In this study, PEO (plasma electrolytic oxidation) film formation behavior of AZ31 Mg alloy under application of 300 Hz pulse current was studied by the analyses of V-t curve, arc generation behavior, PEO film thickness and morphology of PEO films with treatment time in 0.05 M NaOH + 0.05 M Na2SiO3 + 0.1 M NaF solution. PEO films was observed to grow after 10 s of application of pulse current together with generation of micro-arcs. PEO film grew linearly with treatment time at a growth rate of about 5.58 ㎛/min at 200 mA/cm2 of pulse current but increasing rate of film formation voltage became lowered largely with increasing treatment time after passing about 250 V, suggesting that resistivity of PEO films during micro-arc generation decreases with increasing film formation voltage at more than 250 V.

In this paper, we have designed MIMO system using F-OFDM modulation. And then, we have evaluated and analyzed synchronization performance of the system. In this paper we have considered Schmidl's method, Minn's method, and Park's method. As simulation results, Schmidl's method has wide plateau of timing metric and Park's method has impulse-shape timing metric. Also, we can confirm that timing metric characteristic of synchronization estimator can be degraded by adjusting filter length of F-OFDM system. Especially, we can confirm that timing metric of synchronization estimator is shifted according to filter length of MIMO system using F-OFDM modulation and this timing metric movement can be compensated by using designed filter length.

This paper illustrates the analysis and design of a multi-resonant converter applied to an electric vehicle (EV) charger. Thanks to the notch resonant characteristic, the multi-resonant converter achieve soft switching and operate with a narrowed switching frequency range even with a wide output voltage range. These advantages make it suitable for battery charging applications. With two more resonant elements, the design of the chosen converter is more complex than the conventional LLC resonant converter. However, there is not a distinct design outline for the multi-resonant converters in existing articles. According to the analysis in this paper, the normalized notch frequency $f_{r2n}$ and the second series resonant frequency $f_{r3n}$ are more sensitive to the notch capacitor ratio q than the notch inductor ratio k. Then resonant capacitors should be well-designed before the other resonant elements. The peak gain of the converter depends mainly on the magnetizing inductor ratio $L_n$ and the normalized load Q. And it requires a smaller $L_n$ and Q to provide a sufficient voltage gain $M_{max}$ at ($V_{o\_max}$, $P_{o\_max}$). However, the primary current increases with $(L_nQ)^{-1}$, and results in a low efficiency. Then a detailed design procedure for the multi-resonant converter has been provided. A 3.3kW prototype with an output voltage range of 50V to 500V dc and a peak efficiency of 97.3 % is built to verify the design and effectiveness of the converter.
A Korean local maize line, MET, which has multi-ears and tillers has been proved as a potential source for silage production. However, no fundamental genetic nature for the line has been investigated. Therefore, this study was done to find genetic information on the multi-earing and -tillering habits of MET line. MET line and a hybrid. (Mo 17 ${\times}$ B68), with monoculm and single ear per plant were used for production of F$_1$(F$\_$1-12/ and F$\_$1-21/), F$\_$2-12/, F$\_$2-21/, BC$\_$1-12/ and BC$\_$1-21/ generations. From the comparison of reciprocal crosses, it was found that the tillering and earing habits of the MET line are controlled by cytoplasmic factors. The tiller and ear numbers, and barren ears were all characters associated with the MET cytoplasm. The cytoplasmic effect of MET on tiller and ear numb en was not evident in F$_1$ generation, probably because of suppressing effect of heterosis on appearance of tillers or ears. Genetic parameters for the gene action for both tiller and ear number also indicated a lack of mono- or digenic-chromosomal gene effects. The heritability (broad) was very low for both characters. Therefore, it is strongly concluded that the tillering and earing characters of MET line are due to cytoplasmic reasons.
The study was conducted to get genetic information on quantitative characters of $F_1$ in barley through diallel crosses using seven malting barley. The results obtained were summarized as follows. Additive, dominant, maternal, and reciprocal effort were observed in culm length, spike length, awn length, culm diameter, grain length, grain width, ]lumber of grains per spike, and 1000 grain weight. Based on the Vr-Wr graphical analysis, culm length, spike length, awn length, grain length, and number of grains per spike were found to be inherited over dominance. Dominant effects were higher than additive effects in culm length, spike length, awn length, culm diameter, grain length, grain width, number of grains per spike, and 1000 grain weight. The narrow- sense heritability showed high value as 40.06% for spike length.
This experiment was conducted to examine estimates of heterosis, degree of dominance, heritability and phenotypic and genotypic correlation for several mutant characters in flue-cured tobacco variety. Significant heterosis was noted, recording 2.73 and 6.16% for leaf width, -6.86 and -4.72 for leaf shape index, 19.8 and 23.4% for bacterial wilt disease index in Fl an4 F2 generation, respectively, and -1.44 for days to flower in F2 generation. And also leaf width was appeared partial dominance in Fl, and leaf shape index in Fl and F2, Leaf width in F2 was appeared overdominance. Estimated heritabilities in the broad sense ranged from 0.77 to 0.87 for plant and stalk height and days to flower, while those of leaf number, leaf length and width, leaf shape index and bacterial wilt disease index ranged from 0.50 to 0.65. And the heritabilities in the narrow sense were appeared 0.64 and 0.72 for stalk and plant height, respectively, and the others were ranged from 0.32 to 0.47 Positive genotpic correlations appeared among plant height, stalk height, leaf length and leaf width, and between leaf shape index ands day to flower. And negative genotypic correlations appeared between leaf shape index and plant height and stalk height and leaf width, and between bacterial wilt disease index and leaf length.
In order to develop near isogenic lines (NILs) the heterozygous rice plants for alkali digestibility value(ADV) were selected and tested in every generation from $F_5$to $F_9$ of a cross, Seratus malam/Suwon 345. Finally several sets of NILs, which were six low ADV lines and four medium-high ADV lines, were selected among $F_{10}$ lines. No differences of the plant growth characteristics, amylose content and protein content of rice grain were found between low and medium-high ADV lines. Rice flour of low ADV lines showed longer gel length in gel consistency test than medium-high ADV lines, and also showed different gelatinization characteristics measured by rapid visco analyzer compared with medium-high ADV lines. The result of genetic analysis indicated that ADV-NILs developed were differed in a pair of major gene controlling ADV, and low ADV was dominant over medium-high ADV.
KB 101 is a bacterial wilt(Pseudomonas solanaceamm E.F. Smith) and black shank (Phytophthora nicotianae Breda de Haan Var. nicotianae Waterhouse) resistant cultivar of burley tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum L.) KB 101 was developed by the Korea Ginseng&Tobacco Research Institute, and released in 1987. KB 101 was developed from a single plant selection in the F2 generation derived from the double cross, [(Burley 21X Burley 37) X (Burley 64X Ky 16)]. Burley 37 and Burley 64 were the source of resistance to bacterial wilt and black shank. Yield trials were conducted in the Fs through F6 generations at the four Exp. Stn. of Korea Ginseng &Tobacco Research Institute as JB 7705-1. On-farm yield trials were conducted in the F7 through F9 generations at the 45 locations of burley tobacco growing area from 1984 to 1986 as KB 101. KB 101 has an erect growth habit similar to that of Burley 21: plant size is larger and has more leaves than those of Burley 21. It is late maturing cultivar that flowers approximately 3 days later than Burley 21. The physical characteristics and chemical composition of KB 101 were similar to those of Burley 21.

