In this paper, we solve the additive functional inequality $${\parallel}f(x)+f(y)+f(z){\parallel}{\leq}{\parallel}{\rho}f(s(x+y+z)){\parallel}$$, where s is a nonzero real number and ${\rho}$ is a real number with ${\mid}{\rho}{\mid}$ < 3. Moreover, we prove the Hyers-Ulam stability of the above additive functional inequality in Banach spaces.

This study was attempted to generate a monoclonal antibody against human $\alpha$-fetoprotein (AFP) and to produce an immunoassay, recognizing AFP in plasma and amniotic fluid. AFP was purified from human amniotic fluid and used to immunize mice. Spleens were taken from the mice and the cells were fused with mouse myeloma cells (Sp2/0-Ag-14) for the production of monoclonal antibodies by employing the hybridoma technology. As a result, a hybridoma cell line producing anti-AFP monoclonal antibody was cloned out and designated as MabF22. From isotyping analysis, it was found that monoclonal antibody MabF22 was IgG type with IgG1 heavy chain and k light chain. The binding specificity of MabF22 was analyzed by immunoblotting as well as by ELISA. MabF22 was highly specific, reacting with only AFP-containing samples. The binding affinity was determined by ELISA (free-capture mode) and Scatchard analysis. As a result, the value of Kd was 0.8$\times$10$^{-10}$M. The validity of the MabF22 for AFP assay was examined by two kinds of ELISAs, i.e., non-competitive and competitive ELISA. Both assays revealed that MabF22 reacted well with AFP in sample in a concentration-dependent manner. Standard curve and antibody titration curve were obtained by using purified AFP and MabF22. These results indicate that the monoclonal antibody produced in this study would be useful not only for research purposes but also for further development of immune-diagnostic kit for the measurement of AEP concentration.

The goal of this paper is to measure and compare the performance of solar heat pump for refrigerants. To accomplish the goal, solar heat pump with aluminum roll bond type evaporator and indoor heat exchanged(condenser) was built. The test results showed that the COP and heating capacity of HFC-32/125/134a(23/25/52 wt%, $CH_2F_2/CF_3CHF_2/CF_3CH_2F$) were higher than those of HCFC-22$(CHClF_2)$. A study proved that best conditions to use heating system that is about $40m^2$ and $80m^2$. The COP range of the whole system was from 4 to 6 according to the solar collector's area variation. Hydrochlo-rofluorocarbon HCFC-22$(CHClF_2)$ is included in the compound to be controlled. HFC-32/125/134a(23/25/52 wt%, $CH_2F_2/CF_3CHF_2/CF_3CH_2F$) is the most suitable replacement HCFC-22$(CHClF_2)$ in solar heat pump application. The solar heat pump system was designed to show the best efficiency that the room temperature make $18\sim20^{\circ}C$ and $23\sim25^{\circ}C$ in Seoul during the fall season.

This work studies about the composition polynomial f(g(x)) that preserves certain properties of f(x) and g(x). We shall investigate necessary and sufficient conditions of f(x) and g(x) to be f(g(x)) is separable, solvable by radical or split completely. And we find relationship of Galois groups of f(g(x)), f(x) and of g(x).

In this study, a method of error compensation for channel gain imbalance, phase imbalance and local oscillator leakage in the modulator of frequency direct conversion is suggested. The compensation of channel imbalance can be carried out by using the received power after transmitting test signal. By applying this method, the phase imbalance conversion with frequency can be easily compensated since this method is rarely affected by the transmission channel. It is confirmed that the algorithm proposed in this study(iteration coefficient=11) converges faster than conventional algorithm(iteration coefficient=43). From the numerical results, the DC-offset, channel gain, phase imbalance compensation coefficient and iteration number converges into($f_1$=0.0199999, $f_2$=-0.050001, $C_{22}$=0.9133, $C_{12}$=-0.0524, N=13) when the local oscillator leakage is not considered. However, it converges into($f_1$=-0.02, $f_2$=-2.2476, $C_{22}$=0.9133, $C_{12}$=-0.0524, N=16) when the local oscillator leakage is considered.

This study was conducted for the purpose of examinating the safety and economical efficiency of large high tension bolted joints. The specimen using F10T-M30 large high strength bolts has been selected and static tensile test has been conducted to evaluate the slip characteristics. In addition, finite element analysis has been carried out to estimate the number of required bolts. As a result, the average slip coefficient of M30 high strength bolts exceeded 0.4 - the standard in highway bridge design specification - and has satisfied the slip strength, which is the same as that of M22 high strength bolts. In addition, if F13T-M22 high strength bolts were applied, the number of required bolts decreased by 21%, and if F10T-M30 high strength bolts were applied, the number of required bolts decreased by 46%, that leads to the conclusion that the economical efficiency in accordance with diametering of high strength bolts was now verified.

Twenty-two isolates of Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. fragariae were obtained from diseased strawberry plants and their characteristics were investigated by vegetative compatibility group (VCG), random amplified polymorphic DNA (RAPD), and pathogenicity. Three major VCGs (A, B, and C) and one incompatible group were identified by nitrate reductase complementation test. The virulence pattern of the 22 isolates was studied in relation to four cultivars including Dochiodome, Red-pearl, Maehyang and Akihime. RAPD markers were used to determine genetic relationship, and created three major clusters among the 22 isolates of F. oxysporum f. sp. fragariae. Isolates belong to VCG-C were strongly pathogenic, and relatively high correlation was existed among VCG and RAPD, and virulence. In addition, VCG and RAPD pattern between pathogenic and non-pathogenic isolates were distinctly different.

We determine the general solution of the generalized additive-quartic functional equation f(x + 3y) + f(x - 3y) + f(x + 2y) + f(x - 2y) + 22f(x) - 13 [f(x + y) + f(x - y)] + 24f(y) - 12f(2y) = 0 without assuming any regularity conditions on the unknown function f : ${\mathbb{R}}{\rightarrow}{\mathbb{R}}$ and its stability is investigated.
