This paper presents a new nonlocal Hyperbolic Shear Deformation Beam Theory (HSDBT) for the free vibration of porous Functionally Graded (FG) nanobeams. A new displacement field containing integrals is proposed which involves only three variables. The present model incorporates the length scale parameter (nonlocal parameter) which can capture the small scale effect and its account for shear deformation by a hyperbolic variation of all displacements through the thickness without using the shear correction factor. It has been observed that during the manufacture of Functionally Graded Materials (FGMs), micro-voids and porosities can occur inside the material. Thus, in this work, the investigation of the free vibration analysis of FG beams taking into account the influence of these imperfections is established. Four different porosity types are considered for FG nanobeam. Material characteristics of the FG beam are supposed to vary continuously within thickness direction according to a power-law scheme which is modified to approximate material characteristics for considering the influence of porosities. Based on the nonlocal differential constitutive relations of Eringen, the equations of motion of the nanobeam are derived using Hamilton's principle. The effects of nonlocal parameter, aspect ratio, and the porosity types on the dynamic responses of the nanobeam are discussed.

Dynamic behavior of temperature-dependent Reddy functionally graded (RFG) nanobeam subjected to thermomagnetic effects under the action of moving point load is carried out in the present work. Both symmetric and sigmoid functionally graded material distributions throughout the beam thickness are considered. To consider the significance of strain-stress gradient field, a material length scale parameter (LSP) is introduced while the significance of nonlocal elastic stress field is considered by introducing a nonlocal parameter (NP). In the framework of the nonlocal strain gradient theory (NSGT), the dynamic equations of motion are derived through Hamilton's principle. Navier approach is employed to solve the resulting equations of motion of the functionally graded (FG) nanoscale beam. The developed model is verified and compared with the available previous results and good agreement is observed. Effects of through-thickness variation of FG material distribution, beam aspect ratio, temperature variation, and magnetic field as well as the size-dependent parameters on the dynamic behavior are investigated. Introduction of the magnetic effect creates a hardening effect; therefore, higher values of natural frequencies are obtained while smaller values of the transverse deflections are produced. The obtained results can be useful as reference solutions for future dynamic and control analysis of FG nanobeams reinforced nanocomposites under thermomagnetic effects.
In this paper, a new refined hyperbolic shear deformation beam theory for the bending analysis of functionally graded beam is presented. The theory accounts for hyperbolic distribution of the transverse shear strains and satisfies the zero traction boundary conditions on the surfaces of the functionally graded beam without using shear correction factors. In addition, the effect of different micromechanical models on the bending response of these beams is studied. Various micromechanical models are used to evaluate the mechanical characteristics of the FG beams whose properties vary continuously across the thickness according to a simple power law. Based on the present theory, the equilibrium equations are derived from the principle of virtual work. Navier type solution method was used to obtain displacement and stresses, and the numerical results are compared with those available in the literature. A detailed parametric study is presented to show the effect of different micromechanical models on the flexural response of a simply supported FG beams.
This paper investigates the stability of a bi-directional functionally graded (BD-FG) cylindrical beam made of imperfect concrete, taking into account size-dependency and the effect of geometry on its stability behavior. Both buckling and dynamic behavior are analyzed using the modified coupled stress theory and the classical beam theory. The BD-FG structure is created by using porosity-dependent FG concrete, with changing porosity voids and material distributions along the pipe radius, as well as uniform and nonuniform radius functions that vary along the beam length. Energy principles are used to generate partial differential equations (PDE) for stability analysis, which are then solved numerically. This study sheds light on the complex behavior of BD-FG structures, and the results can be useful for the design of stable cylindrical microstructures.

