Frank Lloyd Wright의 건축작품에 나타난 라이트의 공간 해석과 구성방법에 관한 연구(硏究) (A Study on F. L. Wright's Interpretation of the Space and the Method of the Composition in his architectural works)

  • The aim of this study is to understand the original methods of architectural composition in F. L. Wright's works, For this purpose, the principal thoughts based on his organic architecture was examined over all others, and the results of this study are as follows. 1. F. L. Wright knew Taoist Philosophy, especially Lao-tzu's thought about space based on traditional oriental arts included traditional japanese arts by his superior intuition. this is similar to Froebel Thought in the principal theory, that is, his own unique field of abstract architectural education with three-dimensional geometry learned through Froebel Gifts. 2. Space is reality ; such Lao-tzu's thought, reversed the sense of values, influenced F. L. Wright's way to accomplish his own continuous space. that is to say, he attempted taking precedence of spatial organization by the unit of three-dimensional module made the substance, Froebel Blocks (3, 4, 5, 6 Gifts) into non-substance, and trying to do the methods of continuous liberal composition in architecture. which is his original accomplishment, namely his mentioned 'democratic' because of judging the space and the mold of architecture as individualities. 3. F. L. Wright treated the space as a positive entity, so that he created his own architecture organically combined with spaces and forms. : This was the result that he comprehended both formative, physical worth in West and spatial, non-physical worth in East as equivalence. It is understood that F. L. Wright's works combined with East and West are the significance of his architecture and the progress of true internationalities and modernization in modern architecture. 4. From the analyses of his works, we knew the fact that F. L. Wright's architecture, especially in the spatial organization were performed by the reasonable methods with geometric system of Froebel Gifts. In the observation of our fundamental way of thinking on his architecture, this study shows the necessity to let us get out of preconceptions and conclusions that the organic architecture is mysterious and difficult, but to systematize and put his organic methods to practical use.

무기억 균일 신호원에 대한 수리 형태론적인 불림과 등가 시스템의 통계적 비교 (Statistical comparison of morphological dilation with its equivalent linear shift-invariant system:case of memoryless uniform soruces)

  • This paper presents a linear shift-invariant system euqivalent to morphological dilation for a memoryless uniform source in the sense of the power spectral density function, and comares it with dialtion. This equivalent LSI system is found through spectral decomposition and, for dilation and with windwo size L, it is shown to be a finite impulse response filter composed of L-1 delays, L multipliers and three adders. Th ecoefficients of the equivalent systems are tabulated. The comparisons of dilation and its equivalent LSI system show that probability density functions of the output sequences of the two systems are quite different. In particular, the probability density functon from dilation of an independent and identically distributed uniform source over the unit interval (0, 1) shows heavy probability in around 1, while that from the equivalent LSI system shows probability concentration around themean vlaue and symmetricity about it. This difference is due to the fact that dilation is a non-linear process while the equivalent system is linear and shift-ivariant. In the case that dikation is fabored over LSI filters in subjective perforance tests, one of the factors can be traced to this difference in the probability distribution.

THE λ-NUMBER OF THE CARTESIAN PRODUCT OF A COMPLETE GRAPH AND A CYCLE

  • An $L(j,k)$-labeling of a graph G is a vertex labeling such that the difference of the labels of any adjacent vertices is at least $j$ and that of any vertices of distance two is at least $k$ for given $j$ and $k$. The minimum span of all L(2, 1)-labelings of G is called the ${\lambda}$-number of G and is denoted by ${\lambda}(G)$. In this paper, we find a lower bound of the ${\lambda}$-number of the Cartesian product $K_m{\Box}C_n$ of the complete graph $K_m$ of order $m$ and the cycle $C_n$ of order $n$. In fact, we show that when $n{\geq}3$, ${\lambda}(K_4{\Box}C_n){\geq}7$ and the equality holds if and only if n is a multiple of 8. Moreover when $m{\geq}5$, ${\lambda}(K_m{\Box}C_n){\geq}2m-1$ and the equality holds if and only if $n$ is even.

당근 쥬스가 감자 쥬스의 효소적 갈변 반응에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Carrot Juice on Enzymatic Browning of Potato Juice)

  • Potato and carrot are the main sourses of vitamin C and vitamin A each. As a folk ramedy, potato-carrot mixtures have been used to cure a stomach ulcer in Korea. To investigate the effects of carrot juice on the browning of potato juice, we examined the brewing in various ratio of two juices. We also investigated the role of potato juice in the carotene oxidation of carrot juice. Delta "L" values of potato juice were abruptly decreased after 5 min. reaction and they were very different from the juice mixture of potato and carrot. Those containing higher ratio of potato were decreased greatly. In blanching treatment to eliminate the effect of the enzymes in potato and carrot, delta "L" values of cooked potato were decreased a little but those of cooked carrot were decreased greatly. To investigate the fact that the inhibitory effect of carrot juice in potato browning was due to the dilution of polyphenolics of potato juices by carrot juice mixing, we added H20 equivalent to carrot water content to potato juice. The diluted sample showed less decreasing pattern than nondiluted sample. We also added appropriate amount of ${\beta}$-carotene to the same samples. Delta "L" values of with added B-carotene were more slowly decreased than those of without added B-carotene.

