Purpose: The purpose of this study was to explore the influencing factors on the family caregivers burden who have has inpatients with acute stroke. Methods: Subjects were 126 family caregivers who have has inpatients with acute stroke. Data were collected by questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe's test, Pearson's coefficients and multiple regression. Results: The Anxiety of family caregivers was identified as a determinant of family caregivers burden who have has inpatients with acute stroke by the multiple regression analysis (${\beta}=.58$, p<.001). Gender and low cognitive function of inpatients were significantly related to family caregivers burden. And knowledge about care (r=-.27, p=.002) was correlated with anxiety significantly. Conclusion: The family caregivers burden is not only an important issue for nursing but also major nursing problem to be addressed nurses. Family caregivers with acute stroke inpatients feel more anxiety than family caregivers with other illnesses. The anxiety of family caregivers is important especially to the family caregivers who have to care acute stroke inpatients to reduce their burden.
Background: The healthcare needs of cancer patients are complex and persons involved in their caregiving process are faced with many issues that need to be addressed. The entire family and particularly the person taking on responsibility for patient care develop expectations from healthcare professionals, especially nurses. Objective: The study was conducted to evaluate the impact of a home education program provided to caregivers of cancer patients on the level of their perceived social support and problems in caregiving. Interventions/Methods: The caregivers of thirty seven cancer patients of 2,400 registered people in a family center were given an educational program in this descriptive and cross-sectional study twice a week for a month during the period of March 2011 - April 2011. Results: Of all caregivers, 56.8% were between the ages 36-40, 94.5% were female, 91.9% had received no education on caregiving, 81.0% stated that they mostly felt physically and mentally inadequate in their caregiving. Perceived Social Support from the family indicated a significant difference at $8.05{\pm}4.38$ before and $11.7{\pm}4.97$ after the education. A comparison of the mean scores of caregivers on emotional issues before and after the education revealed the following: spiritual distress scores were $2.54{\pm}0.69$ before and $2.44{\pm}0.43$ after the education; hopelessness scores, $2.24{\pm}0.59$ before and $2.23{\pm}0.38$ after the education; ineffective individual coping was $3.89{\pm}1.42$ before and $2.45{\pm}0.59$ after the education; competing needs in decision-making were $3.54{\pm}0.69$ before and $2.10{\pm}1.24$ after the education; depressive feeling were $3.01{\pm}1.53$ before and $2.02{\pm}0.99$ after the education (p<0.05). Conclusions: Positive effects of home education on levels of perceived social support and caregiving problems of caregivers of cancer patients were observed. Home educational programs for caregivers of cancer patients are important for both better understanding of the requirements of their patients and themselves.

The purpose of this study is to guide in providing quality services to meet the needs of married immigrants and their families. The researched agencies in this study were 14 public agencies and local government agencies, 21 married-immigrant family support centers, and 11 community social welfare centers located in the Seoul and Kyung-Gi areas. The program was categorized by the participating researchers, SPSS WIN 12.0 was used to calculate frequency, percentage and average then cross-tabulation was initiated. The results of the study are as follows: 1) The married-immigrant family support centers provide dominant services compared to public agencies and local government agencies, and community social welfare centers are located in the region of Seoul and Kyoung-Gi in the service areas of education, counseling, culture, child care and protect, support group and network. 2) All agencies provide service targeted to married immigrant women and their children 3) Three different types of agencies are mainly focused on providing Korean education programs. Married-immigrant family support centers and community social welfare centers are focused on providing computer skills programs. Public agencies and local government agencies are focused on providing vocation-oriented education. 4) Married-immigrant family support centers were investigated to service to the needs of married-immigrant families through networking with their neighboring communities.

This study verifies the effectiveness of developing and implementing a leadership educational program specifically customized to improve of leadership competencies among members of multicultural family support centers and healthy family support centers. This program refers to Triangle Leadership that consists of three categories: finding individual strengths and self-esteem to enhance self-leadership, constructing a vision and roadmap to develop transformational leadership, and stress and teamwork management for competent servant leadership. In order to improve its completeness, focus group interview was adopted for 10 employees in the center and supervised by two professionals. The program was also conducted twice for 142 members of multicultural family support centers and healthy family support centers across the Korea. The result of implementation (with regard to the satisfaction level for the contents of the program) showed that both first and second rounds had improvement in all three categories compared to what was expected before taking the education program. The level of satisfaction for instructor and program operation was more enhanced (as well for the second time) compared to the first round. The evidence of program effectiveness indicates that there is a high anticipation for another approach that suits for the circumstances and requirement of centers and facilitator training.
Multicultural Family Support Centers (MFSC) have provided five program areas including family, gender equality, human rights, social integration, and counseling since 2015. It is important to examine the MFSC staff's perceptions of the family programs and program needs for multicultural families to improve the effectiveness of these programs. In this study, we aim to explore the staff's perceptions of the family programs and to assess multicultural family program needs based on the family life cycle. A total of 130 MFSC staff were recruited through 128 MFSCs across Korea. Descriptive statistics were conducted for data analysis. Our findings revealed that MFSC staff have increasingly recognized that their target audiences are not only marriage immigrants and their families but also foreign workers' families and families from North Korea. In addition, the MFSC staff identified the importance of family programs instead of only programs for individual family members and multicultural families' different program needs based on their family life cycle. Contrary to the positive perception of the family programs, they described challenges of the family programs including a shortage of funds, difficulty recruiting family member combinations (e.g., couples, parent-child) for family programs, a lack of a program manual, and a heavy workload. This study provides insights into the family programs including their development and delivery.
Purpose: This study was conducted to develop an e-Learning program that assists nursing students' clinical Purpose: This study was conducted to develop and evaluate a web-based education program for secondary stroke prevention. Methods: A web-based secondary stroke prevention education program was developed using the system's life cycle methods and evaluated by comparing the effects of education among three groups, a web group, a booklet group and a control group. Results: Knowledge level of both patients and family, as well as some health behavior compliance in the web-based and booklet education groups were significantly higher than those of the control group. Family support in the web-based and booklet education groups was significantly higher than that of the control group after 12 weeks. The urine cotinine level in the web-based education group was significantly lower than that of the control group after 12 weeks. Medication adherence, blood pressure and perceived health status were not statistically different among the three groups at any time. Conclusion: Webbased and booklet education programs were equally effective regarding the level of knowledge of patients and their families, family support, health behavior compliance, and urine cotinine level. These results demonstrate the potential use of a webbased education program for secondary stroke prevention.