This work presents an analytical approach to investigate wave propagation in bi-directional functionally graded cantilever porous beam. The formulations are based on Touratier's higher-order shear deformation beam theory. The physical properties of the porous functionally graded material beam are graded through the width and thickness using a power law distribution. Two porosities models approximating the even and uneven porosity distributions are considered. The governing equations of the wave propagation in the porous functionally graded beam are derived by employing the Hamilton's principle. Closed-form solutions for various parameters and porosity types are obtained, and the numerical results are compared with those available in the literature. The numerical results show the power law index, number of wave, geometrical parameters and porosity distribution models affect the dynamic of the FG beam significantly.
In this paper, the thermal effect on buckling and free vibration characteristics of functionally graded (FG) size-dependent Timoshenko nanobeams subjected to an in-plane thermal loading are investigated by presenting a Navier type solution for the first time. Material properties of FG nanobeam are supposed to vary continuously along the thickness according to the power-law form and the material properties are assumed to be temperature-dependent. The small scale effect is taken into consideration based on nonlocal elasticity theory of Eringen. The nonlocal equations of motion are derived based on Timoshenko beam theory through Hamilton's principle and they are solved applying analytical solution. According to the numerical results, it is revealed that the proposed modeling can provide accurate frequency results of the FG nanobeams as compared to some cases in the literature. The detailed mathematical derivations are presented and numerical investigations are performed while the emphasis is placed on investigating the effect of the several parameters such as thermal effect, material distribution profile, small scale effects, aspect ratio and mode number on the critical buckling temperature and normalized natural frequencies of the temperature-dependent FG nanobeams in detail. It is explicitly shown that the thermal buckling and vibration behaviour of a FG nanobeams is significantly influenced by these effects. Numerical results are presented to serve as benchmarks for future analyses of FG nanobeams.

In the present investigation, thermal buckling and free vibration characteristics of functionally graded (FG) Timoshenko nanobeams subjected to nonlinear thermal loading are carried out by presenting a Navier type solution. The thermal load is assumed to be nonlinear distribution through the thickness of FG nanobeam. Thermo-mechanical properties of FG nanobeam are supposed to vary smoothly and continuously throughout the thickness based on power-law model and the material properties are assumed to be temperature-dependent. Eringen's nonlocal elasticity theory is exploited to describe the size dependency of nanobeam. Using Hamilton's principle, the nonlocal equations of motion together with corresponding boundary conditions based on Timoshenko beam theory are obtained for the thermal buckling and vibration analysis of graded nanobeams including size effect. Moreover, in following a parametric study is accompanied to examine the effects of the several parameters such as nonlocal parameter, thermal effect, power law index and aspect ratio on the critical buckling temperatures and natural frequencies of the size-dependent FG nanobeams in detail. According to the numerical results, it is revealed that the proposed modeling can provide accurate frequency results of the FG nanobeams as compared some cases in the literature. Also, it is found that the small scale effects and nonlinear thermal loading have a significant effect on thermal stability and vibration characteristics of FG nanobeams.
Thermo-mechanical vibration of sandwich beams with a stiff core and face sheets made of functionally graded carbon nanotube-reinforced composite (FG-CNTRC) is investigated within the framework of Timoshenko beam theory. The material properties of FG-CNTRC are supposed to vary continuously in the thickness direction and are estimated through the rule of mixture and are considered to be temperature dependent. The governing equations and boundary conditions are derived by using Hamilton's principle and are solved using an efficient semi-analytical technique of the differential transform method (DTM). Comparison between the results of the present work and those available in literature shows the accuracy of this method. A parametric study is conducted to study the effects of carbon nanotube volume fraction, slenderness ratio, core-to-face sheet thickness ratio, and various boundary conditions on free vibration behavior of sandwich beams with FG-CNTRC face sheets. It is explicitly shown that the vibration characteristics of the curved nanosize beams are significantly influenced by the surface density effects.

A nonlocal trigonometric shear deformation beam theory based on neutral surface position is developed for bending, buckling, and vibration of functionally graded (FG) nanobeams using the nonlocal differential constitutive relations of Eringen. The present model is capable of capturing both small scale effect and transverse shear deformation effects of FG nanobeams, and does not require shear correction factors. The material properties of the FG nanobeam are assumed to vary in the thickness direction. The equations of motion are derived by employing Hamilton's principle, and the physical neutral surface concept. Analytical solutions are presented for a simply supported FG nanobeam, and the obtained results compare well with those predicted by the nonlocal Timoshenko beam theory.
