  • Interesting education which utilizes cyber visual and audio multimedia effects, we regard it as a very effective education but those programs are not prepared yet. So, the purpose of this research is to provide a new direction for cyber fashion education with the use of avatars as the multimedia factor to increase student's interest and understanding. First, we investigated the present situation of fashion cyber education and the present avatar usage situation online, and also we searched literature and the internet to investigate the general theory of design. Second, we used Adobe photoshop 7.0 to make avatars, then, we used Macromedia Flash MX to design the avatar on our web site, and to make it look more realistic. According to the research results, cyber fashion education is usually used as marketing in certain areas, and for middle school, and high school students it is mainly used as text and lecture videos. When searching for fashion sites that use avatars, we found that most fashion shopping malls use them. Because avatars can give visual effects and also increase interest and fun, they can increase concentration and understanding and can be effective in fashion cyber education.

The e-learning contents are developed by using the three steps of analysis, design and development. In order to analyze the requirements of curricula, the status and content of fashion information related curricular provided by general universities and cyber universities are analyzed, and then on the basis of this analysis the education objectives and detailed contents of e-learning contents are determined. Design and development of e-learning contents consist of the types, education menus and education form. The types of e-learning contents are developed into an education form combined with tutorial and practice/activity types. The education menus are comprised of syllabic, the profiles of professors and students, announcements, questions and answers regarding respect subjects, materials, and notes. Meanwhile, the education form consists of the following sections: "Before the Learning", "Learning", "Review Questions", "Final Review", "References", and "Practice", "Before the Learning" consists of two parts of a theory lecture that is composed of video clips and Power-Point presentations, and practice that consists of an audio(or video) lecture and illustration or Photoshop software execution window.

In this study, 437 papers written regarding IT fashion from five major journals published between 2000 and 2011 were examined. The research areas were then organized by subject and keyword, and divided into 16 high-context categories. Two IT fashion maps were constructed, one from a fashion consumer's perspective, and the other based on the fashion industry's supply chain. This study identified important trends in IT fashion such as: 3D scanners, 3D digital renderings of the human form, 3D digital garments, smart garments, mass customization, production automation, online shopping, home shopping, online communities, e-commerce, digital media, virtual reality, e-tail, the digital generation, E-CRM, and education. Data from body scans was collected and applied to production, and research on smart textiles was also carried out. As for IT fashion's service areas, the majority of the research focused on online shopping or online communication. Additionally, research done on avatars and cyber space, and studies on social networking services are shown. The results of this study indicated that a new field of research has opened and that current research has been developing. Also, this study showed what is needed to expand and strengthen IT fashion.

  • This qualitative study investigated different interaction patterns in an online discussion. The data was collected from asynchronous discussion occurred in a graduate course. The data analysis methods include inductive analysis and mapping strategy. The results of the study suggest three layers of interaction: response sequences, interaction amongst participants, and concept map of messages. The visualization of response sequences enabled the researcher to discover complex and dynamic interaction patterns amongst participants. The many-to-many communication feature of online discussion does not always enable direct one-on-one interaction between two participants. Rather, one message contributed to multiple threads in the stream of conversation. In terms of interaction amongst participants, the interaction amongst participants, as indicated in the data, the messages also bind each participant and consequently a group(s) of participants together. It appears that the contribution of one message may not only enable a response to one participant, but also connect many participants to each other. The concept map of messages proposes that response sequences and interaction amongst participants can also be viewed between concepts within messages in the discussion. On the surface, the messages posted by individuals are linked by the system in a linear fashion as they are posted. However, the interaction extends to collaborative conversation amongst participants. Ultimately, a conceptual network of interrelated ideas including multiple perspectives is built in asynchronous discussion.
