LC/ESI/MS 와 기능성 화장품 관련 분석에의 응용

  • LC/MS는 HPLC의 분리능과 질량분석기의 화합물의 확인 능력을 결합시킨 기기이다. 여기서 사용되는 이온화 방법은 GCJMS에서 사용되어지는 전자이온화법(electron ionization, EI)이나, 화학이온화법(chemical ionization, CI)은 부적당하기 때문에 최근 개발되어진 연성 이온화법의 대표적인 고속원자폭격식(Fast atom bombardment, FAB)이나 전기분무이온화식 (electrospray ionization, ESI) 등이 사용되고 있다. 이중 전기분무이온화법은 고속원자폭격법에서 사용되는 매트릭스를 사용하지 않기 때문에 매트릭스 이온의 부재로 인한 낮은 바탕 신호, 오래 지속되면서 안정된 초기 이온 전류, 샘플링의 용이성, HPLC와의 더 좋은 호환성 등의 장점을 제공한다. 이러한 전기분무이온화 방법은 극성이 매우 크거나 휘발성이 낮은 물질로 보통의 EI나 CI 이온화 방법으로 분석이 어려운 물질들을 분석할 수 있다. 또한 열에 불안정하거나 분자의 분자량이 다른 단백질 등의 분석도 가능하다. 이러한 LC/ESI/MS 방법을 이용하여 열에 불안정하고 극성이면서 분자량이 커서 GC/MS 펄의 분석이 어려운 기능성 화장품 원료로 주목받고 있고 생체에 존재하는 지질 성분으로 알려진 레시틴과 세라마이드의 분석이 가능함을 소개하고 분리와 동시에 그 분자량과 구조에 대한 정보를 빠르게 얻을 수 있음을 소개하였다.

A Fast Digital Elevation Model Extraction Algorithm Using Gradient Correlation (Gradient Correlation을 이용한 고속 수치지형표고 모델 추출 방법)

  • The purpose of this paper is to extract fast DEM (Digital Elevation Model) using satellite images. DEM extraction consists of three parts. First part is the modeling of satellite position and attitude, second part is the matching of two images to find corresponding points of them and third part is to calculate the elevation of each point by using the results of the first and second part. The position and attitude modeling of satellite is processed by using GCPs. A area based matching method is used to find corresponding points between the stereo satellite images. The elevation of each point is calculated using the exterior orientation parameters obtained from modeling and conjugate points from matching. In the DEM generation system, matching procedure holds most of a processing time, therefore to reduce the time for matching, a new fast matching algorithm using gradient correlation and fast similarity measure calculation method is proposed. In this paper, the SPOT satellite images, level 1A 6000$\times$6000 panchromatic images are used to extract DEM. The experiment result shows the possibility of fast DEM extraction with the satellite images.

Energy Recovery via Pyrolysis of Waste Tire Rubber : Desulfurization Effect of Pyrolysis Oil by Adding Waste Polypropylene (폐타이어의 열분해를 통한 에너지화 : 폐폴리프로필렌 첨가 시 열분해 오일의 탈황 효과)

  • In this study, waste tire rubbers were pyrolyzed in a lab-scale pyrolysis plant equipped with a fluidized bed reactor in a temperature ranges of $450-650^{\circ}C$. The main object of this work is to investigate the properties of pyrolysis oil with reaction temperatures and the behavior of sulfur in the products when waste polypropylene was added for co-pyrolysis. The maximum yield of oil was about 52wt.% at the reaction temperature of $456^{\circ}C$. From GC-MS analysis, the pyrolysis oils consisted mainly of limonene, toluene, xylene, styrene, trimethylbenzene, methylnaphthalenes and some heteroatom(sulfur and nitrogen)-containing compounds. The addition of waste polypropylene resulted in decrease in sulfur contents of the pyrolysis oils.

