FCB GRID 상품분류에 의한 패션잡지 광고 분석 (Analysis of Fashion Magazine Advertising by FCB GRID)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyse the types of expression of fashion magazine advertising using the Foote, Cone and Belding(FCB) GRID model. Consequently, this study examined the presentation of fashion magazine advertising. The fashion magazine advertising(771 cases in women's magazines, 120 cases in men's magazines) was classified according to the FCB GRID model. The fashion magazine advertising was categorized into high involvement-feeling goods(jewelry, accessories, bags, shoes, perfumes, men and women dresses, jeans, bathing suits etc.), low involvement-feeling goods(casual wears, imitation accessories etc.), high involvement-thinking goods(cosmetics, underwears, sports shoes etc.) and low involvement-thinking goods(hair goods, sports wears, undergarments etc.). A great of the fashion advertising consisted of photography and the emotional approach. Thinking goods placed emphasis on the functional value, whereas high involvement-feeling goods placed emphasis on the emotional value and low involvement-feeling goods on the fashionable value.

  • Purpose Facebook is a social network service that has the highest number of Monthly Active Users around the world. Hence, marketers have selected Facebook as the most important platform to get customer engagement. With respect to the customer engagement enhancement, the most popular and engaging post type in the Facebook brand fan pages related to what was usually classified as 'sweepstakes'. Sweepstakes refer to a form of gambling where the entire prize may be awarded to the winner. Which makes customers more engaged with the brand. This study aims to explore sweepstakes-oriented social media marketing approaches based on the application of big data analytics. Design/methodology/approach we collect sweepstakes data from each company based on the data crawling from the Facebook brand fan pages. The output of this study explains how companies in each category of FCB grid can design and apply sweepstakes for their social media marketing. Findings The results show that they have one thing in common across the four quadrants of FCB grid. Regardless of the quadrants, most frequently observed type is 'Simple/Quiz or Comments/Quatrains [event type of sweepstakes] + Gifticon [type of reward prize] + Image [type of message display] + No URL [Link toother website] +Single-Gift-Offer [type of reward prize payment]'. So, if the position of the brand is hard to be defined by the FCB grid model, then this general rule can be applied to all types of brands. Also some differences between the quadrants of the FCB grid were observed. This study offers several research implications by analyzing Sweepstakes-oriented social media marketing approaches in Facebook brand fan pages. By using the FCB grid model, this study provides guidance on how companies can design their sweepstakes-oriented social media marketing approaches in the context of Facebook brand fan pages by considering their context.

  • Purpose Online reviews are critical for sales of online shopping platforms because they provide useful information to consumers. As the eCommerce market grows rapidly, the role of online reviews is becoming more important. The purpose of this study is to analyze how online reviews written by domestic consumers affect product sales by classifying the types of products. Design/methodology/approach This study analyzed how the effects of review characteristics(reviewer reputation, reviewer exposure, review length, time, rating, image, and emotional score) on the usefulness of online reviews differ depending on the product types. Subsequently, how the impact of review attributes (review usefulness, number of reviews, ratings, and emotional scores) on product sales differs according to each product type was compared. Based on the FCB Grid model, the product type was classified into high involvement-rational, high involvement-emotional, low involvement -rational, and low involvement-emotional product types. Findings According to the analysis result, the characteristics of reviews useful to consumers were different for each product type, and the review attributes affecting product sales were also different for each product type. This study confirmed that it revealed that product characteristics are major consideration in evaluating the review usefulness and the factors affecting product sales.

  • 요즘은 브랜드전쟁의 시대라고 한다. 정보와 기술발달에 의한 21세기 시장환경 하에서 기업간 경쟁요소와 소비자의 선택기준이 변화함에 따라 브랜드자산은 기업의 가치를 결정하는 중요한 요소로 등장하게 되었다. 소비자의 머릿속에 브랜드의 변별력을 제고하는 방법으로써 TV광고를 통한 브랜드광고에서의 캐릭터 사용은 일반적이고 유용한 방법으로 오래전부터 활용되어 왔다. 마케팅차원에서 브랜드의 인지도를 높이는 수단으로서 캐릭터의 역할과 가능성을 좀더 상세히 알아보고 미국 광고대행사인 FCB사의 그리드 모델을 통해 TV광고에서의 카테고리별 캐릭터 사용패턴과 관여도와의 상관관계를 분석해 보았다. 또한 캐릭터 사용소재별 분석, 그리고 표현양식에 따른 분석을 통해 최근의 카테고리별 캐릭터 사용태도와 기법 등을 조사하였다.

