Let R be a factorial domain. In this work we investigate the connections between the arithmetic of Int(R) (i.e., the ring of integer-valued polynomials over R) and its monadic submonoids (i.e., monoids of the form {$g{\in}Int(R){\mid}g{\mid}_{Int(R)}f^k$ for some $k{\in}{\mathbb{N}}_0$} for some nonzero $f{\in}Int(R)$). Since every monadic submonoid of Int(R) is a Krull monoid it is possible to describe the arithmetic of these monoids in terms of their divisor-class group. We give an explicit description of these divisor-class groups in several situations and provide a few techniques that can be used to determine them. As an application we show that there are strong connections between Int(R) and its monadic submonoids. If $R={\mathbb{Z}}$ or more generally if R has sufficiently many "nice" atoms, then we prove that the infinitude of the elasticity and the tame degree of Int(R) can be explained by using the structure of monadic submonoids of Int(R).
This study was planned to develop an Internet Game Addiction Scale for 9- to 12-year-old Korean children. Based on literature review and analysis of counseling cases, the concept of the internet game addiction was defined. Items of the scale were developed and then the content validity of the scale was examined by 20 professionals. Then a preliminary survey of 188 3rd to 6th grade students was made, and the main survey of 699 3rd to 6th grade students throughout Korea. The main results are as follows; [I] Internet Game Addiction Scale consists of 3 factors with 20 items : game-oriented life(6 items), tolerance & mastery loss(7 items), and withdrawal & emotional experience(7 items); [II] appropriateness of item mean and standard deviation was proved, a 3-factor structure confirmed through factorial analysis and cross validation; [III] appropriateness of the scale confirmed through criterion validity and reliability.
Under the assumption that the three-level factors are quantitative, the linear effects are taken more attention than the quadratic effects of the interaction terms. Webb (1971) presented some small incomplete factorial designs that are mixed two- and three-level designs with 20 or fewer runs. The designs provided the estimating linear-by-linear components of interactions between the three-level factors; moreover, they could also offer estimation of interactions that interest the experiments. Webb used ad hoc methods to find these plans; hence, there was still no unified structure to those experiments. In this paper, we develop the methods to construct the $2^{n}3^3$ and $2^{1}3^3$ designs. The designs constructed by these methods not only supply orthogonal estimates of all the main effects but also permit estimation of all the two-factor interactions not involving the quadratic effects. Furthermore, the designs we find are nearly orthogonal.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the factorial structure of the criteria on clothing selection of the working women, and then to provide the date to develop an instrument to measure the criteria on clothing selection. A total of 877 samples were selected from unmarried female in the twenties. Data were analyzed using factor analysis, Pearson's product-mement correlation coefficients, content analysis and Cronbach's α. The results of the study were as follows; 1. There were identified 7 factors as the clothing selection criteria of the working women; Fashion, Practicality, Modesty, Appearance, Service, Comfort, and Impulse purchase. 2. Comparing with the previous results, we confirmed that the criteria on clothing selection was made up of at least 8 factors; Practicality, Comfort, Brand or price, Impulse purchase, Fashion, Individuality, Modesty, and Service. 3. According to the correlation among 8 factors, they formed two clusters; one cluster contained Practicality, Comfort, and Modesty factor, and the other did Brand or price, Impulse purchase, Fashion and Individuality factor. 4. Service factor was significantly correlated to the other factors, that is, service was the very important criteria on the clothing selection.
Several methodologies analyzing welding distortions of large shell structures like ship blocks have been developed and utilized in shipyards for a long times ago. In general, one of objects of thermal distortion analysis is to find welding sequence making least-deformation without any suppliance, and it can be solved easily and rapidly by EP strain-boundary method. But after assembly construction, there are usually more than 10 weldments in each process, and the number of sequence will follow the Factorial calculation. In this research, a method has been suggested to decide the best welding sequence by minimum analysis. Using this method, welding deformation could be reduced just analyzing some cases as many as the number of weldments. Experiments and Analysis of all cases were also done, and their best results are good agreements with predictation by suggested methodology.
This paper describes the structural design of small wind turbine blade by using design of experiments. Blade structure consists of skin, spar and foam. The materials for skin and spar are a kind of Glass/Epoxy and form is polyurethane. It has 7 lay-ups with different ply angle. A factorial design is applied to design the ply angles considering manufacturing constraints and to investigate the safety factor which is calculated by structural analysis. In order to perform the structural analysis, the commercial software ABAQUS is used. Tsai-Wu failure criterion is chosen to compute safety factor. The determination of the significance of effects in the experiments is made through the analysis of variance. The results show that ply angle at skin affects the safety factor of wind turbine blade. And from this result, optimal ply angles of composite blade are achieved.
