Autonomous evaluation of ambient vibration of underground spaces induced by adjacent subway trains using high-sensitivity wireless smart sensors

  • The operation of subway trains induces secondary structure-borne vibrations in the nearby underground spaces. The vibration, along with the associated noise, can cause annoyance and adverse physical, physiological, and psychological effects on humans in dense urban environments. Traditional tethered instruments restrict the rapid measurement and assessment on such vibration effect. This paper presents a novel approach for Wireless Smart Sensor (WSS)-based autonomous evaluation system for the subway train-induced vibrations. The system was implemented on a MEMSIC's Imote2 platform, using a SHM-H high-sensitivity accelerometer board stacked on top. A new embedded application VibrationLevelCalculation, which determines the International Organization for Standardization defined weighted acceleration level, was added into the Illinois Structural Health Monitoring Project Service Toolsuite. The system was verified in a large underground space, where a nearby subway station is a good source of ground excitation caused by the running subway trains. Using an on-board processor, each sensor calculated the distribution of vibration levels within the testing zone, and sent the distribution of vibration level by radio to display it on the central server. Also, the raw time-histories and frequency spectrum were retrieved from the WSS leaf nodes. Subsequently, spectral vibration levels in the one-third octave band, characterizing the vibrating influence of different frequency components on human bodies, was also calculated from each sensor node. Experimental validation demonstrates that the proposed system is efficient for autonomously evaluating the subway train-induced ambient vibration of underground spaces, and the system holds the potential of greatly reducing the laboring of dynamic field testing.

CNN 기반 전이학습을 이용한 뼈 전이가 존재하는 뼈 스캔 영상 분류 (Classification of Whole Body Bone Scan Image with Bone Metastasis using CNN-based Transfer Learning)

  • Whole body bone scan is the most frequently performed nuclear medicine imaging to evaluate bone metastasis in cancer patients. We evaluated the performance of a VGG16-based transfer learning classifier for bone scan images in which metastatic bone lesion was present. A total of 1,000 bone scans in 1,000 cancer patients (500 patients with bone metastasis, 500 patients without bone metastasis) were evaluated. Bone scans were labeled with abnormal/normal for bone metastasis using medical reports and image review. Subsequently, gradient-weighted class activation maps (Grad-CAMs) were generated for explainable AI. The proposed model showed AUROC 0.96 and F1-Score 0.90, indicating that it outperforms to VGG16, ResNet50, Xception, DenseNet121 and InceptionV3. Grad-CAM visualized that the proposed model focuses on hot uptakes, which are indicating active bone lesions, for classification of whole body bone scan images with bone metastases.

후두엽의 허혈성 뇌졸중 환자에서 시각피질의 기능적 자기공명영상 (Functional MRI of Visual cortex in the Patients with Occipital Lobe Ischemia)

  • 목적 : 후두엽의 허혈성 경색환자에서 시각피질의 기능적 자기공명영상의 유용성을 알아보고자 하였다. 대상 및 방법 : 후대뇌동맥의 시각파절 부위에 대한 혈류공급 장애로 인하여 시각피질의 허혈 또는 경색 증후를 보이는 환자 4명을 대상으로 하였다. 모든 환자는 안과적 시야검사를 받았으며 자기공명 혈관조영술(n=4)과 디지털 감산 혈관조영술(n=2)을 시행하여 혈관이상을 확인하였다. 기능적 자기공명영상은 2D-FLASH 기법(TRITE = 90/56 msec, TA = 8.32 see, $FOV{\;}={\;}240{\times}240,{\;}matrix{\;}No.={\;}64{\times}128$, slice thickness = 8mm)을 이용하였으며 초당 8 회로 점멸하는 적색 광자극원을 이용하여 5회의 광자극기간과 5회의 휴식기간을 번갈아 8차례, 총 40회의 검사를 시행하였다. 기능적 자기공명영상 소견을 안과적 시야검사 결과, 고식적 자기 공명영상 결과, 혈관조영술 결과와 비교 분석하였다. 결과 : 기능적 자기공명영상에서는 모든 환자가 혈관조영술에서 혈관이상을 보인쪽의 시각피질의 활성화가 이루어지지 않는 소견을 보였다. 그러나 이중에 2 환자는 고식적 자기공명영상이 정상이었다. 시야결손이 3 환자에서 관찰되었는데 이중 한 환자는 고식적 자기공명영상과 확산 자기공명영상에셔 정상소견이었지만 기능적 자기공명영상에서는 시야결손이 있는 쪽의 시각피 질의 촬성화가 이루어지지 않는 소견을 보였다. 결론 : 시각피질의 기능적 자기공명영상은 안과적 시야검사, T2강조영상 또는 확산강조명영상에서 발견되지 않는 시각피질의 허혈 또는 혈류잠재능 감소 상태를 감지할 수 있는 민감한 검사 방법이라고 생각된다.효율적이고 강력한 QA 도구로 자리 잡을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.지하였으며 폐사율은 각각 1.9%, 1.9%, 2.9%와 1.0%로써 대조군의 4.8%에 비하여 낮은 수준을 보여 질병에 대한 저항능력이 향상되었다.kg/h로 분석되었다. 6. 건조작업 중에 소요되는 전력은 9.5~19.3 Wh/kg이었으며, 연료효율 6.9~9.3kg-$H_2$O/L와 열효율 50.2~65.1%에 의한 수분증발량은 124.0~125.4 kg-$H_2$O/h 로 나타났다. 7. 건조기의 열효율을 70%를 기준으로 평가한다면, 시작기의 열효율은 조금 낮은 수준이며, 열관리 계통의 개선을 필요로 하였다. 8. 제작된 계분건조기의 시작기를 15,000수 규모의 양계농장에서 사용한다면 관행의 계분처리 방법에 비하여 약 590,700(원/월)의 비용을 절감할 수 있을 것으로 추정되었다}0.09\;ml/1.5\;hr)$. 이상(以上)의 결과(結果)는 ethanol의 혈중농도(血中濃度)가 높을수록 더 심(甚)한 혈압강하작용(血壓降下作用)을 나타내며, ethanol 로 인(因)한 이뇨작용(利尿作用)도 ethanol 량(量)이 증가(增加)함에 따라 뇨량(尿量)도 증가(增加)함을 보여 주었다.ults showed that the overall quality of Sullungtang significantly decreased as the parity increased for Hanwoo cows. Chemical characteristics of wet precipitation in urban and mountainous sites of Jeju Island

