This study examined dynamic and characteristics and chloride penetration of concrete mixed with large amount of FA and BFS, which are considered for positive application to construction fields with purpose of long-tern durability of concrete structures. As a result of strength test on FA and BFS, FA concrete showed higher increase of strength compared to OPC, when FA4000 and FA5000 were mixed 30%, respectively. For BFS concrete, those mixed with 30% and 50% of BFS8000, respectively, showed higher or equivalent strength compare to OPC. As a result of test of chloride penetration on FA and BFS, diffusion coefficients of concrete mixed with 30% FA4000 and FA5000, respectively, showed to restrain average 6.5% of diffusion coefficient compared to OPC. And in case of BFS concrete, those mixed with BFS6000 and BFS8000, restrained diffusion of chloride ions 253% and 336%, respectively, compared to OPC. Therefore, Mixing 50% of BFS was most efficient in order to maximize restraint of chloride penetration according to metathesis of large amount. For relation between compression strength and diffusion coefficient of FA and BFS concrete, as strength increased, diffusion coefficient decreased. In this study, when mixing FA and BFS to concrete for long-run durability and restraint against chloride penetration, for FA, mixing it to concrete with less or equivalent 30% of replacement rate was most efficient. And for BFS, as fineness was higher and mixing it to concrete with less or equivalent 50% of replacement rate, there were results of higher strength compared to OPC and more efficient restraint of chloride ions.

This study analyzed is to investigate the effect of the combined use of fly ash and coarse particle cement(RCC) collected in particle classification method during ordinary portland cement(OPC) on the fundamental properties of concrete. Totally 16 batches of the concrete was fabricated vary the contends of FA and RCC. As results of experiment, in the case of flow, the more the contents of RCC, the larger the flow. And the more the contents of FA displacement rate increased, the less the flow. As for simple adiabatic temperature rise due to the RCC and FA contents, it decreased with the increase of them. And particularly in the case of RCC 30% + FA 30%, temperature rise amount, was very low. Compressive strength decreased in proportion to increase of the contents of FA and RCC. And strength ratio of the concrete incorporating FA and RCC for plain concrete at 28 days was 88%${\sim}$98%, which was relatively good results.

Recently there have been media reports of some domestic FA refinement factories that omit the refinement process and ship raw material directly, for production time and cost reduction purposes, resulting in a negative effect on concrete quality. Accordingly, it's expected to have a negative effect on concrete quality. So this study seeks to clarify the impact that FA quality has on concrete's engineering characteristics, using various FA from refined FA being circulated in the nation to reject ash discarded during the refinement process. The results showed that when FA is used, liquidity is enhanced than when only OPC is used in the combination, and when refined FA is used air quantity and intensity increases as well.

The primary purpose of this study is to investigate reusal techniques of by-product produced the combined heat power plant in the construction field, which may contribute to the savings of construction materials and the conservation of enviornment. This study is compared and evaluated by testing the chemical resistance, adiabatic temperature rising test, creep and drying shrinkage. As the result of the study, the following conclusions are derived : (1) hydration heat of the fly ash concrete is less than the plain concrete in adiabatic temperature rising test, (2) the fly axh concrete (FA 30%) is similar to the plain concrete in the chemical resistamce, (3) the fly ash concrete (FA 10, 30%) is similar to the plain concrete in drying shrinkage, but the fly ash concrete (FA 50%) is highly increased, (4) the fly ash concrete (FA 30%) is less than the plain concrete in creep test.

This paper is to investigate the mixture proportion, compressive strength and drying. shrinkage of concrete depending on mineral admixtures such as fly ash (FA), blast furnace slag (BS) and cement kiln dust (CKD) under various contents of admixtures. The use of CKD had little effect on strength development at 3 days, while the use of FA and BS lead to similar compressive strength compared with that of control concrete. Concrete with CKD exhibited a reduction of compressive strength at 91 days, meanwhile concrete with FA and BS had a increase compared with that of control concrete. Drying shrinkage of concrete depending on CKD and BS increase compared with that of control concrete about $10\∼20\%$, while the use of FA exhibited reduce compared with that of control concrete about $10\∼15\%$.
The present study proposed a k-value to determine the water-to-binder ratio of concrete using fly ash (FA) or ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBS) as a partial replacement of ordinary portland cement (OPC) with regard to an equivalent strength of OPC concrete. From the regression analysis using an extensive database including 7076 concrete mixes, k-values were determined for various water-to-binder ratios when the replacement ratio of OPC by the addition of FA or GGBS were below 50%. For deriving an equation to identify k-value, the relationship of concrete compressive strength and water-to-binder ratio was generalized by an exponential function. In general, k-values decreased with the increases in the addition of FA or GGBS for replacement of OPC and water-to-binder ratio. The rate in decreasing k-value against water-to-binder ratio was marginally affected by the addition of FA or GGBS, although a higher k-value was commonly obtained for GGBS concrete than for FA concrete at the same water-to-binder ratio. Consequently, the determined k-values were simplified as a function of water-to-binder ratio and the addition ratio of FA or GGBS as replacement of OPC.

