This study is about the present condition of facilities for the disabled at elementary schools in Ulsan and improvement plan of facilities for the disabled. The important thing of tasks of societies and nations is rights to education for the disabled. If an education is natural rights that give people identification, Societies and nations do their best to adapting anyone no matter who has any circumstance to civilization. The more people are poor, the more Societies and nations support and give them chance to education. Among people who really need the chance to education, there was the disabled. Therefore, societies and nations support them carefully more than any others. Above all things, considering the fact that separation to integration of a education for the disabled, facilities for the disabled that can base on an integrated education must be improved as soon as possible. An integrated education contribute to growing sociality and security of human rights for the disabled. It is natural that basic facilities are necessary for the disabled. A systematic program development that make ordinary students look fairly disabled students is really demanded for that ordinary students give disabled students love and help.

The disabled has remarkable difficulties to participate social activities and those, that block them up from access to public facilities and the comfortable habitation so they should get help from others, are mainly made by architectural facts. Buildings without impediment which consider the disabled would be the things responding to the needs of the times. If the disabled would be convenient to use facilities, there should be no difficulties to normal people. A first began to examine into the role of the architecture. And to establish radical standards for the disabled to use cultural and assembly facilities through scrutinizing facilities to get access for the disabled and movement circulations in the cultural facilities should be the conclusion. This study which is a kind of fundamental study to construct cultural facilities without obstacles for the disabled began from consideration for the problem flow line of the disabled in cultural facilities and analyzed flow lines for them to use, access, and evacuate from those which are main facilities in the region. Though, evacuation rules in cultural and assembly facilities are recommendatory in existing laws for convenience of the disabled, the congestion of the crowd coming out after performances impedes safe flows of both the disabled and crowds. Further, in case of evacuation, there would be more serious problems. Therefore, consideration of reinforcement for existing laws for convenience of the disabled is needed.

The purpose of this study is to analysis of convenience facilities for disabled in the municipal buildings. The physically disabled based on comparative analysis of disabilities code in Korea. For this objective, the code and guideline were analysed, and based on the analysis the checklist was developed for field observation. Convenience facilities ought to consider various aspects like size, and spatial composition of facilities, safety factors. and the present conveniences facility regulation. The research was conducted for municipal buildings located in Jeonbuk province. The procedures for research was made to investigate the finding of architectural related code and faculty standards. The results of investigation should be complemented and clarified guidelines in terms of accessibility and convenience which in detail. If the disabled would be convenient to use municipal buildings facilities, there should be no difficulties. As a result, convenience facilities for disabled in the municipal buildings has been improved that the design concept for the disabled person in general architectural planning.

이 연구는 장애인의 정보격차를 해소하기 위해 비장애인과 동등하게 시설을 이용할 수 있도록 계획수립의 기초자료를 제공하기 위해 시도되었다. 이를 위해 장애인시설 관련법규와 선행연구를 살펴보고, 공공도서관의 시설을 고유영역, 편의시설영역, 동선체계로 구분하여 각각의 기준을 제안하였다. 이를 바탕으로 대구광역시 공공도서관 중 장애인실을 설치하고 있는 5곳을 대상으로 장애인을 위한 공간구성의 현황을 분석하였다. 그 결과 장애인 관련공간의 배치가 미흡할 뿐 아니라 전반적인 편의시설 등이 부족하다는 사실을 확인할 수 있었다.

The objective of this study is to investigate the difference between the standard 'design guideline' in barrier free laws for the disabled and the disabled's real experience in public convenient facilities. It is mainly focused on accessibility by the disabled people who use an electric motion wheel chair, a wheel chair and crutches as well as a visual impaired person in the public resident centers. For this purpose, four resident centers in Busan have been selected as the objects of investigation. We observed and video recorded the disabled people with various handicaps to access and use facilities in four resident centers, and interviewed them afterwards. We found out problems from the perspective of the disabled and figured out the difference between barrier free laws and the disabled's real experience. The research result is as follows. First, it is important to make the arrangement of public convenient facilities according to the flow of the user's movements. Second, it is necessary to provide better conditions for the disabled to access the public toilet easily and conveniently. Third, it is essential for public convenient facilities to be more strictly controlled by regulations. Fourth, we need to make better standards that could reflect real experiences of various disabled users. Fifth, we need to keep providing the best follow-up service for the disabled in terms of using public convenient facilities safely. This study can contribute for designers to understand specific users through their experiences and suggest improvement ideas for better public convenient Facilities.

