  • This study was conducted to investigate the effects of wheat germ on medium flour using falling number and RVA tests, as well as farinogram and rheofermentometer analyses. The wheat germ was added to the medium flour on a 3, 5, and 7% basis. Falling numbers increased with increasing amounts of wheat germ. Analysis of the RVA characteristics showed that the wheat germ additions did not have significant effects on the initial pasting temperature. In the farinogram, water absorption decreased with an increasing amount of wheat germ. Also, development time was longest in the control group and shortest in the group with the highest addition of wheat germ. The results of the effects of added wheat germ on fermentation by rheofermentometer analysis showed that the H'm value reached a maximum height at 3%. Finally, the volume of $CO_2$ lost was increased whereas the retention coefficient was decreased.

  • The purpose of this study was conducted with senior women of ages 65 in Community Center to identify effective exercise methods for preventing falling accidents by enhancing balancing skills through aerobic and foam roller exercise programs. There were 24 subjects : 11 aerobics group and 13 foam roller group. 30 minute exercise programs were conducted against both groups 12 times 6 weeks. Various tests, including Time up and go test, Forward reach test, One-leg standing with eyes open/closed and Y-Balance were conducted prior to commencing the exercise program. Wilcoxon's Signed-ranks test was executed to analyze the changes in balance of the aerobic and foam roller exercise group prior to and after the experiment, and Mann-Whitney test was executed to compare the difference between the two groups. The Y-Balance(post. medial) show statistically significant differences in the amount of change before and after exercise between the two groups, except for Timed up and go test, Forward reach test, Y-Balance(ant.), and Y-Balance(post. lateral), which did not showed statistically significant difference (p<0.05). Foam roller exercises are effective methods to enhance the balancing skills in senior women to prevent falling accidents.

  • This paper proposes a method to track object of real-time video transferred through single web-camera and to recognize risk-situation and human actions. The proposed method recognizes human basic actions that human can do in daily life and finds risk-situation such as faint and falling down to classify usual action and risk-situation. The proposed method models the background, obtains the difference image between input image and the modeled background image, extracts human object from input image, tracts object's motion and recognizes human actions. Tracking object uses the moment information of extracting object and the characteristic of object's recognition is moment's change and ratio of object's size between frames. Actions classified are four actions of walking, waling diagonally, sitting down, standing up among the most actions human do in daily life and suddenly falling down is classified into risk-situation. To test the proposed method, we applied it for eight participants from a video of a web-cam, classify human action and recognize risk-situation. The test result showed more than 97 percent recognition rate for each action and 100 percent recognition rate for risk-situation by the proposed method.

  • The dielectric permittance and the dielectric loss factor of several lubricating oils were measured at frequencies from 100 Hz to 1.5 MHz. The measurements were carried out under atmospheric pressure as a function of temperature and under fixed temperature as a function of pressure. Temperature and pressure dependence of dielectric relaxation time were investigated. The temperature dependence of relaxation time obeyed the Vogel-Fulcher-Tammann (VFT) law. We modified the VFT equation in order to express the dielectric relaxation time as a function of temperature and pressure. Furthermore. by taking into consideration the similarity of the temperature and pressure dependence between dielectric relaxation and mechanical relaxation. the prediction of high-pressure viscosity were conducted. The predicted results were compared with the viscosity data obtained from the falling-sphere type viscometer.

  • We proposed a new cross-coupled level shifter circuit using low temperature poly-Si(LTPS) TFT. The proposed level shifter can operate on low input voltage in spite of low mobility and widely varying high threshold voltage of LTPS TFT. Also, the proposed level shifter operates at high frequency and reduces power consumption for having fast rising and falling time and shortening period flowing short-circuit currents.

  • This paper describes the improvement of frequency characteristic of crystal oscillator I.C using Ti-Salicide. The characteristics of transistor(drive current) using Ti-Salicide process are better than Poly-Si process, because the mobility. To know frequency characteristic of oscillator I.C, the simulation is performed using inverter buffer chain of Fan-out 10 TTL. Its result shows at once the generation of normal clock pulse in input signal and the improvement of rising and falling time.

  • This study has adapted a genetic algorithm for an optimal design for the first time. the models that was used a simulation are the first and second order response surfaces model, Using an genetic algorithm in D-opimal it is more efficient than previous algorithms to get an object function. Not like other algorithm without any restrictions like troublesome about the initial solution not falling into a local optimal solution it's the most suitable algorithm.

  • Uniform metal-droplet deposition using laser is analyzed. Using the variation principle and modeling the semi-solid phase as a non-Netwonian slurry, this model can greatly save the computational expenses that conventional numerical procedures have suffered from. The simulation results revealed that the developed model could reasonably describe the collision behavior of molten metal with solid surface. Simulations were made with variation of the falling distance and time.

  • Ballasted track is constructed in consideration of the maintenance. The application time and frequency of MTT(Multiple Tie Tamper) and BS(Ballast Cleaner) depend on track geometry measurements. This paper presents the application of Ground Penetrating Radar(GPR), Falling Weight Deflectometer(FWD), and Portable Ballast Sampler (PBS) to evaluate the effects of track geometry due to substructure deterioration and to build a reliable substructure evaluation system.

  • The vibration of power lines in rainy environments was researched using the concentric cylindrical gap to which D.C. voltage was applied. Consequently, it has been solidly conformed that the vibration of power lines begins at threshold voltage of corona, and that the amplitude of the vibration increases as the numbers of falling water drop per unit time increase. The vibration phenomen take place in straight line, elliptic or circular motion as voltage is applied the numbers of vibration nearay accord with the elastic vibrarion theory.