In this study, accelerated chloride diffusion tests were performed on OPC(Ordinary Portland Cement) and FA(Fly Ash) concrete considering three levels o f W/B(Water to Binder) ratio o n 1,095 curing days. The accelerated chloride diffusion coefficient and the passed charge were evaluated in accordance with Tang's method and ASTM C 1202, and the resistance performance to chloride attack improved over time. FA concrete showed excellent resistance performance against chloride penetration with help of pozzolanic reaction. As the result of the passed charge, FA concrete showed durability improvement, "low" grade to "very low" grade, but OPC concrete changed "moderate" grade to "low" grade at 1,095 curing days. After assuming the design variables used for durability design as normal distribution functions, the service life of each case was evaluated by the probabilistic analysis method based on MCS(Monte Carlo Simulation). In FA concrete, the increase of probability of durability failure was lower than that of OPC concrete with increasing time, because the time-dependent coefficient of FA concrete was up to 3.2 times higher than OPC concrete. In addition, the service life by probabilistic analysis was evaluated lower than the service life by deterministic analysis, since the target probability of durability failure was set to 10%. It is considered that more economical durability design will be possible if the mo re suitable target probability of durability failure is set for various structures through researches on actual conditions and indoor tests under various circumstances.

This paper investigates the properties of high fluidity concrete incorporating lime stone powder and fly ash. Lime stone powder(LSP) and fly ash(FA) contents are varied with. According to test results, as LSP and FA contents increase, fluidity, air content and placeability shows a declining tendency. For the temperature history, both LSP and FA have favorable effects on reducing hydration heat, moreover, LSP reduces hydration heat more than FA. LSP shows undesirable strength loss as its content increases. FA also decreases the strength at early age, but it enhances later age strength. Accordingly LSP is expected to improve the quality at fresh concrete and reduce hydration heat, while it causes strength loss.

With the recent development in construction industry, industrial by-products fly ash(FA) and blast furnace slag(BS) have been used in large quantities as an alternative to cement, as a solution for environmental problems and resource exhaustion. This study analyzed the basic characteristics according to the changes in replacement ratio and mixing ratio of FA and BS in high strength SCMs concrete, from which in turn it sought to find the optimal mixing ratio for high strength concrete The results showed that in unhardened concrete the more the replacement ratio and FA mixing ratio increases the slump flow will increase while amount of air decreases, and setting time is delayed. In hardened concrete the more the replacement ratio and FA mixing ratio increases the more the overall compression strength decreases, but until 28 days of material age the larger of the BS ratio displayed the best compression strength.

Tailing Material (TM) and Fly Ash (FA) are obtained as waste products from the mining and thermal industries. Studies were carried out to explore the possibility of utilizing TM as a part replacement to fine aggregate and FA as a part replacement to cement, in concrete mixes. The effect of replacing fine aggregate by TM and cement by FA on the standard sized specimen for compressive strength, split tensile strength, and flexural strengths are evaluated in this study. The concrete mix of M40 grade was adopted with water cement ratio equal to 0.40. Concrete mix with 35% TM and 65% natural sand (TM35/S65) has shown superior performance in strength as against (TM0/S100, TM30/S70, TM40/S60, TM50/S50, and TM60/S40). For this composition, studies were performed to propose the optimal replacement of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) by FA (Replacement levels studied were 20%, 30%, 40% and 50%). Replacement level of 20% OPC by FA, has shown about 0-5% more compressive strength as against the control mix, for both 28 day and 56 days of water curing. Interestingly results of split tensile and flexural strengths for 20% OPC replaced by FA, have shown strengths equal to that of no replacement (control mix).