Ignoring interaction effects has been pointed out to be one of serious drawbacks in analysis of the parameter designs which are constructed by using orthogonal arrays. In this paper a detecting procedure of influential 2-factor inteactions with minimum expeimental runs is described, when each contrl factor has two levels. The presented method is based on the near orthogonal arrays which are very similar to orthogonal arrays in the statistical structure. And those arrarys are the same as trace-optimal balanced saturated two-level fractional factorial designs of resolution V.
Objectives : The Illness Intrusiveness Rating Scale (IIRS) is a well-validated self-report instrument for assessing negative impact of chronic illness and/or adverse effects of its treatment on everyday life domains. Although extensive literature probed its psychometric properties in medical illness, little attention was paid for its validity for psychiatric population. This study aimed to test factorial structure of the Korean Version of the IIRS (IIRS-K) in a consecutive sample of psychiatric outpatients. Methods : Data set of 307 first-visit patients of psychiatric clinic at Guri Hanyang univ. Hospital were used. Exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, internal consistency were tested in IIRS-K. We also checked Spearman's correlation analysis between IIRS-K, Zung's self-report anxiety scale and Zung's self-report depression scale. Results : 76.9% of the patients were with anxiety disorder and depressive disorder. The principal component factor analysis of the IIRS-K extracted three-factor structure accounted for 63.2% of total variance that was contextually similar to the original English version. This three-factor solution showed the best fit when tested confirmatory factor analysis compared to the original IIRS, two-factor model of IIRS-K suggested from medical outpatients, and one-factor solution. The IIRS-K also showed good internal consistency (Cronbach's α=0.90) and good convergent validity with anxiety and depression scales. Conclusions : The IIRS-K showed the three-factor structure that was similar but not identical to original version. Overall, this study proved factorial validity of the IIRS-K and it can be used for Korean clinical population.
Objective: The first stage in both breeding and programs for the conservation of genetic resources are the identification of genetic diversity in the relevant population. The aim of the present study is to identify genetic diversity of six brown layer pure chicken lines (Rhode Island Red [RIRI, RIRII], Barred Rock [BARI, BARII], Columbian Rock [COL], and line 54 [L-54]) with microsatellite markers. Furthermore, the study aims to employ its findings to discuss the possibilities for the conservation and sustainable use of these lines that have been bred as closed populations for a long time. Methods: In the present study, a total number of 180 samples belonging to RIRI (n = 30), RIRII (n = 30), BARI (n = 30), BARII (n = 30), L-54 (n = 30), and COL (n = 30) lines were genotyped using 22 microsatellite loci. Microsatellite markers are extremely useful tools in the identification of genetic diversity since they are distributed throughout the eukaryotic genome in multitudes, demonstrate co-dominant inheritance and they feature a high rate of polymorphism and repeatability. Results: In this study, we found all loci to be polymorphic and identified the average number of alleles per locus to be in the range between 4.41 (BARI) and 5.45 (RIRI); the observed heterozygosity to be in the range between 0.31 (RIRII) and 0.50 (BARII); and $F_{IS}$ (inbreeding coefficient) values in the range between 0.16 (L-54) and 0.46 (RIRII). The $F_{IS}$ values obtained in this context points out to a deviation from Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium due to heterozygote deficiency in six different populations. The Neighbour-Joining tree, Factorial Correspondence Analysis and STRUCTURE clustering analyzes showed that six brown layer lines were separated according to their genetic origins. Conclusion: The results obtained from the study indicate a medium level of genetic diversity, high level inbreeding in chicken lines and high level genetic differentiation between chicken lines.

The dimensional structure of impression formed of a female figure in specific attire was identified and significant influence of skirt length and suit color on impression formed of figures in suits were researched in the part I of this study. In part ll, the effect of identical elements of apparel design on impression formation of a female figure in dress and pants- blouse were studied. The experimental matirals consisted of two sets of stimuli and 7 point semantic differential response scale developed in part 1. Each set of stimuli was composed of 20 drawings representing female figures in each attire. Three independent variables, which were the length of bottom, color of dress or pants and collar type of blouse, were manipulated in each stimulus. The experiment was arranged by 3 factorial design, and the data were analyzed by 3-way ANOVA and by Multiple Classification Analysis. To summarize, in impression formation of figure in dress, the most dominant design element was identified as bottom length and the second most dominant one was color of dress. In contrast, in perception of figure in pants-blouse, the most important design element was color of pants and secondly important one was bottom length. The collar type of top didn't have critical effect on impression formation of figures in both type of attire.