  • Wet precipitation samples were collected in Jeju City and Mt. Halla-1100 site (a site at an altitude of 1100 m on Mt. Halla) during 2011-2013, and their major ionic species were analyzed to examine the chemical composition and characteristics. A comparison of ion balance, electric conductivity, and acid fraction of precipitation revealed correlation coefficients in the range of r = 0.950~0.991, thereby implying the high quality of analytical data. Volume-weighted mean pH and electric conductivity corresponded to 4.86 and 25.5 µS/cm for Jeju City, and 4.98 and 15.1 µS/cm for Mt. Halla-1100 site, respectively. Ionic strengths of the wet precipitation in Jeju City and Mt. Halla-1100 site corresponded 0.3 ± 0.5 and 0.2 ± 0.2 mM, respectively, thereby indicating that more than 30 % of total precipitation was within a pure precipitation criteria. The precipitation with a pH range of 4.5 - 5.0 corresponded to 40.8 % in Jeju City, while the precipitation with a pH range of 5.0 - 5.5 corresponded to 56.9 % in Mt. Halla-1100 site, thereby indicating slightly more weak acidity than that in Jeju city. The volume-weighted mean concentration (µeq/L) of ionic species was in the order of Na+ > Cl- > nss-SO42- > NO3- > Mg2+ > NH4+ > H+ > nss-Ca2+ > PO43- > K+ > CH3COO- > HCOO- > NO2- > F- > HCO3- > CH3SO3- at Jeju City area, while it corresponded to Na+ > Cl- > nss-SO42- > NO3- > NH4+ > H+ > Mg2+ > nss-Ca2+ > PO43- > CH3COO- > K+ > HCOO- > NO2- > F- > HCO3- > CH3SO3- at Mt. Halla-1100 site. The compositions of sea salts (Na+, Cl-, Mg2+) and secondary pollutants (NH4+, nss-SO42-, NO3-) corresponded to 66.1 % and 21.8 %, respectively, in Jeju City and, 49.9 % and 31.5 %, respectively, in Mt. Halla-1100 site. The acidity contributions in Jeju City and Mt. Halla-1100 site by inorganic acids, i.e., sulfuric acid and nitric acid, corresponded to 93.9 % and 91.4 %, respectively, and the acidity contributions by organic acids corresponded to 6.1 % and 8.6 %, respectively. The neutralization factors in Jeju City and Mt. Halla1100 site by ammonia corresponded to 29.8 % and 30.1 %, respectively, whereas the neutralization factors by calcium carbonate corresponded to 20.5 % and 25.2 %, respectively. From the clustered back trajectory analysis, the concentrations of most ionic components were higher when the airflow pathways were moved from the continent to Jeju area.

