Numerical study on effect of integrity reinforcement on punching shear of flat plate

  • Reinforced concrete flat plates consist of slabs supported directly on columns. The absence of beams makes these systems attractive due to advantages such as economical formwork, shorter construction time, less total building height with more clear space and architectural flexibility. Punching shear failure is usually the governing failure mode of flat plate structures. Punching failure is brittle in nature which induces more vulnerability to this type of structure. To analyze the flat plate behavior under punching shear, twelve finite element models of flat plate on a column with different parameters have been developed and verified with experimental results. The maximum range of variation of punching stress, obtained numerically, is within 10% of the experimental results. Additional finite element models have been developed to analyze the influence of integrity reinforcement, clear cover and column reinforcement. Variation of clear cover influences the punching capacity of flat plate. Proposed finite element model can be a substitute to mechanical model to understand the influence of clear cover. Variation of slab thickness along with column reinforcement has noteworthy impact on punching capacity. From the study it has been noted that integrity reinforcement can increase the punching capacity as much as 19 percent in terms of force and 101 percent in terms of deformation.

조간대 갯벌지형 영상 관측 고찰 (Study on Intertidal Flat Topography Observation Using Camera Images)

  • 밀물시 조간대 갯벌에서 이동하는 수륙 경계선은 간조와 만조 정선사이에서의 등고선을 나타낸다. 이를 연속 촬영한 영상에서 수륙 경계선을 추출하여 기하보정을 하면 각 등고선에 대한 실제 공간 좌표를 획득할 수 있으며 이를 모두 통합함으로서 조간대 지형에 대한 3차원 지형 정보를 얻는다. 새만금 1호 방조제 외측 갯벌은 방조제 건설이후 방조제 외측에서 가장 뚜렷한 갯벌 지형 변화를 보이는 곳이다. 이 지역의 갯벌 지형에 대하여 디지털 카메라를 이용한 영상 관측을 수행하여 지형을 관측하였으며, 이를 현장 관측한 자료와 비교한 결과 유사한 높이를 나타내었다. 또한 다른 시기에 영상 관측된 지형 자료로부터 그 변화를 검토하였다.

테니스 플랫 서브 동작의 운동학적 분석 (The Kinematic Analysis of the Tennis Flat Serve Motion)

By the comparison and the analysis of the different factors during the tennis flat serve motion such as the required time per section, the movement displacement of the racket, the velocity of the upper limbs joints, the physical center of gravity, and the angle and the angular velocity of the upper limbs joints between an ace player and a mediocre player, these following results were drawn. First, the experiment result of the total time required per section in a tennis flat serve motion showed that an ace player was faster than a mediocre player by 0.4 seconds. This result suggested that it was required to increase the speed of the racket head by a swift swing to perform an effective flat serve motion. Second, the experiment result of the movement displacement of the racket in the tennis flat serve motion showed that an ace player greatly moved toward the left side on an x-axis. But both an ace and a mediocre player were shown to be at the similar points on a y-axis at the moment of the impact of the racket. An ace player was also shown to be located at a higher position on a z-axis by 0.23m. Third, the velocity of the center of gravity of an ace player was faster in every phase than that of a mediocre player in a tennis flat serve motion. Fourth, the velocity of the upper limb joints of an ace player was faster in every phase than that of a mediocre player in a tennis flat serve motion. Fifth, the experiment result of the speed of the racket head in tennis flat serve motion showed that a mediocre player was faster than an ace player in the first phase, but the latter was faster than the former in the second, third, and the fourth phases. Sixth, at the moment of impact of a tennis flat serve, an ace player had greater flexion of the angle of the wrist joints by an 11.8 degree than a mediocre player. An ace player also had greater extension of the angle of the elbow joint and the shoulder joint respectively by a 5.2 degree and a 1.4 degree with a mediocre player. Seventh, an ace player had greater angular velocity of the upper limb joints and the hip joints than a mediocre player at the moment of the impact of tennis flat serve. Eighth, an ace player was shown to have a greater change of the forward and the backward inclination (or the anterior and posterior inclination) of the upper body

