국내외 산업용 및 교육용 FMS 현황과 발전방향 (The Current Status and Future Prospect for the Industrial and Educational FMS)

  • 생산현장에서 경쟁력 저하를 일으키는 다양한 문제점을 해결하고자 하는 노력으로서 1960년대 말에 FMS가 등장하게 되었다. 국내에서는 1990년대부터 절삭가공용 위주로 보급이 활성화되고 있으며, 국내 기업에 의하여 많은 기술개발이 이루어지고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 FMS에 대한 도입 배경, FMS 구성, 산업용 및 교육용 FMS, FMS 보급현황, FMS의 핵심기술 및 개발방향에 대하여 소개하고자 한다.

  • This paper describes the instructional flexible manufacturing system(FMS) laboratory facility at Virginia Polytechnic Institute(VPI) which is directed at problems and issues in the design, implementation and control of computer integrated manufacturing systems. It begins with a configuration and an operational description of FMS laboratory facilities. Next, relevant curricula in manufacturing systems design and control, which can use the FMS laboratory for instructional purpose, are introduced, A computer simulation can be used as an excellent tool for analysis prior to implementation of FMS as well as an on-going improvement tool. A brief survey of simulation languages is lastly included.

  • This paper describes two FMS, which were developed by SAEIL Heavy Industries. One is FMS for machining of circular parts, that are automobile's axle shafts. This system consists of 13units, including 7CNC machine tools. The other is RMS for machining of non- circular parts namely casted or steel block within size of 1.2${\times}$1.2${\times}$1.5m. This FMS consists of 8-machining centers, 1-automated werehouse, 2,-unmanned Robo Trailers, and computer control room. All systems are functioning satisfactorily and so help greately towards automation of Korean industries.

  • A FMS is a typical discrete event system exhibiting concurrency, asynchronicity and non-determinism. To represent a FMS with those characteristics, Colored and Timed Petri Nets is defined and the modeling procedure is provided in this paper. To analyze and evaluate the performance of a FMS, a simulation software is developed and applied to SNU FMS/CM Center. This software enables to detect the bottleneck machine and decide the optimal direction in case of the expansion of a FMS.

12주간의 복합트레이닝이 국가대표 여자럭비선수들의 FMS(Functional Movement Screen) 점수에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Combined Training on the FMS Score in Woman Rugby National Players)

  • 이 연구는 FMS를 통하여 선수들의 상해에 대한 위험요인 등을 찾아내고 이를 복합트레이닝프로그램에 적용하여 선수들의 신체 불균형 및 기초체력, 근 기능을 개선함으로써 FMS 점수에 어떠한 영향을 미치는지를 규명하고 국가대표 여자 럭비선수들의 경기력을 향상시키고자 실시되었다. 제17회 인천아시안게임에 참가를 준비하는 국가대표 여자럭비선수 14명을 대상으로 하여 FMS 검사를 실시하였으며, 2014년 5월~8월까지 12주간 복합트레이닝프로그램을 실시하여(주4회/120분${\geq}$) 복합트레이닝 전 후의 FMS 점수를 paired t-test를 통해 검증하였다. 이 연구의 결과에서 Deep Squat와 Hurdle Step, Active Straight Leg Raise, Trunk Stability Push up의 항목에서는 12주간의 복합트레이닝 전보다 트레이닝 후에 FMS의 점수가 유의하게 증가되었으며(p<.05), Inline Lunge(p<.01)와 Rotary Stability(p<.001)에서도 트레이닝 후, 유의하게 증가된 것으로 나타났다. 또한 전체 항목의 점수 합산도 복합트레이닝 후에 유의하게 증가되었다(p<.001). 그러나 Shoulder Mobility 항목에서 유일하게 트레이닝 후에 약간 증가하는 경향을 보였지만 통계적 유의수준에는 도달하지 못하였다. 이상의 결과에서 복합트레이닝프로그램이 FMS 점수를 유의하게 증가시키는 효과가 있는 것으로 나타났으며 이는 국가대표 여자럭비선수들의 상해 위험성이 줄이는데 효과가 있음을 의미한다. 또한 주기적인 FMS의 평가는 선수들의 상해예방과 경기력 향상에 도움일 될 것으로 사료된다.

  • A recent trend in flexible manufacturing systems(FMS) is to compose of the identical versatile-machines and to use dynamic tool allocation strategy, sharing tools between machines with fast tool delivery system. Unlike a conventional FMS where parts are fed to the machines with the required tools, tools are acquired from other machines using a tool delivery system and parts can be finished on the same machine in these FMS. Therefore it is more important problem to plan tool flow using tool delivery system in these FMS rather than part flow in conventional FMS. According to existing study, in FMS 20~30 percent of the total management cost is the cost related with tools and it is possible to reduce the tool inventory by 40 percent using efficient tool allocation. In this study, in FMS under dynamic tool allocation strategy, a new method of part release considering tool flow at the stage of part release is proposed. In order to prove the efficiency of the proposed part release it is compared with other part release through simulation experiments. Performance measures in these experiments are the throughput and the number of tardy parts.

FMS 스케쥴링을 위한 Priority 함수의 자동 생성에 관한 연구

  • Most of the past studies on FMS scheduling problems may be classified into two classes, namely off-line scheduling and on-line scheduling approach. The off-line scheduling methods are used mostly for FMS planning purposes and may not be useful real time control of FMSs, because it generates solutions only after a relatively long period of time. The on-line scheduling methods are used extensively for dynamic real-time control of FMSs although the performance of on-line scheduling algorithms tends vary dramatically depending on various configurations of FMS. Current study is about finding a better on-line scheduling rules for FMS operations. In this study, we propose a method to create priority functions that can be used in setting relative priorities among jobs or machines in on-line scheduling. The priority functions reflect the configuration of FMS and the user-defined objective functions. The priority functions are generated from diverse dispatching rules which may be considered a special priority functions by themselves, and used to determine the order of processing and transporting parts. Overall system of our work consists of two modules, the Priority Function Evolution Module (PFEM) and the FMS Simulation Module (FMSSM). The PFEM generates new priority functions using input variables from a terminal set and primitive functions from a function set by genetic programming. And the FMSSM evaluates each priority function by a simulation methodology. Based on these evaluated values, the PFEM creates new priority functions by using crossover, mutation operation and probabilistic selection. These processes are iteratively applied until the termination criteria are satisfied. We considered various configurations and objective functions of FMSs in our study, and we seek a workable solution rather than an optimum or near optimum solution in scheduling FMS operations in real time. To verify the viability of our approach, experimental results of our model on real FMS are included.

FACTOR/AIM을 이용한 통합자동 생산시스템의 성능분석을 위한 비교연구 (A Comparative Study of FMS Performance Evaluation Modeling Using FACTOR/AIM)

  • A variety of approaches on performance evaluation modeling have appeared in the technical literature for flexible manufacturing systems(FMS) which can be evaluated only through computer simulation. This study represents a comparative approach for FMS performance evaluation modeling based on reliability, availability and maintainability, and life cycle cost. The methodology proposed in this research includes the following three-step generative approaches. First, a static model to find the initial system configuration is considered under the assumption that the system availability is given as one (failure and maintenance are not considered), and in second step, a stochastic simulation is proposed to serve as a performance evaluation model for FMS with stochastic failure and repair time. In the last step, we developed a simulation modeling using a simulator, FACTOR/AIM to consider a variety of performance factors and dynamic behavior of FMS. Also the applicability and validity of the proposed approaches has been tested and compared through the results of a sample problem using computer programs and procedures developed in each step.