한약재 열수추출물의 항산화효과 검정 (Screening of Antioxidative Activity of Hot-Water Extracts from Medicinal Plants)

  • 130종의 식물성 한약재 열수 추출물의 항산화활성 및 세포에 대한 항변이원성과의 관련성을 조사하였다. 항산화활성은 DPPH 자유라디칼에 대한 전자공여능 및 Fenton반응에 의해서 생성되는 hydroxyl radical$({\cdot}OH)$ 소거능을 각각 측정하였다. 조사한 대다수의 한약재들이 전자공여능 및 ${\cdot}OH$ 소거능을 가지고 있었는데, DPPH 자유라디칼에 대한 전자공여능이 가장 큰 한약재는 필발(Piper longum L.)이었으며, ${\cdot}OH$ 소거능이 가장 큰 한약재는 석곡(Dendrobium moniliforme L.)이었다. 항산화활성의 측정 결과, 전자공여능 및 ${\cdot}OH$ 소거능이 대조구에 비하여 모두 50% 이상이 되는 항산화 효과가 큰 한약재는 지모(Anemarrhena asphodeloides Bunge)를 포함하여 24종 이었다. 항변이원성을 뚜렷하게 나타내는 11종의 한약재가 $Cu^{2+}$ 존재 하에서 DNA의 손상이 유도될 수 없는지 여부를 조사한 결과, 택사(Alisma canaliculatum All. Br.)와 백자인(Nitraria sibirica Pall), 오약[Lindera strychifolia (Sieb. et Zucc) Villar]을 제외한 모든 시료에 의하여 DNA의 손상이 일어난다는 사실을 알았다. 또한 택사와 백자인은 화학적 돌연변이원인 mitomycin C가 유발하는 DNA손상도 강하게 억제함을 확인하였다.

Application of the L-index to the Delineation of Market Areas of Retail Businesses

  • As delineating market areas of retail businesses has become an interesting topic in marketing field, Lee and Lee recently suggested a noteworthy method, which applied the hydrological analysis of geographical information system (GIS), based on Christaller's central place theory. They used a digital elevation model (DEM) which inverted the kernel density of retail businesses, which was measured by using bandwidths of pre-determined 500, 1000 and 5000 m, respectively. In fact, their method is not a fully data-based approach in that they used pre-determined kernel bandwidths, however, this paper has been planned to improve Lee and Lee's method by using a kind of data-based approach of the L-index that describes clustering level of point feature distribution. The case study is implemented to automobile-related retail businesses in Seoul, Korea with selected Kernel bandwidths, 1211.5, 2120.2 and 7067.2 m from L-index analysis. Subsequently, the kernel density is measured, the density DEM is created by inverting it, and boundaries of market areas are extracted. Following the study, analysis results are summarized as follows. Firstly, the L-index can be a useful tool to complement the Lee and Lee's market area analysis method. At next, the kernel bandwidths, pre-determined by Lee and Lee, cannot be uniformly applied to all kinds of retail businesses. Lastly, the L-index method can be useful for analyzing the space structure of market areas of retail businesses, based on Christaller's central place theory.

대장균 배양에서의 유기산 생성과 투석배양에 관한 연구 (A Study of Organic Acid Formation and Dialysis Culture in E. coli Fermentation)

  • 초산이온이 대장균 성장을 저해하는 현상을 규명 하기 위해서 M9 배지, LB 배지를 사용해서 플라스 크, 발효조 배양을 수행하였다. 대장균의 초산 생성 은 높은 포도당 초기 농도, LB 배지와 같은 복합 배 지에서 활발하였고, 플라스크 배양과 같은 pH 조절 이 되지 않는 배양방법에셔는 초산의 생성에 따른 pH 감소에 따라 세포성장이 많이 저해되었다. 초산 을 외부에서 첨가하여 세포성장에 마치는 영향을 조 사하여 보았는데 LB 배지를 사용한 플라스크 배양 에서는 첨가된 초산의 농도가 2g/l 이상, M9 배지 를 사용한 플라스크 배양에서는 초산의 농도가 4g/l 이상, 그리고 M9 배지를 사용한 발효조 배양에 셔는 8g/l 이상에서 초산의 성장 저해효과가 나타 다. LB 한천 배지를 볕에 깐 LB 액체 배지의 플라스 크 배양을 수행하였다. LB 한천의 양이 증가함에 따라서 한천에서 포도당의 방출이 일어나 최종 대장 균 세포 O.D.가 증가하였다.

