This study investigated how the travel motivation of Korean overseas tourists influenced shopping behavior. We first identified factors of the travel motivation and then categorized types and attributes of shopping products and shopping stores. We then examined the relationship between the travel motivation and shopping products and shopping channels. A questionnaire method was applied for this survey, while factor analysis and regression analysis were used to analyze data. The results are listed below. First, nature & leisure, rest, family, pleasure, hobby & fitness, and discovery were identified as 6 factors of travel motivation. Second, shopping products of overseas tourists were categorized into three types: fashion & luxury, daily goods, and memento. There were four attributes of products, namely, design, utility, economy, and prestige. Major types of shopping stores were souvenir shops, fashion channels and local markets; the shopping store attributes identified were location & salesperson, assortment & atmosphere, and display. Third, overseas tourists' motivation was shown to influence the selection of product types and attributes. Those who traveled for rest, family, pleasure, hobby & fitness orientation were inclined to purchase fashion & luxury goods, and daily goods; however, those who traveled for rest and hobby & fitness orientation also tended to buy memento. The effect of the travel motivation was shown to be different according to product attributes. Fourth, tourists' motivation was shown to affect store type selection and attributes. Those whose traveled for rest, family, pleasure, hobby & fitness preferred souvenir shops while those seeking nature & leisure and pleasure tended to visit fashion channels and local markets more often. Travelers seeking nature & leisure and discovery cared for all three store attributes while family oriented and pleasure seeking tourists considered shopping store location, salesperson and display attributes as important.
The purposes of this study were to measure price elasticities of menu items of a family restaurant, identify differences of price elasticity between subgroups, and provide a comprehensive understanding on price elasticity. 3 menu items of a salad buffet family restaurant in Seoul were selected for analyses, and a questionnaire was developed through literature review and modified after pilot test. The questionnaires for main survey were distributed to 250 customers on their visit to the restaurant, and a total of 139 questionnaires were used for analyses (55.6%). Statistical analyses were conducted using SPSS Win (12.0) for descriptive analyses, t-test, ANOVA, and the main results of this study were as follows. The demands were expected very elastic to the changes in prices of all 3 menu items, and there were significant differences between groups of different company types. In addition, the changes in use were less affected by the changes in menu price when customers were satisfied with each menu item. On the basis of these results, it was concluded that price increases of menu items should be companied by quality improvement of products and services, and differentiated marketing strategy for each segments of customers would be helpful to profitability of the restaurant. Overall, measurement of price elasticity could help to predict customer behaviors on price changes, and give much useful information for managers and marketers of foodservice organizations in development of price strategies.
By identifying the effects of support from spouse and family on the mental health of marriage immigrant women, this study was proposed in obtaining basic data for a mental health intervention program. This study is a descriptive correlation study conducted on 129 marriage immigrant women as subjects. The result of the study showed differences in the following: for anxiety, depending on their country of origin, length of marriage, family structure, marriage structure, visit back home, and Korean language skill; for depression, depending on their spouse's education level, providing financial support for family back home, and Korean language skill; for somatization disorder, depending on their spouses' education level, area of residence, and occupation. Also, anxiety and depression showed a negative correlation with support from spouse and family, and somatization disorder showed a negative correlation with support from family. The main variable for mental health was support from family; for anxiety, the main variables were country of origin, length of marriage, and marriage structure; for somatization disorder, the main variables were spouse's education level, area or residence, and occupation. Based on the results of this study, a variety of mental health programs helpful for immigrant women in adapting to their multi-faceted and complex life in a different culture and nursing interventions for improving support from family would need to be developed.

"It's Only the End of the World" is a work that expresses in depth the perception, attitude, and reflection of a person's death. Composed of a simple story of a protagonist who has been diagnosed with AIDS and has been visiting his hometown for the first time in 12 years, this work constantly asks us what a family is in this process. The visit, which aims to inform one's condition, restore the relationship with his family as he wished, and foremost but in a beautiful parting, reveals the feelings of resentment, hatred and criticism between the family members who have been hiding or trying to accept. Are family relationships always understood and must be forgiven and cared for? The director looks into the abyss of the relationship and reveals the painful truth we wanted to hide. And we realize that this painful truth is a reality. Louis's negative stance, and the complaints and dissatisfaction of the family members who were waiting for him were absolutely inadequate in narrowing the gap. This family, each of whom has a wound and does not really understand each other, shows a deep bond of feelings toward each other, though they are tied together in a 'family' community.