This study proposed an effective improvement direction for the education and welfare supporting facilities and equipment sectors to guarantee the right of disabled students to study in university. To derive high-demand items, the value engineering quality model technique was conducted on the students who majoring in architecture and the disabled students. The high-demand items for the education and welfare supporting facilities and equipment was detailed by interviews with the disabled students. Especially, anti-skid floor material, spacious access space for electric wheelchair, efficient operation system for elevator and cafeteria waiting time are strongly demanded for the disabled students. Based on this research, universities can make efficient investments and improvements in the education and welfare supporting facilities and equipment sectors for disabled students.

Demands for sports activities for the disabled are continuously increasing. Although sports centers where the disabled available are compartmentalized into the disabled sports centers and the public sports facilities, in fact, sports activities for the disabled in the public facilities had limits. Therefore, this study draw current states, features and issue related spaces and programs of the public sports centers in order to seek ways to activate sports activities for the disabled. The results of the study as follows. Firstly, setting up the legal regulation about the disabled sports centers. Secondly, improvement the facilities considered the disabled's characteristic. Thirdly, installation of a shower stall and a locker room for various users. Fourthly, positive application of the outdoor space connected with a swimming pool. Fifthly, laying detailed regulation of sports centers for the disabled. In conclusion, the study on architectural model which related with spaces and programs of the sports center for all people is needed to move forward.

The rehabilitation facilities for disabled people keeps going to grow with social changes that disabled people are dramatically increasing. This paper try to provide basic concept of the architectural planning for the disabled rehabilitation facilities. To accomplish this purpose this study has analyzed the behavior pattern of user with disabilities. This study has introduced the problem of using space in the rehabilitation and welfare facilities for the disabled and the architectural concept for resolve it. The architectural planning concept appears by barrier-free accessibility, safety for mobility and use, amenity integrated the spatial cognition and flexible structural system.

The progress of industrialization in Korea has led to increase social participation by females and also a transition toward a nuclear family based system. As a result of it, Korea is nowadays confronted with the issue of childcare, which is emerging as a social problem. In Japan, both combined nurturing facilities and the exclusively dedicated facilities for disabled children are institutionally maintained on a consistent basis. In addition, the enactment of the Children Welfare Act has subsequently given birth to the establishment of the 'Minimum Standard Requirements for Children's Welfare Facilities'. With such act and standards in place, much attention is now paid to a physical improvement of disabled children nurturing facilities, too. In order to make the requirements for such facilities more complete and substantial, local governments have enacted their own ordinances on the basis of the major policies regarding the universal designs for the disabled, such as the Heart Building Act. As Japan has a cultural background similar to that of Korea and is equipped with the nurturing facilities systemized in accordance with the symptom and degree of disabilities, it is believed that a study on the current standards for disabled children in Japan will help to provide our domestic standards applicable to such facilities.

현대사회는 선천적 장애인은 물론 교통사고 산업재해와 같은 다양한 요인에 의한 후천적 장애인이 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 또한, 경제성장과 세계화에 의해 장애인의 공항이용률도 매년 증가하고 있는 추세이다. 때문에 공항을 이동하는 장애인을 위한 편의시설의 질적 양적인 확충이 더욱 요구되어 지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 공공시설물인 공항의 장애인편의시설에 대한 현황조사와 사용 실태조사 및 만족도 조사를 통해 전국공항의 장애인을 위한 시설개선과 공항이용자들의 만족도를 향상시키기 위한 방안을 모색하고자 한다.
