  • The first purpose of this study was to reveal the types of shopping value of college students. The second purpose was to examine the change in the perception and management behaviors related to credit cards according to the types of shopping value. The third purpose was to examine the effects of shopping value on perception and management behaviors on credit cards. The data were collected from 392 college students in Seoul by a self-administered questionnaire. Analyses including frequency, mean, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson's correlation analysis, Crosstabulation analysis, analysis of variance, K-means Cluster analysis and Multiple linear regression were conducted using SPSS WIN12.0. The major findings were as follows. First, college students can be categorized into 3 types of shopping values by K-means Cluster analysis of 14 items. The groups were entitled the hedonistic shopping value, the utilitarian shopping value, and the saving shopping value. Second, positive perception and management behaviors related to credit cards were different depending on the types of shopping value. The hedonistic shopping value group had a higher level of positive perception of credit cards and a lower level of credit card management, compared with the other groups. The saving shopping value group had higher levels of both positive perception and management of credit cards. Among the three groups, the utilitarian shopping group had the lowest level of positive perception of credit cards, despite having ahigher level of credit card management. Lastly, the most effective variance on credit card management was the utilitarian shopping value. These results suggest that a healthy shopping value is very important for having a healthy perception and management of credit cards, because shopping value is a critical variance to affect perception and management of credit cards.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to understand the mechanisms of decision regret and stress of family surrogates' end-of-life decision making using an exploratory path model. In particular, the research identified the direct effects of perceptions of uncertainty and effective decisions on decision regret and stress, and examined the indirect effects of being informed, having clear values, and being supported for decision regret and the stress of end-of-life decision making through the mediating variables of perceptions of uncertainty and effective decisions. Methods: Data were collected from 102 family surrogates who had participated in end-of-life decision making for patients with terminal cancer in a tertiary hospital. Results: Perception of effective decisions was a significant direct predictor of decision regret, and uncertainty was a significant predictor of stress among the participants. Being informed, having clear values, and being supported had a significant indirect influence on decision regret through the perception of effective decisions among family surrogates. However, only having clear values had a significant indirect influence on stress through the perception of uncertainty. The model explained 63.0% of decision regret and 20.0% of stress among the participants and showed a good fit with the data, ${\chi}^2=12.40$ (df=8, p=.134), TLI=.97, and RMSEA=.07. Conclusion: Nurses can support family surrogates in end-of-life decision-making processes to decrease their decision regret by providing information about end-of-life care choices, clarifying personal values, and supporting the decision-making process, and to relieve their stress by facilitating the clarification of personal values.

The subjects of this study consisted of 56 directors, 231 teachers, and 299 parents in childcare centers in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Chungcheong, and Gyeongsang province. They completed a questionnaire about the perception and needs of an open-childcare center, which was later analyzed by SPSS ver. 23.0. The findings were as follows. First, five areas of open-childcare center were 'participating activities as various roles,' 'willingness of parent participation,' 'reflection of parent needs,' 'concern about CCTV,' and 'sharing outdoor spaces.' Second, the perception of directors concerning open-childcare centers were higher than the ones for teachers or parents; however, there were differences in perception depending on their perspective position. The biggest perception of directors was 'participating activities as various roles,' and parents' one was 'concerned about CCTV.' However, the perceptions of teachers were a lower level than the other two groups'. Third, the directors showed a higher level of needs to promote an open-childcare center (except for one concerned about CCTV). Parents also showed their needs 'increasing awareness of open-childcare program,' 'promoting to parent's participation,' 'communication with on-line,' and 'concerning CCTV.' The implication of these results were discussed as action plans to promote an open-childcare center.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore perception about shared decision making of family caregivers of patients with early dementia (PWED). This study was conducted with a sample of 12 family caregivers (mean age = $71.4{\pm}10.4$) of PWED from three dementia safety centers in Seoul. In-depth interviews were done for each participant about shared decision making and data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. Six categories and 17 sub-categories identified for participants' perception about shared decision making: means to facilitate communication with patients with dementia, means to secure autonomy of patients, opportunity to facilitate treatment, cause of increasing family caregivers' burden, cause of worsening relationship with patients, and option for choices depending on priority change. The findings of this study can provide a knowledge basis for health care professionals and policy makers to understand how family caregivers of PWED think about shared decision making. It would be of great value to develop educational programs and practical guidelines about shared decision making for PWED and their family, which may contribute to respecting PWED's self-determination right as well as reducing burden of their family.

  • This study was conducted to identify the social perception of schizophrenic patients through films expressed in schizophrenic patients. We analyzed 48 films and scenarios that have been screened for the last 40 years by content analysis method to perceive interpersonal and emotional perception, perception of families and treatment measures. Patients were violent, dangerous, and burdensome to the family. However, specific experience or internal description has increased, and attitude of family or patients related to treatment has been more actively described since 1996. In conclusion, the perception of patients seen negative, want to avoid, giving burdens and pain to others. Therefore, to improve the social perception of mental disorders, it is necessary to make active use of films that have a high impact on public perception, and try to study the influence of visual media on perception change.
