  • With increasing global interest in environmentally friendly materials and the consequent rise in demand, there is a growing need for alternatives to synthetic fibers, which can cause skin diseases and other side effects. The fashion industry is emphasizing material sustainability owing to concerns about increasing carbon emissions. Moreover, consumers express a strong desire for ecofriendly and sustainable materials. Therefore, clothing brand companies are developing eco-friendly products to enhance their corporate image. Hemp fibers are recognized for their functionality and are utilized as crucial materials in the development of eco-friendly products by global fashion companies. In this study, we produced socks that effectively improve foot health using hemp stem bark extract fibers and demonstrated the positive efficacy of natural fibers through functional and wearability evaluations. Hemp stem bark extract fibers showed 99.9% antimicrobial effectiveness against bacteria responsible for sweat-induced bacterial proliferation and odor, when blended with lyocell fibers and woven into fabric to manufacture socks. Wearability evaluations of these terry cloth socks confirmed a reduction in foot odor and fatigue among the participants with a consumer satisfaction of 4.63/5. These findings confirm the effectiveness and positive impact of the natural antimicrobial properties of hemp fibers and terry cloth structure in improving foot health.

  • Corporate social responsibility is a consistently discussed theme in many industries. Most corporations engage in CSR activities and now inform consumers in detail on what they have been doing for society. It has become a critical tool of consumer communication; however, little is known regarding the role of information transparency in the context of the fashion industry. This study discusses information transparency of fashion corporations which means revealing information regarding cost and garment making processes. The research proved that the higher consumers perceive a fashion brand's CSR performance (CSP), the more they think the provided CSR information is substantial; consequently, there is a favorable evaluation of the brand. The result provides insight regarding the relationship between CSP perception, perceived information substantiality, and brand evaluation. There was a significant partial mediation effect of perceived information substantiality. Moreover, the moderated mediation effect of information transparency appeared significant on the impact of CSP perception for brand evaluation via CSR information substantiality. The process model 7 was used as an analytical tool. The results of this study implies the importance of information transparency in the fashion industry context in the digital era.

This shows that hospital gowns have not been considered as an apparel for a specific purpose with a design that considers the psychological composure of patients. This study, along with a meticulous analysis of the pattern design of domestic hospital gown suggests a design philosophy that can be of emotional help to patients. The analysis of hospital gowns in terms of motif is that the corporate identity of the hospital in question, along with the lettering symbolizing the hospital is conspicuous. The motif shown in the pattern also has a brightness contrast and two-way pattern. This study suggests hospital gown patterns as follows. First, on the basis of color dynamics, utilize repetition arrangement, camaieu arrangement and faux camaieu arrangement. Second, make use of warm colors in order to enhance trust between patients and medical staff. Last, use green color as a dominant color for the hospital to be felt of as a convenient space. • Most corporations engage in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities. Consumers are aware of CSR activities in different domains and use the perception and evaluation in purchase decision making. This study reveals how the relationship between consumer perception about a fashion corporation's CSR activities and product evaluation (such as perceived expertise and attractiveness) affects behavioral intention. This study discussed implications for store designs depending on whether it is actively engaging in CSR communication. Two virtual fashion store images of modern or eco design were used as stimuli. The study was conducted from July to August, 2018 based on women in their 20s and 30s. We collected 154 eco designs and 157 modern design responses. The findings of the study show that consumer perceptions of CSR activities affected perceived expertise and attractiveness. Further, perceived expertise and attracti-veness led to purchase intention and time spent in the store. The store design variation had no differences in mean values of consumer perception; however, evaluation and purchase intention indicated that a varied store design emphasized different corporation capabilities.