성인으로부터 분리된 Lactobacillus casei CU2604의 우유배지에서의 생장 특성 및 생리적 특성 (Growth Characteristics and Physiological Properties in Milk of Lactobacillus casei CU2604 Isolated from Adult Feces)

  • 이 연구는 성인분변으로부터 발효유 제조에 이용되는 probiotic로서의 우수한 능력을 지닌 균주를 선발하는데 목적을 두었으며 선택배지에서의 성장, 그람 양성, 현미경 관찰을 통해서 간균인 총 204개의 sample 중에서 10% skim milk에서 24시간 배양 후 커드 형성 여부에 따라 19개를 선발하였고, 2차 계대하여 48시간 후에 커드 형성 여부를 통해 6개를 선발하였다. 그 중에서 산 생성 능력이 우수한 균주를 3개 선발하여 원유로부터 분리한 L. casei MCL과 L. casei YIT 9029의 특성을 비교하였다. 선발된 균주는 그람 양성이고, 간균이며, 당 발효 실험과 16S rDNA 분석결과 Lactobacillus casei로 판명되어 L. casei CU2604, L. casei CU3204, L. casei LC8로 명명하였다. 이중 L. casei YIT 9029과 동일한 당 발효패턴을 보인 L. casei CU2604는 pH 변화와 생균수의 변화가 L. casei YIT 9029와 비슷한 양상을 보이고 PFGE 패턴이 같았다. 그러나 세포벽 지방산조성 분석결과를 통하여 L. casei YIT 9029와는 다른 균주임을 알 수 있었으며, 담즙내성, pH내성은 더 우수한 결과를 보였고, 또한 L. casei CU2604는 병원성균에 대하여 우수한 생육억제 능력을 나타내었다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 L. casei CU2604는 상업용 균주에 못지 않은 스타터로서의 특징을 가지고 있는 것으로 판단되며, 이 균주의 probiotics 특성에 대한 추가적인 연구가 진행 중에 있다.

발레 뤼스에 나타난 박스트의 무대의상 연구 (A Study on Leon Bakst's Stage Costumes for Ballets Russes)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze Bakst's stage costume illustrations for Ballets Russes. The Russian Ballets has renown in the West since the early 20th century. Diaghilev first made his name as the organizer of art exhibitions in Russia and Western Europe. Diaghilev risked presenting only ballets in 1909, that time Bakst designed $Sch{\acute{e}}h{\acute{e}}razade$, L'Oiseau de Feu and Le Carnival. $Sch{\acute{e}}h{\acute{e}}razade$ was something new which overwhelmed the French people by then. It was seen to be the achievement of Wagner's idea where all the elements; the music, the design, the choreography, and the dancing fused into a perfect whole. The entire production was a hitherto unseen harmony of colors, sounds and movements. For the 1911 season in Paris, Diaghilev planned to present six new ballets and Bakst designed four ballets. Bakst's design of the set and the costume greatly shocked the audience. His "Originality" shines on the fact that he introduced a palette of colors in theater for the first time in history. He used a magic of colors to suggest the secret meaning of what was happening on the stage. The results can be divided into three distinct characteristics. First, oriental designs such as $Cl{\acute{e}}op{\hat{a}}tre$, $Sch{\acute{e}}h{\acute{e}}razade$, L'Oiseau de Feu, La $P{\acute{e}}ri$ and Le Dieu Blue with Russian, Indian and Persian traditional design in headdress and accessories ars found. Second, Le Carnival and La Spectre de la Rose used romantic styles with oriental details. Third, Greek chiton and Himation are used in Narcisse, $H{\acute{e}}l{\grave{e}}ne$ de Sparte, $L'Apr{\grave{e}}s-Midi\;d^{\grave{\;}}un$ Faune and Daphnis et $Chlo{\acute{e}}$ inspirde with various colors and geometic patterns. Bakst's orient of lush colored costumes, head dress, cushions, rugs and hangings became the immediate fashion imitated by Parisian couture houses and interior decorators.

Malo-Alcohol 발효(醱酵)에 있어서 사과산의 대사경로(代謝経路) (Metabolic Pathway of L-Malate in Malo-Alcoholic Fermentation)

  • Malo-alcohol 발효효모(醱酵酵母) Schizosaccharomyces japonicus var. japonius St-3에 의한 사과산의 대사경로(代謝經路)를 검토한 결과는 다음과 같다. Schiz, japonicus var. japonicus St-3의 조효소(粗酵素)의 활성(活性)을 측정(測定)한 바, malic enzyme(EC1. 1. 1. 40)의 효소활성(活性)이 malate dehydrogenase(EC1. 1. 1. 37)보다 약 4배 높았으며 양효소(兩酵素)의 기질(基質)인 L-malate에 대한 Km치(値)는 malic enzymed l 3. 125mM, malated dehydrogenase는 4. 761mM로써 기질에 대한 친화성(親和性)에 있어서 malic enzyme 쪽이 훨씬 컸다. malo-alcohol발효(醱酵)과정중 사과산이 소시(消矢)되어 pyruvate가 생성(生成)됨을 확인(確認)할 수있었으며 $Mn^{2+}$에 의해 malic enzyme의 활성(活性)이 촉진(促進)되었다. 이상의 결과(結果)로 미루어 본(本) 공시균(供試菌)에 의한 사과산 대사(代謝)의 주경로(主經路)는 $malate{\rightarrow}pyruvate{\rightarrow}acetaldehyde{\rightarrow}ethanol$의 경로(經路)를 거치는 것으로 추정(推定)할 수 있었다.
