interface and applied for both homogeneous and heterogeneous fracture modeling in order to simulate behavior in the fracture process zone and to simulate crack propagation. A disk-shaped compact tension test (DC(T)) with heterogeneous microstructure was simulated and compared with the experimental fracture test results to study Mode I fracture. The realistic arbitrary crack propagation including crack deflection, microcracking, crack face sliding, crack branching, and crack tip blunting could be represented in the fracture models. This micromechanical modeling approach represents the early developmental stages towards a 'virtual asphalt laboratory,' where simulations of laboratory tests and eventually field response and distress predictions can be made to enhance our understanding of pavement distress mechanisms, such its thermal fracture, reflective cracking, and fatigue crack growth.

  • Recently, the production of shipbuilding and offshore plant industries, with a trend toward large structures, has led to an increased use of high strength ultra-thick plates. The use of ultra-thick plates increases the welding tasks, and the welding process generates distortion and residual stress in the weldment because of the rapid heating and cooling. Welding distortion and residual stress in the welded structure resulte in many troubles such as deformation and life deterioration. In particular, the welding residual stress has an important effect on welding deformation, fatigue, buckling strength, brittleness, etc. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the residual stress at a multi-pass weldment using an experimental method for EH36 high-tension steel. In this experimental method, AIS3000 was used to measure the residual stress of a welded part, HAZ, and base metal; EPMA and XRD were used to study the material properties.

이층 포설 콘크리트 포장의 국내 적용을 위한 강섬유 보강 콘크리트 기초 물성평가 (Estimation of The Basic Properties of Two-Lift Concrete Pavement to Apply Korea Condition)

  • 본 연구에서는 콘크리트 포장의 균열, 스폴링 등의 파손문제를 해결하기 위해 국내 시공사례가 없는 이층 포설 공법의 도입 및 기술 경제적 타당성을 검토하고자 하였다. 본 포장공법중 하나인 강섬유 보강 콘크리트(SFRC, Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete)의 포장 배합 적용성이 검토되었다. 강섬유 함량과 포장 높이가 산정되었으며, 강섬유 보강 콘크리트의 물성 평가를 위해 압축강도, 휨강도, 휨인성 지수, 인장강도, 피로강도를 측정하였다. 슬럼프와 공기량은 대부분이 시방 기준을 만족하였으며, 28일 강도도 교통개방을 할 수준 정도로 발현되었다. 휨강도 실험 결과, 강섬유 보강 콘크리트가 무보강 콘크리트에 비해 휨인성은 증가하였지만 휨강도는 증가하지 않았다. 에너지 흡수능력, 피로 저항성 및 동결 융해저항성은 강섬유 보강 콘크리트가 무보강 콘크리트에 비해 향상되었다. 향후, 시험시공을 통해 강섬유 보강 콘크리트의 현장 적용성 및 공용성을 평가할 것이다.

강도를 고려한 섬유-금속 적층 복합재료의 최적설계 (Stacking Sequence Design of Fiber-Metal Laminate Composites for Maximum Strength)

  • 섬유-금속 적층 복합재료(FMLC)는 섬유와 금속 박판으로 구성된 새로운 형태의 구조재로 가볍고 우수한 피로 특성을 가지며 금속과 같이 가소성과 충격저항성이 우수하고, 가공성이 뛰어나다. 본 연구에서는 여러 하중 조건하에 있는 섬유-금속 적층 복합재료를 유전자 알고리듬을 이용하여 최적 설계하였다. 전단변형이론에 근거한 유한요소법을 사용하여 적층판을 해석하였으며, 설계변수로 금속판의 강도와 섬유 층의 수에 따른 적층각도를 두었다. 섬유층과 금속판의 적합도 함수로는 각각 Tasi-Hill failure criterion과 Miser yield criterion을 사용하였다. 유전자 알고리듬의 연산자로는 토너먼트 선택과 균일 교배를 사용하였다. 효율적인 진화를 위해 엘리티스트 모델을 사용하며, 높은 정확도를 가진 해를 얻기 위해 크리프 무작위 탐색(creeping random search) 방법을 통해 더 우수한 자손을 얻었다. 여러 가지 하중 조건에 대하여 최적설계 결과를 나타내었으며, 파괴 지수 측면에서 탄소섬유강화복합재료(CFRP)와 비교하였다. 해석 결과 섬유-금속 적층 복합재료는 탄소섬유강화복합재료에 비하여 집중하중이나 분포하중 형태에 대하여 우수한 특성을 보였으며, 파괴 지수의 편차가 적어 예기치 않은 하중에 잘 견딜 것으로 사료된다.

이종재료 마찰용접에 의한 초내열합금 대형 배기밸브 스핀들 개발 (Development of Large Superalloy Exhaust Valve Spindle by Dissimilar Inertia Welding Process)

  • Inertia welding is a solid-state welding process in which butt welds in materials are made in bar and in ring form at the joint race, and energy required lot welding is obtained from a rotating flywheel. The stored energy is converted to frictional heat at the interface under axial load. The quality of the welded joint depends on many parameters, including axial force, initial revolution speed and energy amount of upset. working time, and residual stresses in the joint. Inertia welding was conducted to make the large exhaust valve spindle for low speed marine diesel engine. superalloy Nimonic 80A for valve head of 540mm and high alloy SNCrW for valve stem of 115mm. Due to different material characteristics such as, thermal conductivity and flow stress. on the two sides of the weld interface, modeling is crucial in determining the optimal weld geometry and Parameters. FE simulation was performed by the commercial code DEFORM-2D. A good agreement between the Predicted and actual welded shape is observed. It is expected that modeling will significantly reduce the number of experimental trials needed to determine the weld parameters. especially for welds for which are very expensive materials or large shaft. Many kinds of tests, including macro and microstructure observation, chemical composition tensile , hardness and fatigue test , are conducted to evaluate the qualify of welded joints. Based on the results of the tests it can be concluded that the inertia welding joints of the superalloy exhaust valve spindle are better properties than the material specification of SNCrW.
