  • The sensory characteristics of red wine Gerbong (G), Campbell (C), Moru (M), Gerbong + Moru (70 : 30, GM), Gerbong + Campbell (70 : 30, GC) and French wine (F, Carbernet Sauvignon, 1998) were evaluated. The preferences of color, flavor, taste and total evaluation were determined by a ranking test, and the organoleptic characteristics were evaluated by a quantitative descriptive analysis (QDA) method. The mean color scores of C, GM, F, GC, M and G were 4.74, 3.94, 4.67, 3.70, 2.65 and 1.47, respectively (p<0.001). The order for the mean score for flavor was GM (4.12) = M (3.94) = C (3.76) = F (3.76) ${\geq}$ GC (3.12)>G (2.29) (p<0.01), and the order for taste was F (4.75) ${\geq}$ C (4.25) ${\geq}$ GM (3.37) = GC (3.50) ${\geq}$ G (2.75) = M (2.37) (p<0.001). The total evaluation of mean scores showed G, M, C, GM, GC and F were 237, 2.44, 4.06, 3.87, 3.64 and 4.81, respectively (p<0.001). Influences of sensory characteristics on the total evaluation, in percentages, were 69.3% for taste, 3.7% for color, and 1.5% for flavor. The influences of taste, color, and flavor in red wine were 17% for sweet, acid, bitter and salty taste, 28.9% for purple and red color, and 14.4% for grape flavor. The attributes of the purple and red colors showed a positive correlation with grape flavor, oak flavor, grape taste, and floral tastes, but a negative correlation with $SO_2$, flavor. The attribute of sweet taste showed a positive correlation with grape flavorand floral flavor, but a negative correlation with bitter and astringency tastes, according to Pearsons correlation analysis (p<0.01).

  • This paper proposes a method for generating a basis translation matrix between isomorphic extension fields. To generate a basis translation matrix, we need the equality correspondence of a basis between the isomorphic extension fields. Consider an extension field $F_{p^m}$ where p is characteristic. As a brute force method, when $p^m$ is small, we can check the equality correspondence by using the minimal polynomial of a basis element; however, when $p^m$ is large, it becomes too difficult. The proposed methods are based on the fact that Type I and Type II optimal normal bases (ONBs) can be easily identified in each isomorphic extension field. The proposed methods efficiently use Type I and Type II ONBs and can generate a pair of basis translation matrices within 15 ms on Pentium 4 (3.6 GHz) when $mlog_2p$ = 160.

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the strain-specific PCR primers for the identification of prevotella inter-media ATCC 49046 which is frequently used in the pathogenesis studies of periodontitis. The Hind III-digested genomic DNA of P. intermedia ATCC 49046 were cloned by random cloning method. The specificity of cloned DNA fragments were determined by Southern blot analysis. The nucleotide sequence of cloned DNA probes was determined by chain termination method. The PCR primers were designed based on the nucleotide sequence of cloned DNA fragment. The data showed that Pig6 DNA probe were hybridized with the genomic DNA from P. intermedia strains (ATCC $25611^T$ and 49046) isolated from the Westerns, not the strains isolated from Koreans. The Pig6 DNA probe were consisted of 813 bp. Pig6-F3 and Pig6-R3 primers, designed base on the nucleotide Sequences Of Pig6 DNA Probe, were 3150 specific to the only both P. intermedia ATCC $25611^T$ and P. intermedia ATCC 49046. In the other hand, Pig6-60F and Pig6-770R primers were specific to the only P. intermedia ATCC 49046. The two PCR primer sets could detect as little as 4 pg of chromosomal DNA of P. intermedia. These results indicate that Pig6-60F and Pig6-770R primers have proven useful for the identification of P. intermedia ATCC 49046, especially with regard to the maintenance of the strain.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze emotional labor factors influencing job satisfaction, intent to leave, and nursing performance of clinical nurses. Method: The participants were 384 clinical nurses working in a hospital. Study design was cross sectional survey. Subcategories of emotional labor (frequency of emotional labor, attentiveness of emotional display, mismatch of emotions) of emotional labor were dependent variables. Job satisfaction, intent to leave, and nursing performance were independent variables. Data were analyzed by hierarchial multiple regression. Results: The strength of emotional labor of nurses was similar for all participants in spite of differences in age, position, and clinical career. Total score for emotional labor was 3.21, frequency of emotional labor 3.34, attentiveness of emotional display 3.41, and mismatch of emotions 2.87. Mismatch of emotions influenced job satisfaction (F=12.53, p<.001) $R^2$ 27%, intent to leave (F=8.51, p<.001) $R^2$ 19%, and nursing performance (F=5.80, p<.001) $R^2$ 15%, Conclusion: These findings indicate that the factor (mismatch of emotion) is an important variable for clinical nurses in human resource management. Therefore, nurse managers should consider this factor for the improvement of organizational effectiveness.