바지락 치패의 폐사에 관한 연구-I 간척지의 간출시에 있어서의 온도, 염분변화와 유입하천수의 지하염분에 미치는 영향 (Studies on the Natural Mortality of the Young Short Necked Clam, Tapes japonica-I.   • Frequently , large masses of the young short necked clam, Tapes japonica , die at their tidal flats in summer and this phenomenon has not been explained clearly. The purpose of the present investigation is to study the thermal condition and the chlorinity level of tidal flats in which the young clam appears to be injured. A study is also mad efor the burrowing organism in the lower layer of the esturay over which the fresh water flow during the low tide. Observation are made at five places of the tidal flat near Ikawazu Fixheries Laboratory of Tokyo University during the ebb and flow tide period of the spring tide. The diurnal and monthly changes of tidal temperatures and chlorinities are measured. Results of the study are ; 1. The surface temperature of the tidal flat increases with the ebb tide, reaches the highest between 12-14PM, and gradually decreases thereafter. The temperatures of tidal flat below 5 and 10 cm increase gradually until the flow tide reaches the surface. 2. At the spring tide in summer , the diurnal change of surface of the tidal flat temperature is very extensive ; it reaches 37-39$^{\circ}C$ in August. At the depths of 5 and 10 cm the temperature remains at 33 $^{\circ}C$ and 31$^{\circ}C$ , respectively. 3. The chlorinity of the tidal flat is higher during May through June and lower July through August, and this seems to be related to the amount of rainfall. 4. The chlorinity of the surface of tidal flat increases slightly during the ebb and flow tide periods. The observed higher chlorinity of surface of the tidal flat was 18.82% Cl. 5. At near the esturay, the fresh water that overflows the tidal flat affects the chlorinity of the surface but no such influence to the depth of the flat. 6. From above observations, it is assumed that the young short necked clam in the tidal flat could be exposed to the severe change of environmental conditions. The high temperature of the tidal flat in summer and the low chlorinity of it at flood period may be considered as the change in environment.

보령 갯벌의 인위적 영향 및 생물학적 요인에 따른 대형저서동물 군집 변화 (Changes in Macrobenthic Community Depending on the Anthropogenic Impact and Biological Factors of Boryeong Tidal Flat, Korea)

  • 본 연구는 바지락과 쏙의 서식 구역이 대비되는 보령 주교 갯벌의 인위적인 환경 영향에 의한 저서동물 군집 특성을 확인하였다. 조사 기간 내 대형저서동물은 총 55종이 출현하였으며, 평균 서식밀도는 338 ind./m2, 생체량은 212.2 gWWt/m2이었다. 출현 종수는 상부(27종)에서 하부(37종)로 갈수록 증가하였고, 우점종은(상부: 둥근가시사자머리참갯지렁이, 중부: 고리버들갯지렁이, 하부: 바지락) 조위별로 다르게 나타났다. 집괴분석과 다차원척도법을 이용한 상위 10종의 저서동물 군집구조는 하부의 바지락 어장과 쏙 서식공 밀도가 높은 중부 정점 중심의 두 그룹으로 나뉘며, 특정 생물 종의 영향을 반영하였다. 쏙 서식 공간의 퇴적물 입도 조성은 변동 폭이 컸으나 연간 유지되었으며, 분급은 2.1 𝜑로 낮아져 같은 입자로 구성된 비율이 증가하였다. 특히, 중부는 인위적인 영향이 높음에도 고리버들갯지렁이가 우점하고, 쏙 서식공 밀도와의 연관성을 보여 이는 종간 상호작용에 기인하는 것으로 판단된다.

  • Numerical studies are performed to investigate the behavior of flat plates under combined in-plane and out-of-plane loads. The numerical model is verified by comparison with experiments for plates simply supported on four edges. Through study on different load combination and loading sequence, the critical load condition that governs the strength of the flat plate is determined. Parametric studies are performed to investigate the buckling coefficient and the effective flexural rigidity so that the moment magnification method is applicable to the flat plates.

  • This paper presents a numerical study on the effect of live load pattern on RC flat plate under in-plane compression. Through the numerical study on various live load pattern, the load condition that governs the strength of the flat plate is determined. Effects of L.L/D.L. and arrangement of reinforcement on the behavior of the flat plate are also studied. And the efficient arrangement of reinforcement regarding to live load pattern is proposed.

  • Polyester Filament Flat Yam의 경우 현재 Dope Dyed Yarn을 주로 사용하고 있지만 색상발현의 한계성으로 오랫동안 일반염색을 위해 연구하였지만 해결하지 못하고 있는 실정이다. Polyester Filament Flat Yarn의 선염이 어려운 이유는 Winding에서 치밀한 사층구조로 염료가 침투할 수 없이 치밀하게 되어 있기 때문이다. 특히 사의 이러한 치밀한 사층구조 때문에 염액침투가 어렵고, Soft Winding을 하면 미끄러짐 현상으로 사층의 붕괴가 일어나기 쉽고, Pirn Winding의 경우는 사층의 안전한 유지는 가능하지만 사층의 밀도가 높아서 염액의 순환이 순조롭지 못한 단점이 있다.   • Numerical studies were performed to investigate the seismic performance of Flat Plate System. For the numerical studies, a computer program for Finite Element analysis was developed. Parametric studies were performed to investigate variations of strength and ductility of flat plate with major parameters: gravity load, reinforcement ratio, thickness, column sizes. The numerical results provide a valuable insights on the behavior of flat plates. The comparison with the current design method shows that the current design methods for strength and ductility need to be improved in some aspects.
