The dyeing powder drawn out from Dryopteris crassirhizoma by water was concentrated. Using this powder, the silk and the cotton fabrics were dyed and they measured with the K/S value, surface color, mordant quantity in order to evaluate the dyeability, antimicrobial and deodorant properties. The colorant of Dryopteris crassirhizoma was proved flavonoids by FT-IR spectrum. The K/S values of silk were much higher than those of cotton, the color yield of the silk and cotton fabric were most efficient the postmordanting method. The surface colors on the dyed fabric depended heavily upon mordants used or mordanting methods. For all cases, the value of the dyed fabric was generally dark. The chroma produced clear for the Al-mordant of silk and the Cu-mordant of cotton in the 3% concentration of mordants, the color difference was distinct when using the Fe-mordant. The K/S values of cationized cotton were much higher than cotton. The color fastness was significantly improved when mordants were added, In the case of the light fastness, Fe and Cu-mordants improved more than 1 level. The Cu-mordant showed the greatest antimicrobial and deordarant activity on both of the silk and the cotton.

This research was carried out to find the dyeing properties of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi on the rayon and cotton fabrics. The best proper dyeing conditions were examined by changing dye concentrations, dyeing temperature, dyeing time, and dyeing repitition. Also dyeability and surface color changes were evaluated by various mordanting methods and agents. The maximum absorption of Scutellaria baicalensis Georgi were at 275nm and 362nm. The optimum dyeing conditions on the cotton were 80%, $80^{\circ}C$, 40minutes, 4 repitition, and those on the rayon were 80%, $80^{\circ}C$, 60minutes, 5 repitition. The K/S values of rayon and cotton fabrics were higher in pre-mordant than post-mordant. The K/S values on the rayons were lower than no mordant fabric except pre-Fe mordant, these on the cotton fabrics were higher than no mordant fabric except post-Al mordant. The value of ${\Delta}E$ was the highest in Fe mordanted fabrics, and higher on the cotton fabric than rayon. The surface colors of all mordanted fabrics were yellow.
The purpose of this research was to analyze how the evaluation method affects the subjective hand evaluation of fabrics and to suggest the efficient evaluation method. Three methods such as the sense of sight & touch, the sense of touch, and the sense of sight were respectively used when judges estimated the hand of fabrics using questionnaire. The result obtained by the method of touch was same as that by the method of sight & touch. The time required for the evaluation by these two methods was statistically same. Consequently, the method of touch has no attraction compared to that of touch & sight. In case of using the method of sight, 8 properties among 10 showed the same results as in the method of sight & touch. The properties of [moogupda/kabyupda] and [shinchuksung-e-itda/ shinchuksung-e-upda] evaluated with the sense of sight were different from the results obtained by the other methods. These properties seem to be difficult to evaluate only by seeing the fabric on the table. For the precise evaluation, it is necessary to show dynamic movement of the fabric. The time required for the evaluation by the sense of sight was shorter than that by the other two methods.
Dyeing fabric weaved with two or more kinds of fiber in different section has various dyeing interactions caused by different material properties of them. Newly developed knit fabric was used in this study. It composited by two different blocks, each block is included PET fiber and CDP fiber separately. Build-up properties with cation dyes and disperse dyes were good having average 83% of dyeing exhaustion yield on 5% o.w.f. dye concentration. As depending on dyeing methods, there were not showed direct interaction between cation dyes and disperse dyes. This result could be considered their different dyeing mechanism. Compatibility was best in S-type disperse dyes investigated their critical absorption range as $120^{\circ}C{\sim}130^{\circ}C$. Wash fastness was generally good in most dye.
In this article, effect of the dyeing and mechanical properties were investigated on the polyester ultramicro fiber(UMF) and knitted fabric varying fiber fineness(0.01d and 0.05d). By a treatment with NaOH solution, sea-ingredient was removed and polyester micro-fiber was revealed. The dyeing, build-up and fastness properties of the fiber and fabrics were observed. We used C.I. Disperse Red 60 and Blue 56 for dyeing property and eight Lumacron dyes for build-up property and colorfastness. At low temperature dyeing($100^{\circ}C$), the dyeing rate of 0.01d-polyester UME increased more than that of 0.05d-polyester UMF with Disperse Red 60 and Blue 56 whereas dyeing rate of 0.05d-polyester UMF were increased more than that of 0.01d-polyester UMF at high temperature($120^{\circ}C$), The colorfastnesses of the 0.05d-fiber knitted fabric such as washing, rubbing and light was higher than those of the 0.01d-fiber knitted fabric.

Research information related to application of enzyme as pretreatment and subsequent functional finishing on wool blended textiles for imparting multi-functional properties is still scanty. Yarn-blended wool/cotton fabric was pretreated with both a cellulase (Bactosol-CA) or a protease (Savinase-16.0LEx) in individual, subsequently finished with Synthappret-BAP and ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin based combination to impart anti-shrink, anti-microbial, softening and anti-crease properties. The performance of the finished fabrics depended on type of finishing combinations applied rather than enzyme pretreatment. Savinase pretreatment followed by Synthappret+Ceraperm-MW combination finishing impart both anti-shrink property as well as softening, while Bactosol pretreatment followed by ${\beta}$-cyclodextrin and sanitize combination finishing impart antimicrobial activity as well as anti-shrink finish to the wool/cotton blend fabric.

High-bulk worsted yams with different shrinkable and non-shrinkable acrylic fibers blend ratios are produced and then single jersey weft knitted fabrics with three different structures and loop lengths are constructed. The physical properties of produced yams and compression properties of produced fabrics at eight pressure values (50, 100, 200, 500, 1000, 1500 and $2000 g/cm^2$) were measured using a conventional fabric thickness tester. Then, weft-knitted fabric compression behavior was analyzed using a two parameters model. It is found that at 40 % shrinkable fibre blending ratio the maximum yam bulk, shrinkage, abrasion resistance and minimum yarn strength are obtained. It is also shown that high-bulk acrylic yarn has the highest elongation at 20 % shrinkable fibre blend ratio. The statistical regression analysis revealed that the compression behavior of acrylic weft-knitted fabrics is highly closed to two parameter model proposed for woven fabrics. It is also shown that for weft-knitted structure, there is an incompressible layer (V') which resists against high compression load. Acrylic weft-knitted fabrics with knit-tuck structure exhibit higher compression rigidity and lower softness than the plain and knit-miss structures. In addition, at 20 % shrinkable fibre blend ratio, the high-bulk acrylic weft-knitted fabrics are highly compressible.
Using conventional textile techniques such as weaving braiding knitting and stitching it is possible to produce a wide range two and three dimensional fiber preforms, however so far only a limited attention has been given to knitted fabrics in composite industry. This is mainly due to the opinion that knitted fabric reinforced composites posses low mechanical properties owing to their looped fiber architecture. But it is possible to obtain desired mechanical properties by selecting proper knitted fabric structure, In this paper mechanical characteristics of kevlar plain weft knitted fabrics reinforced plastics(KFRP) are evaluated for th development of intrusion beam of car side door. Tensile bending impact properties of KFRP are measured experimentally and crush demands of Americal Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No.214(FMVSS 214) compared with the bending load and displacement of KFRP by quasi-static test method. The applicability and limitation of bending load and displacement of KFRP according to specimen size has been discussed.
