  • The purpose of this study is to scientifically examine Kuhl's (2011), originally Johnson and Newport's (1989) critical period graph, from a perspective of auditory perception and linguistic discrimination. This study utilizes two types of experiments (auditory perception and linguistic phoneme discrimination) with five different age groups (5 years, 6-8 years, 9-13 years, 15-17 years, and 20-26 years) of Korean English learners. Auditory perception is examined via ultrasonic sounds that are commonly used in the medical field. In addition, each group is measured in terms of their ability to discriminate minimal pairs in Chinese. Since almost all Korean students already have some amount of English exposure, the researchers selected phonemes in Chinese, an unexposed foreign language for all of the subject groups. The results are almost completely in accordance with Kuhl's critical period graph for auditory perception and linguistic discrimination; a sensitive age is found at 8. The results show that the auditory capability of kindergarten children is significantly better than that of other students, measured by their ability to perceive ultrasonic sounds and to distinguish ten minimal pairs in Chinese. This finding strongly implies that human auditory ability is a key factor for the sensitive period of language acquisition.

  • The scouring process is complex and subject to many factors. Recently, experiments for real-time bridge scour monitoring have been active as means for a more reliable scour prediction. Riverbed materials are an important factor in bridge scouring; therefore, an accurate estimation of riverbed material is critical in predicting a scour. As a part of this approach, an ultrasonic sensor, which can not only detect river bottom during floods but can also be installed lose to the underwater structures, was developed. This sensor is able to map the river bottom using an ultrasonic waves with the characteristics of the returning wave, reflected from an object or bottom ground. The reflected wave is unique according to the situations, or materials below. Therefore, it would be possible to identify the consisting materials of a riverbed if we could reveal each characteristic in the received signals. In this study, a preliminary experiment was performed in the laboratory to identify and classify received signals, which is unique to each material. The analysis of this experiment gives the graph, which makes it possible to identify materials of the river bottom through the ultrasonic signals. The proposed graph was verified through a comparison with the actual field data measured in river.

  • The relationship between applying knowledge management and accepting environmentally managed accounting is more complicated than previous studies suggested. Knowledge management is both an antecedent and a consequence of implementing environmentally managed accounting in the workplace. Nonetheless, none of the prior studies have systematically investigated this relationship. The current article attempted to scrutinize the reciprocated multifaceted tie between environmental managerial accounting and knowledge management by utilizing the methods of directed graph searches as well as directed acyclic graphs. The research data was gathered from 342 publicly-listed corporations in Vietnam's key stock markets. The empirical findings disclose that implementing knowledge management can lead to adopting environmental managerial accounting in business, which is, in turn, an antecedent of accepting knowledge management. More importantly, the current research found that the adoption of knowledge management is the first factor to affect the research model. Nonetheless, the usage of knowledge management in business can, in turn, have a positive effect back to the implementing extent of environmental managerial accounting. The findings are beneficial to scientists and particularly to executives by shedding new insight into this reciprocated bond, which can lead executives to make sound decisions regarding knowledge management and environmental managerial accounting for businesses to acquire competitive advantages.

Recently, ICT-based digital technology has been rapidly applied to the manufacturing industry following the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Under the digital transformation, real-time data interface technology based on SCM (Supply Chain Management) is emerging as an important tool to improve the efficiency of the equipment manufacturing process. In this study, the characteristics and advantages and disadvantages of interface technologies of web-based data interface technologies were compared and analyzed. The performance was compared between theoretical evaluation based on technical features and practical application cases. As a result, it was confirmed that GraphQL is useful for selective data processing, but there is a problem with optimization, and REST API has a problem with receiving data due to a fixed data structure. Therefore, this study aims to suggest ways to utilize and optimize these data interface technologies.

  • In this paper, a test was performed to determine whether words in Anchor Text were appropriate as key words. As a result of the test. there were proper words of high weighting factor, while some others did not even appear in the text. therefore, were not appropriate as key words. In order to resolve this problem. a new method was proposed to extract key words. Using the proposed method, inappropriate key words can be removed so that new key words be set, and then, ranking becomes possible with the TFIDF value as a weighting factor of the key word. It was verified that the new method has higher accuracy compared to the previous methods.

  • In this study, the measurement system was developed for the measurement of pollutants from building materials, and specimens were made with concrete, gypsum board, mortar and wall paper. Characteristics of VOCs and TVOC concentration and Emission Factor as a function of time were assessed, and the conclusion was drawn as follows. (1) From predicting TVOC concentration decrease of specimen 7 with the wall paper attached to the concrete, the graph may become linear by converting the value of y-axis into the log function, and the prediction equation can be expressed as $y=34906{\ast}e^{-0.0093{\ast}time}$. Moreover, chi-square value was 0.83 which is relatively high value, indicating that TVOC concentration can be properly predicted if the same materials are used indoors. (2) From predicting VOCs Emission Factor decrease of specimen 7, the prediction equation can be expressed as $EF=15111{\ast}e^{-0.0093{\ast}time}$, and chi-square value was 0.83. (3) From predicting TVOC concentration decrease of specimen 7, prediction equation can be considered to be $y=254323{\ast}(1-e^{-0.1046{\ast}time})$, and chi-square was 0.994 which is significantly high value, indicating that indoor TVOC concentration can be properly predicted if the same materials are used indoors. Furthermore, the prediction of concentration decrease using cumulative value of hourly measured concentration is considered to be more accurate than that using just hourly measured value directly. (4) From predicting Emission Factor decrease with cumulative hourly data of Emission Factor, chi-square appeared to be higher than that by just using hourly data of Emission Factor directly. Therefore, the prediction of Emission Factor with cumulative hourly data can provide more reliable prediction equation than the case by using just hourly concentration directly.
