  • As the global smartphones market is growing at a brisk pace, their associated mobile applications are becoming increasingly ubiquitous in our daily life. The growth of mobile application business is explosive. Like other digital contents businesses, illegal downloads of copyrighted mobile applications become major obstacle in the future of the industry. In spite of anti-piracy efforts, the phenomenon has been getting worse. It is necessary to change the focus of current deterrence policies and strategies. This study investigates the factors influencing smartphone applications piracy behavior. For better understanding of illegal behavior, a research model of potential determinants for the piracy behavior is developed and empirically tested via path analysis using structural equation modeling. Findings show that social factors, beliefs concerning benefits from piracy, self-efficacy, and habit have significant effects on attitude toward smartphone application piracy. The result also shows perceived risks and facilitating conditions were not significantly related to their attitude. Implications for research and practice are discussed.

  • As the dependence on information systems in enterprises has grown dramatically, the importance of implementing information systems in audit has been increased as well. However, there is a lact of about utilization of information system for audit process. Thus, this study is to investigate the factors that effect auditor's adopting Data Analytics to audit work. Through literature research and focus group interview, we added two factors that affect the behavioral intention to UTAUT model. We have selected performance expectancy, effort expectancy, social influence, facilitating conditions, anxiety, task fit, behavioral intention as variables and verified hypotheses based on survey questionnaires from auditors. As a result, it was found that performance expectations, social influence, task fit influenced the behavior intention. In Addition, we analyzed adding two variables, IT-related work experience and type of auditor as moderate variable. This study has an implication for companies to motivate implementation as well as activation of Data Analytics technique.

  • With increase in oil demand owing to economic growth in Northeast Asia, the establishment of an oil hub in Korea is recently considered by policy and academic circles. This paper aims to suggest strategic schemes on the establishment of Korea's oil hub in Northeast Asia by comparing Korea's conditions as an oil logistics hub with Singapore which has been an oil hub in East Asia until recent year. Quantitative and qualitative analysis methods were employed in order to examine the competitiveness of Korea's oil hub. This research concludes that Korea is very competitive as an oil logistics hub in Northeast Asia, but so much improvements for realizing the project are necessary such as expansion of storage facilities for oil, institutional instruments for facilitating oil logistics and trading and preparation for incentive schemes on foreign investments in oil and its related industries.

  • We propose a patterning method of liquid crystal (LC) alignment layer for producing multi-domain LC structures. By controlling thermal conditions during micro-contact printing procedures and facilitating wetting properties of patterning materials, patterned LC orientation can be easily obtained on a bare ITO surface or other polymer films. The newly proposed patterning method is expected to be a very useful tool for fabricating multi-domain LC structures to enhance or design electro-optic properties of LC-based devices.

  • This paper was undertaken to analyze the morphology of wear debris generating from moving lubricated machine surfaces by image processing. The lubricating wear test was carried out under different experimentaal conditions using the wear test device was made in our laboritory and wear testing specimen of the pin on disk type wear rubbed in paraffine series base oil, byvarying applied load, sliding distance. The four parameters(50% volumetric diameter, aspect, roundness and reflectivity) to describe the morphology have been developed and are outlined in the paper. A system using such techniques promises to obviate the need for subjective, human interpretation of particle morphology in machine condition monitoring, thus overcoming many of the difficulties with current methods and facilitating wider use of wear particle analysis in machine condition monitoring.

  • Inflammation is one mechanism through which cancer is initiated and progresses, and is implicated in the etiology of other conditions that affect cancer risk and prognosis, such as type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and visceral obesity. Emerging human evidence, primarily epidemiological, suggests that walnuts impact risk of these chronic diseases via inflammation. The published literature documents associations between walnut consumption and reduced risk of cancer, and mortality from cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, particularly within the context of the Mediterranean Diet. While encouraging, follow-up in human intervention trials is needed to better elucidate any potential cancer prevention effect of walnuts, per se. In humans, the far-reaching positive effects of a plant-based diet that includes walnuts may be the most critical message for the public. Indeed, appropriate translation of nutrition research is essential for facilitating healthful consumer dietary behavior. This paper will explore the translation and application of human evidence regarding connections with cancer and biomarkers of inflammation to the development of dietary guidance for the public and individualized dietary advice. Strategies for encouraging dietary patterns that may reduce cancer risk will be explored.

  • Requirement of facilitating electronic trade transactions and efforts to platform on the electronic trade in major countries are link to the interest of Bill of Lading, the major transportation document, to be electronic, namely interest in Electronic Bill of Lading. Regardless of the benefits from replacing paper based Bill of Lading to the electronic form, which are eliminating of the Crisis of Bill of Lading and cost saving of international trade community, it has not been successful so far. Among the three functions of Bill of Lading, evidence of contracts and receipt of goods can be easily transferable to the electronic form. However the most important function, Document of Title, became the hardest work to replicate in electronic form. The purpose of this paper is to clarify what kind of conditions shall be prepared to ensure the transfer of right and negotiability of the Electronic Bill of Lading and propose to ensure the use of electronic bill of lading and its transfer of right and negotiability in the era of the electronic transactions.

  • The self-centering prestressed concrete (SCPC) bridge pier with external dissipators is a novel structure, aiming at reducing residual deformation and facilitating the post-earthquake repair. This paper presents the configuration and mechanical behaviors of the pier. A theoretical model for the lateral force-displacement relationship under cyclic loading is developed. The proposed model comprises an iterative procedure which describes the deformation of dissipators under different conditions. Equations of pier stiffness after gap opening, as well as the equivalent viscous damping ratio, etc., are derived based on the proposed model. Existing cyclic load test results were used to validate the proposed model, and good agreement is observed between the analytical and test results.

  • The effects of Cu-addition and die-upset temperature on the texture in the die-upset Nd-lean $Nd_xFe_{93.5-(x+y)}-Cu_yGa_{0.5}B_6$ (x = 9-12, y = 0-2) alloys were investigated. The die-upset Cu-containing Nd-lean $Nd_{12}Fe_{81.5-y}-Cu_yGa_{0.5}B_6$ (y = 1, 2) alloys showed a considerable texture. Texture in the Nd-lean alloys developed through basal plane slip deformation. The Cu-addition reduced the melting point of grain boundary phase facilitating grain gliding during the die-upsetting, and providing a greater chance for the $Nd_2Fe_{14}B$ grains to meet the deformation conditions. Die-upsetting at higher temperature facilitated grain gliding and plastic deformation, thus enhancing texture.