최후통첩게임에서 의사결정 상황의 영향 (The Effects of Decision-Making Situation In Ultimatum Game)

  • In the ultimatum game two players have to divide a certain amount of money between them. One player is the allocator and proposes a division of the money. The other is the recipient and can either accept or reject the proposed division. If the recipient accepts, the money is divided as proposed. If the recipient rejects, however, both players receive nothing. Purchase decisions could be classified on two basic factors (or dimensions) : involvement and think/feel in the FCB grid model. In this study we studied the influences of the two factors in purchase decisions on the choice of strategy (or propensity to fairness) in the ultimatum game. The empirical study showed that a decision maker chooses rational strategy more frequently when he (or she) is thinkful (or cognitive) in high involvement level.

미디어 플랫폼 유튜브 이용자의 광고 회의주의와 광고 회피 현상에 대한 고찰 (An Exploratory Study on the Advertising Skepticism and Avoiding of Youtube Users based on Media Platform)

  • 미디어 환경이 급변하면서 온라인 광고 시장의 규모가 급성장하고 있다. 하지만 성장세에 비해 소비자들의 온라인 광고에 대한 신뢰도는 기존 매체보다 매우 낮은 편이며 광고 회피 현상도 일어나고 있는 실정이다. 광고 회피의 요인에는 매체, 광고의 유형, 소비자의 특성 등이 있으며 그중에서도 소비자의 광고 회의주의에 대한 영향력이 중요시되고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 가장 큰 규모의 미디어 플랫폼 유튜브와 광고주에게 광고 전략에 대한 시사점을 제시하기 위하여 광고 회의주의를 중심으로 광고 소구, 관여도, FCB Grid 이론을 적용했으며 소비자의 광고 회피를 낮출 수 있는 방향을 제시하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 연구 1에서는 Kobaco의 2차 자료를 활용했으며 연구 2에서는 1차 자료의 Process macro 조절 회귀분석을 통해 광고 회의주의가 광고 태도 형성 과정에서 어떤 역할을 하는지 알아보았다. 또, FCB Grid 모델에서 ANOVA 분석을 통해 광고 회의주의 수준이 높은 소비자에게 어떤 광고 유형이 긍정적인 광고 태도를 나타내는지 측정하였다. 연구 1의 결과 광고 회피도가 높은 소비자는 광고 태도, 브랜드 태도, 제품에 대한 태도가 낮게 나타났다. 그리고 성별에 따라 차이가 나지는 않았지만 연령이 높아지고, 온라인 동영상 시청시간이 낮아질수록 광고 회피도는 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 2의 결과 감전전이 소구가 정보 소구보다 광고 태도에 더 큰 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며 광고 회의주의와 관여도의 조절효과는 유의한 것으로 나타났고 관여도가 낮고, 감정전이 소구가 높은 상황일 때 광고 회의주의 수준이 높은 소비자의 광고 태도가 낮은 소비자보다 높게 나타났다. FCB Grid 모델에서 광고 회의주의 수준이 높은 소비자들은 저관여와 고관여 제품에서 감정전이 소구 방식의 광고가 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 미디어 플랫폼 유튜브와 광고주들이 브랜드 태도, 구매 의도에 영향을 미치는 광고 회피 현상의 요인인 광고 회의주의에 대해 중요하게 생각해야 하며 광고 회의주의 수준이 높은 소비자들에게 제품의 유형에 따라 적합한 광고를 제시해야 한다는 것을 의미한다.