  • A simple conservation technique baled silage making of selected froage materials was discussed in Suwon and in Muan county during 1991 - 1992. Eleven species of forage crops and pasture grasses(maize. sorghum, pearl millet, barnyardgrass, rye, barley, spring oat, Italian ryegrass, orchardgrass, alfalfa and grass-legume pasture mixtures) were harvested at different growth stage from young plant to maturity and baled in a self constructed square baling chamber, and wrapped in a 0.05mm thick polyethylene plastic film. Each bales measured by 90cm long, 60cm wide and 50cm height and weighted between 15~20kg in dry matter basis. physio-molphologcal characteristics of the plants, leaf weight ratio(LWR), leaf area ratio(LAR), stalk ratio (SR), stalk hardness(SH) and other growth parameters, were analysed and were used as a parameter to evaluate the suitability of materials for baling. Italian ryegrass including orchardgrass, alfalfa and pasture mixtures produced high quality baled silage. Silage quality point(F1ieg-point) of Italian ryegrass was improved from 63 point in crushed custom silage to 75 piont in baled silage. Meterial of grass-legume pasture mixtures showed 55 point in crushed silage and 67 point in baled silage. Fodder rye, barley, spring oat and barnyardgrass were also evaluated as a good materials for baled silage making. On the other hand, meize including sorghum and peral millet were evaluated as a not suitable materals for baling due to its high value of SR and SH. Quality of maize was excellent with 88 point in clushed silage and medium with 47 point in baled silage making.

한반도 배경지역 (안면, 울진, 고산) 상수의 산성도와 화학특성 (Acidity and Chemical Composition of Precipitation at Background Area of the Korean Peninsula (Anmyeon, Uljin, Gosan))

  • Precipitation samples were collected at Anmyeon (1997 - 2004), Uljin, and Gosan (1998 ~ 2004), the background area of the Korean Peninsula. These samples were analyzed for the concentration of 9 major ionic components ($F^{-}$,$Cl^{-}$, $NO_{3}^{-}$, $SO_{4}^{2-}$, $Na^{+}$, $NH_{4}^{+}$, $K^{+}$, $Mg^{2+}$, $Ca^{2+}$) with including a pH and an electric conductivity. Data quality for these samples was verified by ion balance and conductivity balance which are based on GAW manual for precipitation chemistry and the number of valid data at Anmyeon, Uljin, and Gosan is 249, 173, and 188, respectively. During the study period, the precipitation-weighted average pH at Anmyeon, Uljin, and Gosan was found to be 4.81, 4.87 and 4.89, respectively and each annual average pH was showed below pH 5.6 for every site. From the frequency survey on the precipitation acidity, the occurrence rate of acid rain below pH 5.6 is greater than $80\%$ for every site. Particularly, the highest occurrence rate for strong acid rain below pH 4.5 was found at Anmyeon, $32.1\%$, compared with other sites ($10.4\%$ at Uljin, $15.4\%$ at Gosan). That's because acidifying species (nss-$SO_{4}^{2-}$, $NO_{3}^{-}$) are remarkably high concentration at Anmyeon.

잔디의 물질생산과 성장해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Dry Matter Production and Growth Analysis of Zoysia japonica)

  • An experiment was made in order to analyze the growth characteristics and productivity of Zoysia japonica under control, mowing and TIBA treatment conditions at the experimental farm of Kyung Hee univ. from May 26 to Oct. 1 in 1985. The field was planned by the randomized block design method and each treatment was given to three plots (2${\times}$2, 4${\times}$4 and 10${\times}$10 cm) and was replicated three times. Each plot was 1$m^2$ for Zoysia japonica. The sampling of each plot was taken once a week after sowing. In order to know the dry matter of total standing crops, kept 9$0^{\circ}C$ and weighted each organ of the plants. Total leaf area of a plant was measured by drawing method. The author adopted the growth analysis of English School. The increasing rates of numbers of leaf and stem were remarkably high in each plot between 10th and 12th weak after sowing and it was highest in TIBA treated plot. The increasin rate of leaf area in each plot was remarkably high beween 10th and 12th week and the maximum value of leaf area was 274.00c$m^2$ in TIBA treated plot of 100 plants/$m^2$. The increasing rate of standing crop was remarkably high between 10th and 12th week and the high increasing tendency in TIBA plot resulted from TIBA. The positive correlationship was founded between standing crop and leaf area. The evaporation rather than temperature acted as a main factor of negative correlation with standing crop during the experiment period. Solar radiation had a high positive correlation in the lower density of plot. C/F ratio was low, during the growth period, from 10th to 12th week after sowing and was low in the higher density under each treated plot. T/R ratio was not constant during the sampling period but was high in the lower density. The increasing rates of RGR and NAR were high between 11th and 12th week after sowing. Leaf area ratio was high in higher density in each plot and not constant in all treated plot.