This exploratory study, related to the introduction of Western-style family doctors, was conducted based on a comparative survey of medical care satisfaction in foreign residents of the U.S. and Canada based on a consumer-centered perspective. As a result of statistical analysis based on 493 collections of empirical data from 2016 to 2018, the main conclusions of this study are as follows. First, there was no evidence that satisfaction with US and Canadian family doctors was higher than the satisfaction with Korean primary care physicians. Second, satisfaction with Korean primary care physicians was high with regard to treatment, promptness, etc., and there was no evidence that foreign family doctor systems were better in terms of sufficient counseling and explanation. Third, overseas Koreans in the United States showed less satisfaction with their family doctors than Koreans in Canada. Fourth, overseas Koreans preferred to visit a hospital directly, without a referral from the family doctor. In conclusion, there is insufficient evidence showing that satisfaction with family doctors in the U.S. and Canada is higher than satisfaction with primary care doctors in Korea. Therefore, a more in-depth, additional analysis on the Western-style family doctor is needed before introducing such a system in Korea.
Objectives : In Korea, pharmacists can dispense medicines without doctor's prescription. This causes the high proportion of pharmaceutical expenditures. The study shows the prescribing behaviors of practicing pharmacists with the simulated patient of arthritis. We select the arthritis as a subject of simulation, because the arthritis is one of the major health problems and the abuse of cortico-steroids is usual in treatment of arthritis patients. Methods : Twenty drug stores among the 320 drug stores in a district, Seoul, Korea were randomly selected. One of the researchers visited the drug stores and received the medicines from the pharmacists after explaining standardized scenario of arthritis. The simulated patient recorded the practice behaviors of pharmacists. Results: The mean number of prescribed drugs are four and half. Among the twenty pharmacists, the nineteen prescribed non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and the seven(35%) prescribed the cortico-steroids. The antacids were prescribed by the fourteen(70%) pharmacists. The five(25%) pharmacists only recommended the simulated patients to visit the medical doctors, and the three(15%) performed physical examination to the simulated patients. The three pharmacists(15%) asked the past history of the drug adverse effects and no pharmacist explained the adverse effects of prescribed medicines. Conclusions : The research shows that the cortico-steroids are frequently prescribed and the pharmacists commonly do not give the explanations of the prescribed medicines to the arthritis patients.
The purpose of this study is to prove that the appropriate fit between service failure and recovery strategy can efficiently maximize customer satisfaction and behavioral intention, by using the prepared scenario through comprehensive approach concerning how the expectation level of service recovery has influence on perceived fairness, satisfaction and behavioral intention of service recovery based upon size in case of service failure. This study has been conducted by way of selection of filling-up type questionnaires for customers themselves who have experience in service failure out of customers who can easily visit family and hotel restaurants, that is, domestic restaurants in Seoul area, $June{\sim}August$ 2004, by setting factorial design of 2(control, severeness)$\times$3(distributive fairness, procedural fairness, mutual relational fairness)$\times$2(customer satisfaction, customer behavior). The survey was performed on the customers who visited common restaurants, family restaurants, hotel restaurants, etc. mainly in Seoul, and total 600 sheets of questionnaires were distributed and 496 sheets of them were returned(82.67% of return ratio). Research findings are as follows; First, perceived recovery justice has an effect on customer satisfaction and behavioral intention. Second, customer satisfaction and restaurant satisfaction have positive influence on behavioral intention. The results will be helpful for them to develop a further service failure and recovery framework. For service marketing managers, the results will suggest specific guidelines for establishing service recovery strategies.
This study classifies the types of visitors to experiential fishing villages and analyses the features and target marketing strategies by categorical groups. Seven factors are extracted by Factor Analysis and the results of Cluster Analysis indicate the classification of five groups. The first group puts emphasis on the family connection, so family centered facilities and programs are necessary. The second group is composed of surrounding area residents whose purpose of visit is unclear. So environmentally friendly village development programs to encourage local patriotism are necessary. The third group puts emphasis on the necessary facilities and programs for experiencing the fishing village and traditional play, etc. The fourth group emphasizes programs related with the region and the means to satisfy visitor's aesthetic desires. Finally, the fifth group aims at various desires that are generally felt in experiential fishing villages. So this group requires marketing strategies from the public point of view. The existing research mostly surveys rural tourism villages, but this study highlights the difference in dealing with fishing villages as opposed to rural villages, from the perspective of industry and settlement.

Purpose: This study aimed at understanding terminal care provided in nursing homes. Method: An interview survey with staff in charge of terminal care was conducted in 97 nursing homes using questionnaires. The questionnaire was reviewed by 3 experts and pretested at 5 facilities. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, chi-square test, and Fisher's exact test. Result: Dyspnea was the most prevalent symptom predicting death. The most prevalent services were vital sign check for physical care, providing services by talking despite an unconscious state for psychosocial care, and respecting the faith of the elder for spiritual care. Employment of a registered nurse showed a significant difference in tube feeding (p=.035), analgesic administration (p=.022), informing the elder of end-of-life state (p=.020), helping an elderly person say good-byes through a visit with friends and acquaintances (p=.023), and helping express feelings related to death (p=.002). Lack of service was noticed for elderly resident, family, and staff after death of an elder. Problems related to terminal care were indifference of family members, difficulty in obtaining medical prescription, difficulty in predicting death, and so forth. Conclusion: Terminal care must be improved by making specific guidelines and it must become a part of nursing home evaluation.
The purpose of this study is to compare and analyze the process of hospital visits according to the characteristics of the elderly visiting to emergency medical centers. The subject of study was 571 patients over the age of 65 who agreed to participate in the study of emergency medical centers from May 1 to 31, 2010. The frequency, percentage and ${\chi}^2$ test of collected data were conducted with SPSS WIN 12.0. As a result, the frequency of the aged with or without urgency revisiting emergency rooms due to chronic degenerative diseases was high. In addition, there were many cases that the aged living only with a spouse or remaining single. It was obscure to classify them into a urgent or non-emergent group which made it longer time to visit a hospital. It may be necessary that the care for urgent elderly patients considering the characteristics of the family environment functions to care the elderly were weakened.