In this paper we demonstrate a cryptanalysis of the stream cipher LILI-128. Our approach to analysis on LILI-128 is to solve an overdefined system of multivariate equations. The LILI-128 keystream generato $r^{[8]}$ is a LFSR-based synchronous stream cipher with 128 bit key. This cipher consists of two parts, “CLOCK CONTROL”, pan and “DATA GENERATION”, part. We focus on the “DATA GENERATION”part. This part uses the function $f_d$. that satisfies the third order of correlation immunity, high nonlinearity and balancedness. But, this function does not have highly nonlinear order(i.e. high degree in its algebraic normal form). We use this property of the function $f_d$. We reduced the problem of recovering the secret key of LILI-128 to the problem of solving a largely overdefined system of multivariate equations of degree K=6. In our best version of the XL-based cryptanalysis we have the parameter D=7. Our fastest cryptanalysis of LILI-128 requires $2^{110.7}$ CPU clocks. This complexity can be achieved using only $2^{26.3}$ keystream bits.
The objectives of this study were to investigate color patterns of shell and mantle edge pigmentation of a Pacific oyster, C. gigas, and to estimate variance components of the two colors. A sample of 240 F0 oysters was collected from six aquaculture farms in Tongyeong, Korea to measure shell color and mantle edge pigmentation. Among the F0s, male and female individuals with black (white) shell and black (white) mantle edge were selected and mated to generate three F1 full-sib black (white) cross families (N = 265). Two and four F2 cross families (N = 286) were also produced from black and white F1 selected individuals, respectively. Variance component estimates due to residuals and families within color were obtained using SAS PROC VARCOMP procedures to estimate heritability of shell and mantle edge pigmentation. In the F0 generation, about 29% (11%) had black (white) color for both shell and mantle edge. However, in the F1 and F2 black (white) cross families, 75% (67%) and 100% (100%) of oysters had black (white) shell colors, and 59% (23%) and 79% (55%) had black (white) mantle edge, respectively. Spearman correlation coefficients between shell and mantle edge color were 0.25, 0.74, and 0.92 in F0, F1, and F2 generations, respectively, indicating that, with generations of selection process, an individual with black (white) shell color is more likely to have black (white) mantle edge pigmentation. This suggests that shell color could be a good indicator trait for mantle edge pigmentation if selection of both the colors is implemented for a couple of generations. Estimates of heritability were 0.41 and 0.77 for shell color and 0.27 and 0.08 for mantle edge pigmentation in the F1 and F2 generations, respectively, indicating that, in general, significant proportions of phenotypic variations for the shell and mantle edge colors are explained by genetic variations between individuals. These results suggest that the two color traits are inheritable and correlated, enabling effective selection on shell and mantle edge color.