A Design of All-Digital QPSK Demodulator for High-Speed Wireless Transmission Systems (고속 무선 전송시스템을 위한 All-Digital QPSK 복조기의 설계)

  • High-speed QPSK demodulator has been in important design objective of any wireless communication systems, especially those offering broadband multimedia service. This paper describes all-digital QPSK demodulator for high-speed wireless communications, and its hardware structures are discussed. All-digital QPSK demodulator is mainly composed of symbol time circuit and carrier recovery circuit to estimate timing and phase-offsets. There are various schemes. Among them, we use Gardner algorithm and Decision-Directed carrier recovery algorithm which is most efficient scheme to warrant the fast acquisition and tacking to fabricate FPGA chip. The testing results of the implemented onto CPLD-EPF10K100GC 503-4 chip show demodulation speed is reached up to 2.6[Mbps]. If it is implemented a CPLD chip with speed grade 1, the demodulation speed can be faster by about 5 times. Actually in case of designing by ASIC, its speed my be faster than CPLD by 5 times. Therefore, it is possible to fabricate the all-digital QPSK demodulator chipset with speed of 50[Mbps].

  • BACKGROUND: For the safety of imported agricultural products, the study was conducted to develop the analytical method of unregistered pesticides in domestic. The analytical method of 6 pesticides, chlorthal-dimethyl, clomeprop, diflufenican, hexachlorobenzene, picolinafen, and propyzamide, for a fast multi-residue analysis were established for two different type crops, orange and brown rice by GC-ECD and confirmed by mass spectrometry. METHODS AND RESULTS: The analytical method was evaluated to limit of quantification, linearity and recoveries. The crop samples were extracted with acetonitrile and performed cleanup by liquid-liquid partition and Florisil SPE to remove co-extracted matrix. The extracted samples were analyzed by GC-ECD with good sensitivity and selectivity of the method. The limits of quantification (LOQ) range of the method with S/N ratio of 10 was 0.02~0.05 mg/kg for orange and brown rice. The linearity for targeted pesticides were $R^2$ >0.999 at the levels ranged from 0.05 to 10.0 mg/kg. The average recoveries ranged from 74.4% to 110.3% with the percentage of coefficient variation in the range 0.2~8.8% at two different spiking levels (0.02 mg/kg and 0.2 mg/kg, 0.05 mg/kg and 0.5 mg/kg) in brown rice. And the average recoveries ranged from 77.8% to 118.4% with the percentage of coefficient variation in the range 0.2~6.6% at two different spiking levels (0.02 mg/kg and 0.2 mg/kg, 0.05 mg/kg and 0.5 mg/kg) in orange. Final determination was by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry/selected ion monitoring (GC/MS/SIM) to identify the targeted pesticides. CONCLUSION: As a result, this developed analytical method can be used as an official method for imported agricultural products.

Comparative Evaluation of the Analytical Methods used to Determine Pesticide Residues in Milk via Dispersive Solid Phase Extraction (Dispersive Solid Phase Extraction을 사용한 우유 내 잔류농약 다성분 동시 분석법 비교연구)

  • The aim of this study was to optimize a simple, fast, and economic analytical method for the simultaneous determination of various pesticides (aldrin, p,p'-DDT, o,p'-DDT, p,p'-DDE, ${\alpha}$-endosulfan, ${\beta}$-endosulfan, dieldrin, heptachlor, permethrin, chlordane, deltamethrin, diazinon, bifenthrin, methoprene, propargite, fenpropathrin, cypermethrin, fenvalerate, and fenpropathrin) in milk by using dispersive solid phase extraction (SPE). In this study, two different extraction methods (low temperature cleanup and liquid-liquid partitioning), which were followed by a cleanup process based on dispersive-SPE, were evaluated and compared for the 19 pesticides. The results for all the pesticides were determined by gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC/MS) with selected-ion monitoring mode, and the matrix effect of the method was evaluated. Comparison of these approaches yielded higher and more consistent recoveries of most pesticides at fortification levels of $1{\mu}g/mL$ using low-temperature fat precipitation, followed by cleanup process based on dispersive-SPE with PSA and C18 as sorbents, than other preparation process. The relative standard deviation was <20 % and the combination of this method were very effective for the cleanup.

Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Agricultural Waterways in Gyeonggi and Gangwon Provinces, Korea (경기 및 강원지역 농업용수 중 PAHs의 모니터링 연구)

  • Level and distribution of fourteen polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in the agricultural water samples collected in the waterways located in Gyeonggi and Gangwon, Korea were determined for monitoring and risk assessment. A simplified, fast but effective extraction and clean-up methods combined with gas chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (GC-MS/MS) was employed to measure the concentration of the target compounds. The extraction of the analytes of interest in water sample (10 mL) was performed with acetonitrile (10 mL) and the salt. To purify the target PAHs, the clean-up procedure was employed with 2 mL tubes of dispersive solid phase extraction. The optimized method was validated with recoveries, method detection limit (MDL), accuracy and precision. Good recoveries for each PAHs at 10 and $25{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$ were achieved (60 to 110%, with RSD <20%) with linearity (>0.99). MDL for all the analytes was achieved with $0.2{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$. GC-MS/MS results showed that concentration of phenanthrene in the water samples from Gyeonggi (20 sites) ranged from 0.82 to $2.56{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$ and from Gangwon (15 sites) ranged from 0.83 to $1.62{\mu}g\;L^{-1}$. Other PAHs were not found in the water samples but the continuous monitoring for these areas were required.

Monitoring of Methanol Levels in Commercial Detergents and Rinse Aids (시판 세척제 및 헹굼보조제 중 메탄올 함량 모니터링)

  • Methanol is a toxic alcohol used in various products such as antifreeze, detergent, disinfectant and industrial solvent. In the human body, methanol is oxidized to formaldehyde and formic acid, which can lead to metabolic acidosis, optic nerve impairment, and death. In this study, the methanol levels in detergents (n=191) and rinse aids (n=13) were analyzed by gas chromatography-headspace-mass spectrometry (GC-HS-MS). Limit of detection was 1.09 mg/kg, accuracy and precision were 91.1-97.9% and <10%, and it was suitable for quantitative analysis. This analysis method was simple and fast with a higher recovery rate than the conventional MFDS (Ministry of Food and Drug Safety) method of diluting the sample in water and putting it in a headspace vial.

Effect of Particle Size and Moisture Content of Woody Biomass on the Feature of Pyrolytic Products (급속열분해 공정에서 바이오매스의 입자크기와 수분 함량이 열분해 산물의 특성에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study the effects of particle size and water content on the yields and physical/chemical properties of pyrolytic products were investigated through fast-pyrolysis of yellow poplar. Water content was critical parameters influencing the properties of bio-oil. The yields of bio-oil were increased with decreasing water content. However, the yield of pyrolytic product was not clearly influenced by feedstock's particle size. The water content, pH and HHV (Higher Heating Value) of bio-oil were measured to 20~30%, 2.2~2.4 and 16.6~18.5MJ/kg, respectively. The water content of feedstock was clearly influenced to water content of bio-oil. In terms of bio-char, HHV of them were measured to 26.2~30.1 MJ/kg with high content of carbon over 80%.

A Near Real-Time Wind Tunnel System for Studying Evaporation of Chemical Agents(HD) (준실시간 소형 풍동 시스템을 이용한 화학작용제(HD) 증발특성 연구)

  • Upon chemical agent release, it is of importance to study the characteristic persistence and evaporation of chemical agents from surfaces for the prediction of dispersion hazard. We have recently developed a fast and near real-time wind tunnel system proving the controlled environment(air flow, temperature, and humidity), continuously collects agent vapor and analyzes it. A thermal sorber/desorber is unnecessary to collect the vapor in the system we have developed. Instead, a tandem thermal sorber collects the vapor, which is then directly transferred to a fast gas chromatography(GC) for analysis. As a proof of concept, the evaporation of sulfur mustard agent(HD) was studied from glass, sand and concrete. The results were in an excellent agreement with those obtained from the conventional wind tunnel system.
