기어 결함 검출을 위한 포락처리와 웨이블릿 변환의 적용 (Application of Envelop Analysis and Wavelet Transform for Detection of Gear Failure)

  • Vibration analysis is widely used in machinery diagnosis and the wavelet transform has also been implemented in many applications in the condition monitoring of machinery. In contrast to previous applications, this paper examines whether acoustic signal can be used effectively along vibration signal to detect the various local fault, in local fault of gearboxes using the wavelet transform. Moreover, envelop analysis is well known as useful tool for the detection of rolling element bearing fault. In this paper, a acoustic emission (AE) sensor is employed to detect gearbox damage by installing them around bearing housing at driven-end side. Signal processing is conducted by wavelet transform and enveloping to detect her fault all at once gearbox using AE signal.

  • A good grasp of the failure mechanisms of resistance spot weld, widely used in joining the auto-panels, in essential to the structural/crashworthy analyses and integrity assessment of the whole auto-body. In this study, We provide an estimative model describing the failure behavior of resistance spotf weld, and apply the model to the finite element analysis of crashworthiness. First, in "Part 1-Failure Criteria", to be used for the finite element analysis of spot-welded structural panels of an auto-body, (i) a methodology for quantifying the spot weld failure and the accompanying failure criteria are presented, and (ii) the coefficients of the failure equation are determined by a munimum number of appropriate experimental tests. To achieve these, we derive the functional form of the failure envelop by limit analysis, and correlate it with the form in PAM-$CRASH^{TM}$ code, and also investigate the effect of the failure coefficients on the failure envelop form. An estimative model obtained in this Part1, as spot weld failure criteria is applied to the Macroscopic finite element analysis of autobody structural panels using PAM-$CRASH^{TM}$ code in Part 2.

  • In order study, experimental stress-strain relationships were achieved for various suctions by triaxial tests. A failure envelop was occurred on a plane in p-q-$\psi$ space, since the level of matric suction is in the small range. It was found that the failure criteria could be defined uniquely by the Bishop stress and were also independent of matric suctions. At the level of small strain, deformation moduli were evaluated according to matric suctions by fitting to Ramberg-Osgood model. It was found that deformation moduli increase as matric suctions increase.

  • To detect the failures in machine, the signals of current, vibration and acoustic emission are widely used in industry. And unexpected failures of gears are not only extremely damaging but also lead to economic losses. In this paper, to detect the misalignment occurred at between two gears in gearboxes, the signals of current, vibration and AE were measured at gearbox and motor power line. FFT(Fast Fourier Transform) was used for current and vibration signal analysis to find gear failure frequency. Especially, the envelop analysis and wavelet transform were applied for AE signal. Therefore, compared with the results of three kinds of signal, the possibility of earily detection by AE is identified or checked.

보강재 연결 유.무에 따른 보강토옹벽의 보강효과 (Improved Effects of Reinforced Wall with Types of Connection Methods)

  • 본 연구에서는 보강토 구조물에 이용되는 지오그리드와 국내에 많이 분포하고 있는 화강풍화토를 대상으로 하여, 보강재의 포설깊이가 동일한 상태에서 보강재의 길이를 벽체높이의 0.465배, 0.685배, 0.9배로 설치하여 보강재가 전면벽체에 정착된 경우와 비정착된 경우에 대하여 모형실험을 실시하였다. 모형실험결과, 정착된 경우에는 보강재의 길이가 증가함에 따라 지지력은 무보강인 경우 보다 약 1.725~2.1배 증가함을 알 수 있었으며, 침하량도 약 20%이상의 감소율을 보였다. 전면 벽체의 최대 수평변위량은 무보강에 비해 약 80%이상의 감소율을 보였다. 비정착된 경우에도 무보 강인 경우보다 지지력이 약 1.7배이상 증가하였으며, 전면벽체의 최대 수평변위는 약 50%이상 감소하였다. 모형실험을 통해 고찰한 파괴면은 Bchlosser 등(1979)의 연구결과와 유사하게 나타났다.