칼슘 이온으로 완전히 치환된 제올라이트 A의 탈수 구조와 칼슘 치환 제올라이트 A에 요오드가 흡착된 착물 구조 (The Structures of Dehydrated Fully $Ca^{2+}$-Exchanged Zeolite A and of Its iodine Sorption Complex)

  • 완전히 Ca2+ 이온으로 치환된 탈수구조(a=12 2f3(2) .41와 이 결정에 요오드가 흡착된 구조(a= 12.258(2) 입)를 21살에서 입방공간군 Pm3m를 사 용하여 단결정 X-선 회절법으로 구조를 해석하였다. 탈수구조는 I>3 w (I)인 206개의 반사를 사용하 여 Rw값이 0.081까지 정밀화되었고 요오드가 흡착 된 구조는 173개의 반사를 사용하여 Rw값이 0.084 까지 정밀화되었다. 각각의 구조에서 단위세포당 6 개의 Ca2+ 이온은 6-링의 산소와 결합하면서 3개 의 다른 3회 회전축상에 위치하였다. 탈수한 칼슘 치환 제올라이트 A는 80살에서 단위세포당 여섯개의 요오드 분자를 흡착하며 각 요오드 분자는 골조 산소 원자와 전하이동 착물을 형성하였다(I-0=3. 32(3) A, I-I=2.7l (2) A 그리고 I-I-0=180℃).

Development of a Group-specific Average Brain Atlas: A Comparison Study between Korean and Occidental Groups

  • One of the most important roles of a brain atlas is providing a spatial reference system in which multiple images can be interpreted in a consistent way. The brain atlase based on Western populations such as the International Consortium for Brain Mapping's 452 T-1 Weighted Average Atlas was widely used; however, they may not be the optimal choice for use with brain images from other ethnic groups, because structural differences between occidental and oriental brains have been reported. Therefore, in this study, we created an average brain atlas from 100 healthy Koreans (100 cases (M/F=53/47), 39.0±17.0 years). The purpose of this study was to make a Korean average-brain atlas and to measure its differences from a widely accepted average brain atlas built on an occidental population. The average brain atlas for Koreans was developed using widely accepted tools and procedures. The comparison between the Korean and occidental averages was performed using tissue probability maps and a registration tool, and it was shown that the global pattern of differences between the two average brains found in this work agreed with previously reported differences: Korean brains are wider and shorter in size, and smaller in volume, yet no hemispheric volume asymmetry was found.

고산지역 강수의 화학 성분 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Chemical Features of Precipitition at High Mountain Area)

  • Recently, the acid precipitation, composed primarily of dilute $H_2$S $O_4$, HN $O_3$and originating from the burning of fossil fules, has become one of the major environmental problems. This study was carried out to investigate the chemical features of precipitation at Sobaek-san Meteorological Observation Station(mean sea level; 1,340m, 36$^{\circ}$56’N, 128$^{\circ}$27' E)from May 1991 to December 1993. The major Point in this study divided the whole wind directions into two parts. And, the two parts are the north- westerly wind case and south-easterly wind case. The concentration of anions and cations in precipitation were measured by ion chromatography(Dionex 4000i). The volumn weighted mean pH and conductivity values of the whole precipitation period were 5.26, 14.3$mutextrm{s}$/cm, respectively. The order and frequency rate of the major anions concentration in the north- westerly and south easterly wind case were S $O_4$$^{2-}$(49.3%) > N $O_3$$^{[-10]}$ (23.9%) > C $l^{[-10]}$ (14.8%) > $F^{[-10]}$ (12.0%) and S $O_4$$^{2-}$(61.1% ) > N $O_3$$^{[-10]}$ (21.5%) > C $l^{[-10]}$ (13.5%) > F/sip -/(4.0%), respectively. The order and frequency rate of the major cations concentration in the north-westerly and south- easterly wind case were $Ca^{2+}$(49.3%) > N $H_4$$^{+}$(24.2%) >N $a^{+}$(22.4%) >M $g^{2+}$(14.9%) > $K^{+}$(3.8%) and N $H_4$$^{+}$(4:3.8%) $Ca^{2+}$(28.6%) > N $a^{+}$(16.8%) > $K^{+}$(6.3%) > $Mg^{2+}$(4.5%), respectively. The larger anions and cations concentration values than others were S $O_4$$^{2-}$, N $O_3$$^{[-10]}$ and $Ca^{2+}$, N $H_4$$^{+}$, respectively. The correlation coefficient between pH value and ion concentrations for the north-westerly and south-easterly wind case was shown less than 0.5 except for Ca/.sup 2+/ in the statistical analysis SPSS. But the correlation coefficient for the all wind case between sulfate and cations was shown high correlation above 0.6.correlation above 0.6.
