  • Purpose Today, world-wide societies share their daily life and many communities exchange their information through the explosive developed SNS and the social media systems. However, many SNS fatigue related factors forced the discontinuance of SNS. This paper is aim to examine effect of SNS feature and negative emotion to figure out the reason of SNS discontinuance. This is verifying the effect of maintenance of SNS, security concern and psychological concern on SNS fatigue and the effect of upward/lateral comparison on negative emotion. Moreover, the effect of SNS fatigue and negative concern on the SNS discontinuance intention was examined. Design/methodology/approach This research used to the survey method to test its hypotheses and the survey population is Facebook SNS users. A software tool called AMOS 18 is used to analyze the structural equation model. Findings The results showed that maintenance of SNS, security concern and psychological concern had a positive effect on SNS fatigue respectively and upward/lateral comparison did on negative emotion. In addition, SNS fatigue and negative emotion had significant effect on discontinuance intention.

  • Spot welding has been used in the sheet metal joining processes because of its high productivity and convenience. In this study, predicting methods of fatigue life of spot welded joint have been studied fatigue life of conch-peel spot welded joint was influenced by tail effect. Fatigue life was estimated by stress index parameter considering multiaxial stresses and tail effect. Fatigue tests were conducted with the coach-peel specimens using SPCC.

  • Corrosion fatigue fracture of dual phase steel(SS41) and raw material steel(SS41) were investigated in 3.5% NaCl aqueous solution at PH 4,6,9 and 11. The fatigue limit of dual phase steel is increased approximately 1.8 times larger than that of raw material in air. The corrosion fatigue life of dual phase steel is about 5-10 times larger than that of raw material in 3.5% NaCl aqueous solution. The reduction of fatigue life is larger for the acidsalt solution than for the alkali salt solution. The reduction of stress level on the reduction ratio of corrosion fatigue life is large as pH 6-11. The reduction ratio of corrosion fatigue life of dual phase steel and raw material is nearly coincided at pH 2. While at pH4-2 the reduction ratio of corrosion fatigue life only depends on the corrosion effect. It has been found that the corrosion resistance effect of dual phase steel is smaller than that of raw material in corrosion fatigue crack propagation rate. As pH below 6 is changed, it can be clearly observed from raw material that the brittle intergranular fracture is characterized, and from the above result, the influence of corrosion of dual phase steel is small.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of fatigue on the relationship between pain and sleep disturbance in patients with ankylosing spondylitis. Methods: The subjects of this study were 109 patients with ankylosing spondylitis who visited the rheumatology department in a university hospital. Subjects completed structured questionnaires measuring pain, sleep disturbance, and fatigue. Data were analyzed using t-test, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and 3-step regression analysis. Results: Pain was positively correlated with fatigue (r=.60, p<.001) and sleep disturbance (r=.45, p<.001). Fatigue was positively correlated with sleep disturbance (r=.55, p<.001) and had a mediating effect on the relationship between pain and sleep disturbance. Conclusion: The findings confirm that pain in patients with ankylosing spondylitis affects fatigue and its accumulation has a mediating effect on increasing the level of sleep disturbance. In clinical practice, education on symptom management for patients with ankylosing spondylitis needs to be provided for encouraging proper exercise and rest. Patient education should also include strategies to reduce fatigue and promote sleep in daily lives in addition to pain management.

  • The main objective of this study is to consider the effect of fatigue crack behavior on the variable depth of micro hole defects in SM20C at the symmetric position. The fatigue crack propagation test is performed by rotary bending fatigue test machine. The relationship between crack length(2a), cycles(N) and crack growth rate(da/dN) are investigated in this study. The result from the rotary bending fatigue test under the applied stress at 250MPa turned out that the fatigue life illustrated almost constant when the depth of symmetric micro hole deflects is both part A and B at the hope depth(h) = 0.5mm.

  • Induction surface hardening is widely used to enhance local strength and hardness. However, most research is only to have a focus on fatigue life and fatigue behavior is not so much studied. So, in this study, Cr-Mo steel alloy(SCM440) was used to show the effect of residual stress and micro hole on the fatigue strength fur base metal and induction surface hardened specimen. In addition, the fatigue characteristic between surface hardened and fully hardened steel is somewhat different. It is caused by hardness distribution, residual stress and inclusions etc.. The modification of prediction equation of fatigue strength is proposed and predicted results show very good accuracy. A $textsc{k}$, which is calculated 1.46, is introduced to consider the effect of stationary crack with defect. A new method of modifying residual stress is proposed to examine the mean stress effect under fatigue loading.

  • Effect of mean stress on the fatigue life of natural rubber for engine mount was investigated. Fatigue damage parameter based on the maximum Green-Lagrange strain was employed to account for the effect of mean stress. A procedure to predict the fatigue life of rubber components based on the maximum Green-Lagrange strain method was proposed. Nonlinear finite element analysis and fatigue test of jang-gu shape specimen were conducted to predict the fatigue life of engine mount. Predicted fatigue lives have a good agreement with tested lives within a factor of 3.

  • Effect of post treatment on the fatigue strength of a box weldment was investigated in order to improve fatigue life of the weldment. The post treatment applied were the smooth grinding of weld bead, weld toe grinding and hammer peening at the weld toe. The fatigue strength of the weldment after post treatment clearly increased, compared with that of the weldment in as-welded condition. After smooth grinding of weld bead, fatigue crack initiated at the root of the weldment, while fatigue crack initiated at the weld toe for the other methods.

  • A computer software was developed for predictions of fatigue crack initiation life of notched members under variable loadings. The software was constructed based on a new fatigue life prediction method utilizing modified .epsilon.-N curves, which can account for the stress interaction effect. The effect of mean plastic strain on low-cycle fatigue life was also incorporated in the software. The software can be utilized for the first step approximation when fundamental data of material fatigue properties are not available.

  • This paper presents the fatigue behavior of composite materials with impact-induced damage. The impact damage parameter is proposed to evaluate the effect of impact damage on fatigue life. Subsequently, a new model is developed to predict the fatigue life of impacted composite materials. Also, a stochastic model is proposed to describe the variation of fatigue life due to the material nonhomogeneity. For these models, the fatigue tests were performed on the unimpacted and impacted composite materials, The effect of impact damage on fatigue life can be characterized by the impact damage parameter. Additionally, the results by the present fatigue life prediction model agree will with experimental results regardless of applied impact energy. Also, the variation of fatigue life can be described by the present stochastic model and is reduced with applied impact energy.