The purpose of the descriptive correlation study was to examine relations among the hope, the burden and the family function in mothers caring for children with cancer. 145 mothers completed the three questionaires of the study divided into tree sections: a) The Hope Scale, b) The Burden Scale, c) FACES-Ⅲ. The collected data was analysed with t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test and Pearson correlation coefficients. The results were as follows: 1) The average age of mothers of children with cancer was 35.6 years old and the ages between 30 to 39 were the most abundant. 57.3% of the mothers had an education level of below high school education and 66.0% had religion. The average age of the children was 8.6 years old. Ages between 1 to 7 were the most and 60.8% were diagnosed as leukemia. 2) Regarding the section of degree of burden, mothers of children with cancer marked 2.6 out of 5, and the degree of hope 3.2 out of 4. The result for family function came out to be 3.5 out of 5, an average of family cohesion of 3.9 and family adaptation of 3.1. 3) There were significantly less burden to the mothers who were living together with a spouse compared to the mothers who were not. Also mothers who replied that they preserved good health came out to be exposed to less burden compared to the mothers who did not. In analysing hope according to the general characteristics of mothers of children with cancer, mothers who were employed marked high in the degree of hope compared to unemployed mothers. Furthermore, the degree of family cohesion marked higher with mothers who had higher education of college graduate, mothers with religion and mothers with a monthly family income of over ₩3,000,000, compared to the group of mothers with lower education of high school graduate, non-religious or with a monthly family income of less than ₩1,000,000. 4) Excluding the fact that the group sorted with children diagnosed as leukemia marked a perceivably high score regarding family cohesion, compared to groups with other cancers, the degree of burden, hope and family cohesion did not show any noticeable difference according to characteristics of children with different cancers. 5) In the correlation of the hope, the burden and the family function regarding the mothers of children with cancer, the burden did not have any manifest relationship with hope or family function. However, the degree of hope and family function cohesion had a direct proportional relationship, as family cohesion marked higher when the degree of hope were high.
The Korean government implemented better support for adolescent single-parent families by expanding the coverage of the Single-parent Family Support Act in 2010. In order to understand the effect, this study verified the moderating effect of the single-parent family policy's support for child rearing in the context of adolescent female single-parent's stress levels and education sustainability. This study utilized part of the National Youth Policy Institute's 'Research on the Actual Condition of the Adolescent Pregnancy, Birth and Rearing Children'. Participants of the study were 248 adolescent single-parents aged 24 and below. The findings and discussion of this study are as follows. First, the stress level of adolescent female single-parent in continuing studies was lower than those for discontinued studies. Students who discontinued their education in the middle of studies showed an increase in life stress level relative to age because they had a low level of education and had discontinued studies before pregnancy. Second, the public nanny service has been verified as an element to increase the continuation of education by controlling the level of stress. It is advisable to fortify and expand the scope of support for childcare services in the form of a study assistant or child education assistant. Last, adolescent single-parent childcare subsidies have been verified as a direct factor that raised the meaningful level of education continuity potential to a meaningful standard that can be seen as a more effective method than general policy support for single-parent families.

Our study examines if the existence of a housewife in a family increases private education fees or not, which have continued to burden the family expenditure in Korea. Main findings are as follows: First, the existence of a housewife in a family have an positive impact on the private education expenses, irrespective of the model. Second, the higher decile the less the effect of the housewife on the private education cost. However, the first decile is an exception. Third, the housewife effect of a laborer family is stronger than that of a non-laborer family. It implies that laborers who earn the income regularly expend more money on their children's private education than nonlaborers.
The purpose of this study was to (1) assess the perceived needs of the married women for financial management education and (2) to identify individual and family variables that influence needs on each content of financial management education. Data were collected from questionaires with 603 married women who were residents of jeonju. The major findings were as follows; (1) The level of financial management education needs were high. (2) The priority order on each content perceived by the married women was 'saving' 'insurance' 'housing' 'tax' 'expenditure planning' and 'debt management & credit' (3) The needs on contents area of the married women group classified by characteristics were significant according to age education level job family life cycle monthly family income asset and financial need variables.
