Convergence of IT devices and fashion is enabling the industry to take fully different approaches in various areas including product planning, fabric selecting, distributing, and marketing. At the same time, it also transforms the definition of clothing itself. Convergence of IT technologies in the realm of fashion and textiles industries can create a powerful synergy through connection digital devices, such as mobile phone. In this context, this study attempts to suggest how IT technology can be efficiently harnessed through the usage of mobile devices in the planning stage of fashion materials, where the initial production plan of a clothing item is mapped out. This study ultimately aims to enhance the effectiveness of databases on fashion material information by using mobile devices to utilize NFC, an RFID technology having as much revolutionary power as Internet - which can be the convergence between IT and fashion across the software dimensions. To pursue this research, data on fashion material information regarding 200 woven fabric specimens were provided by textile companies. The information includes elements such as its composition, weight, width, yarn, density and sales report. These pieces of information were organized into a database. Drawing on this data, Android-based applications that allow smart phones to read off fabric information from NFC tags were developed for this study using two methods. The system works as follows: 1. NFC tag stickers are attached onto the hangers where 200 fabric samples are hanging. 2. The NFC tag stickers are tagged, or read off from a smart phone that support NFC functions. 3. Upon tagging, the Smart phone swiftly displays all information available on its screen - not only the aforementioned six elements, but also the image of the clothing item from the fabric in its finalized product form, and the video of the model wearing the item - for convenient view. The method harbors immense potential for the fashion industry in general, and will also be useful in those fields inside the industry that harness NFC technology.
This study investigated a conceptual framework of fashion consumers' purchase decision-making styles related to behavioral typology of personality. In response to critiques on fragmented and varied use of personality measurements, this study selectively tested and verified an alternative typological model of Enneagram value systems and self-construal levels that could explain the fashion consumers' typological propensities in purchase decision-making. One hundred-item measurement scale for the fashion consumers' purchase decision-making styles was developed based on the extensive literature. Three groups of fashion major students, a total of 107 participants, who respectively participated in 2-hour-long Enneagrams seminars from spring 2013 to fall 2014, were asked to re-sentence the question items to clearly reflect their Enneagram personality to make purchase decisions. Participants described their propensities in their own words about the most comfortable state during the 5-step processes of the purchase decision making process. The revised scale was distributed to 423 participants in January 2016, and the results verified the group differences in various styles in the process of purchase decision-making corresponding to the typological variables discussed in Enneagram. The correlation between Enneagram core values embodied by fashion consumers during the stages of purchase decision-making in extensive levels of self-construal were verified in the context of their fashion decision making. This study found the possibility of the typological approach toward Enneagram types of personality to be applicable to explain and predict peculiar facets of fashion consumers' purchase decision-making styles.

For this purpose, big data in clothing marketing, text mining, semantic network analysis techniques were applied. This study aims to verify the effectiveness and significance of fashion shows in an effort to give directions for their future utilization. The study was conducted in two major stages. First, data collection with the key word, "fashion shows," was conducted across websites, including Naver and Daum between 2015 and 2018. The data collection period was divided into the first- and second-half periods. Next, Textom 3.0 was utilized for data refinement, text mining, and word clouding. The Ucinet 6.0 and NetDraw, were used for semantic network analysis, degree centrality, CONCOR analysis and also visualization. The level of interest in "models" was found to be the highest among the perception factors related to fashion shows in both periods. In the first-half period, the consumer interests focused on detailed visual stimulants such as model and clothing while in the second-half period, perceptions changed as the value of designers and brands were increasingly recognized over time. The online fashion market in the 21st century has shown rapid growth. Against this backdrop, using consumer activity data to provide customized customer services has emerged as a viable business model that draws attention. Algorithm-based personalized recommendation services are a good example. But their application in fashion products has clear limitations. It is not easy to identify consumers' perceptions of the attributes of fashion, which are various, hard to define, and very sensitive to trends. So there is a need to compile data on consumers' underlying awareness and to carry out defined research to increase the utilization of such services in the fashion industry and further engage consumers. This research aims to classify the attributes and types of fashion products and to identify consumers' perceptions of a given situation where a recommendation service is offered. To find out consumers' perceptions of and satisfaction with recommendation services, an online and mobile survey was conducted on women in their 20s and 30s, a group that uses recommendation services frequently. A total of 455 responses were used for analysis. SPSS 28.0 was used, combined with Conjoint Analysis and multiple regression, to analyze data. The study results could provide insights into a better understanding of recommendation services and be used as basic data for companies to identify consumers' preferences and draw up a detailed strategy for market segmentation.
Fashion vertical platforms offer various content and events to consumers and have established a strong customer base. Especially, they cater to the sensibilities of young customers. This study analyzed the characteristics of a sensuous fashion vertical platform, which enhances expertise and provides customized services. In addition, this study aimed to find out whether consumer innovation modulates the relationship between fashion vertical platform, platform satisfaction, and continuous shopping intention. An online survey was conducted targeting consumers in their 20s and 30s who had experience using fashion vertical platforms, and 222 samples were analyzed. Factor analysis and structural equation model were analyzed using the SPSS 29.0 and Smart-PLS. Smart-PLS analysis results showed that exclusivity, convenience and informativeness did not directly affect continuous shopping intention but showed a complete mediating effect through platform satisfaction. Both the high and low innovative groups demonstrated significant effects of exclusivity on platform satisfaction, and platform satisfaction showed significant effects on continuous shopping intention. A high level of innovation among the consumers showed significant mediating effects on exclusivity, personalization, and continuous shopping intention, as reflected by information on platform satisfaction, and low level of innovation among the consumers showed significant effect on convenience. This study's findings highlight the importance of enhancing exclusivity, convenience, informativeness, and esthetics in fashion vertical platforms, and improving platform satisfaction. These findings will be used to develop marketing strategies that can lead to continuous shopping intentions and provide opportunities for the industry.