  • Following is discovered in this study by some. First, attribute(product/non- product) of that truth that get through experiment of this study is WOM deduced result that have statistical meaning in dependent variable which is public trust only in this study. Specially, information by word of mouth type received High positive response more with non-product information by word of mouth attribute than the product attribute in all experiment products that is parted according to involvement. Consumer's response by involvement level of product can affect for site attitude, public trust, and intention to purchase by second. For example, consumer's site attitude has induced the most positive response, and can confirm positive response of High consumer most in that involvement sensitivity product in that participation reason type product and could confirm response that is the most positive in that involvement reason product even if there is for intention to purchase. Result of this study is grasped that have High mean value relatively in site attitude, product attitude, information by word of mouth effect, public trust, brand attitude, purchase intention etc. generally that product involvement and information by word of mouth attribute are interrelation by third. This can change fairly data processing process according to consumer's Involvement Level, behavior deterministic process, consumer's action with attitude formation process, and involvement for products. High occasion than is low incline more efforts in information retrieval and is discreet result such as study finding of produce.

디지털 마케팅 성과에 영향을 미치는 제품의 유형과 디지털 채널 선정에 관한 연구 (The Effect of Product Type and Channel Prioritization on Effective Digital Marketing Performance)

  • Purpose - This study aims to build a systematic frame for effective marketing performances by prioritizing product type and pertinent channel that are appropriate for digital channel characteristics. FCB grid model was used to define a product type, and Internet communication satisfaction index was considered as a marketing performance measuring tool for digital channel. Research design, data, and methodology - As systematic understanding for Digital marketing is still unfamiliar to even professional marketer, the hypothesis was established based on preliminary research by conducting a qualitative survey of marketing experts who already experienced digital marketing in the fields as well as existing related study literature. Through a preliminary research, the degree for understanding for digital marketing, current digital marketing (including product/channel mix) execution status, and difficulties for marketers who had experienced digital marketing were figured out. Based on preliminary research, the main part of survey was designed to examine which type of product would be effective for digital marketing and which digital channel would be effective to achieve marketing performance in line with marketing objectives. To collect data, the questionnaire survey was conducted for professional marketers who had experienced digital marketing in 10 different fields including FMCG, cosmetics, distribution industry for one month (July, 10, 2014~Aug, 10, 2014). A total of 90 questionnaire were distributed and 66 questionnaires were used for the analysis, excluding the unanswered and insincere questionnaires. The data were analysed using SPSS ver.18.0. Results - The analysis for product type which is pertinent to digital marketing and prioritization for digital channel per digital marketing performance type could be summarized as followings. First, high involvement buying decision type of product and rational purchasing decision type of product in FCB grid are more effective for digital marketing in terms of marketing performance. Therefore, marketers in field would prioritize considering product type before executing digital marketing. Second, factor for sales increase, potential consumer creation and brand awareness was represented respectively 31.25%, 21.9%, and 20.8% as a result of factor analysis in terms of digital marketing channel performance. Third, effective major digital channel per digital marketing performance factor was differently identified as each digital channel has its own peculiarity. For instance, search engine is more effective for increasing sales while social media such as facebook and Kakaotalk is more effective for encouraging consumer participation. Conclusions - As a result of this study, product type and peculiarity which were pertinently fit to digital marketing were identified by using FCB grid model, and also suggested framework for decision making of digital channel selection in line with marketing objectives for effective marketing performance. It also provided insight to professional marketer which type of product could be effective for digital marketing execution as well as which factors should be measured for digital marketing performance.

제품의 심미적 영향요소인 단순/복잡, 균형에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Simplicity/Complexity and Balance of Product Aesthetic Factors)

  • 본 연구는 제품 심미성을 바탕으로 하며, 기존에 연구된 여러 연구들과 달리 심미성 차원들 간의 관계를 파악하고 이들의 변화에 따라 선호도가 어떻게 변화하는지를 연구하였다. 연구 방법은 실험을 통해 여러 심미성 요소들 중 단순/복잡과 균형을 선택하였으며, 이를 이용 시중에 사용되는 제품들을 FCB Grid를 통해 4개의 그룹으로 묶었다. 이후 이들에 각 그룹을 대표하는 2개의 제품을 선정 하였고 이들의 전형적 모델을 찾았다. 이 전형적 모델을 가지고 단순/복잡과 균형만을 가지고 변화를 시켜 자극물들을 제작하였으며, 이렇게 제작한 자극물을 가지고 단순/복잡, 균형 그리고 선호도의 관계를 증명 하였다. 또한 선호도의 정도값 변화를 측정하여, 디자인 개발 시 기초 자료로 제공하고자 한다. 차후 연구로 이러한 연구 과정을 통해 여러 심미적 차원들 간의 관계를 증명하고자 한다.