  • Factors influencing shear behavior of granular material include particle size, shape, distribution, relative density, particle crushing, etc. In this study, these factors are characterized by viewpoint of shear behavior using numerical analysis based on DEM. Geometrical particle shape is represented by a combination of small circular particles and influence of particle shape on crushing is studied through relative comparisons between clump (uncrushable) and cluster (crushable) models which are modeled using DEM. Also, particle shape is quantified by the dimensionless parameters such as circularity and convexity. The results indicate that particle shape indexes have a negative association with internal friction angle. Also, internal friction angle becomes reduced and failure envelop curve becomes nonlinear due to the particle crushing. It is also found that numerical results are quite good agreement with the experimental test conducted in this study.

Seismic behavior of steel frames with lightweight-low strength industrialized infill walls

  • JK wall is a shear wall made of lightweight EPS mortar and reinforced with a 3-D galvanized steel mesh, called JK panel, and truss-like stiffeners, called JK stiffeners. Earlier studies have shown that low strength lightweight concrete has the potential to be used in structural elements. In this study, seismic contribution of the JK infill walls surrounded by steel frames is numerically investigated. Adopting a hybrid numerical model, behavior envelop of the wall is derived from the general purpose finite element software, Abaqus. Obtained backbone would be implemented in the professional analytical software, SAP2000, in which through calibrated hysteretic parameters, cyclic behavior of the JK infill can be simulated. Through comparison with earlier experimental results, it turned out that the proposed hybrid modeling can simulate monotonic and cyclic behavior of JK walls with good accuracy. JK infills have a panel-type configuration which their dominant failure mode would be ductile in flexure. Finally technical and economical advantages of the proposed JK infills are assessed for two representative multistory buildings. It is revealed that JK infills can reduce maximum inter-story drifts as well as residual drifts at the expense of minor increase in the developed base shear.

정규압밀점토(正規壓密粘土)의 거동(擧動)에 미치는 K0-압밀효과(壓密効果) (Effect of K0-Consolidation in Behavior of Normally Consolidated Clay)

  • 점토입자(粘土粒子)가 등방적으로 퇴적된 후 $K_0$-압밀(壓密)이력을 받으면 응력유도이방성(應力誘導異方性)을 지니게 되므로 정규압밀점토(正規壓密粘土)의 현위치거동(現位置擧動)을 조사하려면 $K_0$-압밀(壓密)에 의한 영향을 검토할 필요가 있다. 실내에서 반죽성형하여 얻은 점토공시체(粘土供試體)에 대하여 등방압밀 및 $K_0$-압밀을 실시한 후 비배수삼축압축시험 및 배수삼축압축시험을 실시하여 $K_0$-압밀이력의 영향을 검토하였다. $K_0$-압밀이력은 축차응력거동(軸差應力擧動)에 영향을 크게 미치나 유효주응력비거동(有効主應力比擧動)에는 영향이 작다. 특히 비배수시험의 초기변형단계에서는 축차응력거동(軸差應力擧動)에 영향을 크게 미친다. 따라서, $K_0$-압밀시료의 비배수강도거동은 등방압밀비배수시험으로 추정될 수 없다. 그러나, 최대유효주응력비(最大有效主應力比擧動)파괴기준에 의한 파괴포락선은 압밀이력 및 배수조건에 관계없이 유일한 곡선(曲線)이다.

축하중 재하말뚝의 하중전이 거동에 대한 수치해석 (A Numerical Analysis of Load Transfer Behavior of Axially Loaded Piles)

  • 축하중 재하시 실제 강관말뚝의 거동을 API 하중전이 곡선을 이용한 유한차분해석과 FLAC 프로그램을 이용한 수치해석으로 분석하였다. 실험적으로 계측한 말뚝두부의 하중-변위 관계와 깊이에 따른 축하중 분포를 적합하게 예측할 수 있었다. 특히, FLAC 프로그램 해석결과에서는 하중 제거시 매립층에서 응력 경로가 파괴 포락선 상에서 발생하여 비선형적인 하중-변위 관계를 매우 유터사하게 예측할 수 있었다. 또한 FLAC 프로그램 해석결과 및 API 규준에 따른 하중전이 관계를 실험결과와 비교하여, 말뚝-지반간 전이거동을 분석하였다. 사례연구를 통하여 API 하중전이관계를 이용한 유한차분해석이나 FLAC 프로그램을 이용한 수치해석으로 축하중 재하 말뚝의 공학적인 거동을 합리적으로 평가할 수 있음을 알 수 있었다.
