  • In the VnR (Virtual and Real Worlds) of recent virtual reality convergence, the modelling of realistic human face is focused on the facial appearance such as the shape of facial parts and muscle movement. However, the facial changing parameters caused by environmental factors beyond the facial appearance factors can be regarded as important ones in terms of effectively representing virtual avatar. Therefore, this study evaluates user's visual feeling response according to the opacity variation of eye reflection of virtual avatar which is considered as a new parameter for reprenting realistic avatar. Experimental result showed that more clear eye reflection induced more realistic visual feeling of subjects. This result can be regarded as a basis for designing realistic virtual avatar by supporting a new visual realistic representing factor (eye reflection) and its degree of representation (reflectance ratio).

  • The purpose of this study is a review of previous studies and principles of eye-tracking techniques that are actively applied in recent elementary science education. Also it proposes to utilize the direction of eye tracking techniques in elementary science education research. Recent eye-tracking technology was developed, using the infrared pupil and the corneal reflection can be safely and accurately track the eye movements of the participants. Eye tracking has the advantage of higher temporal resolution, accessibility, convenience, objectivity, stability and safety. Analysis of the previous studies, there was a difference in the study design and analysis. The workshops and seminars are needed for accurate understanding of eye-tracking method in elementary science education research. In conclusion, the eye-tracking can be utilized such as effectiveness analysis of teaching materials and media, behaviors analysis of teachers and students in a real class, cognitive strategies and attention analysis of the student, discriminating tool of various education evaluation, etc.

  • In this paper, I try to measure characteristic transmission-reflection by environmental change or solar cell. I keep my eye on the characteristics variation of solar cell as environmental change. As a result, A variation caused by voltage by an effect on the efficiency of solar PV cell. Hence, it is an important variable when a designer plan to make a solar cell.

  • It was theoretically calculated the image position and size using matrix to obtain the reflection pattern for eye's cornea and crystalline, and made system to measure the reflection pattern by three light sources and a reflex camera. Hyperopia and myopia were measured by reflect pattern using single light source at retina, and cornea and curvature of crystalline were measured by the reflection pattern using double light sources.

  • In this paper, we analyze the tracking errors of monopulse radar according to the JSR of retrodirective cross-eye and radar skin return signals. The cross-eye jammer gain(Gc) is used to calculate the radar tracking errors, and the relationship between the jammer gain and the JSR is represented mathematically. We analyze the radar tracking errors by varying the tracking angle and JSR. Analysis results of the phase difference(ϕ) and amplitude ratio(a) between the two jammer signals and the changing JSR show that the closer the phase difference of the two jammer signals is to 180, the greater the tracking error and it shows that if the JSR is above 20dB, the tracking errors no longer increase. This work presents an effective utilization of retrodirective cross-eye jammers through various tracking error analyses based on the JSR, tracking angles, two-jammer phase differences and amplitude ratios of two-jammer signals.

  • 'The eye' and 'the gaze' organize the visual system and distinguish the subject from the others. Recent philosophical thoughts have forcefully argued against the tradition characterized by the domination of the eye that assimilates the alterity of the others to one's own, cancels their alterity, and totalizes their differences within himself. In the speculative discourse modeled on the eye, the alienation of self in its other and the reflection of the object are linked together in such a way as to form a totality in which they are reflected into one's another, leaving absolutely no remainder outside. By contrast to this totalizing tendency of the eye, Sartre and Lacan propose the gaze that becomes constitutive of vision. The modern architecture reinforced subject's eye and clearly separated the others from subject Through Descartes's visual paradigm, space became homogeneous and nature was seized by architecture. However, recently the clear boundary between subject and object is disappearing. Lacan insisted that oneself's eye and the other's gaze are mixed up in human sight This means that the boundary between the subject and the other is indistinct and also the boundary between an object and landscape is meaningless in architecture. The overthrow of gaze in contemporary architecture appears in the form of trans-boundary, translucency and widen architectural notion and expression.

  • Videooculography (VOG) is one of the eye-movement measurement methods used for objective evaluation of vestibule -ocular reflex. A key feature of VOG is to estimate accurately the center of pupil and ocular torsion with being less influenced by the upper eyelid droop, eyelashes, corneal reflection, and eye blinks. Especially, it Is important to find the accurate center of the pupil in 3-D VOG because the inaccurate pupil center causes significant errors on measuring torsional eye movement. A new algorithm was proposed to find the center of pupil which is a little influenced by factors mentioned above. In this study, real time three-dimensional VOG which can measure horizontal, vortical, torsional eye movements, and the diameter of pupil was implemented using the proposed method.

  • In this paper, we propose the new eye detection method by using adaboost (adaptive boosting) method. Also, to reduce the false alarm rate which identifies the non-eye region as genuine eye that is the Problems of previous method using conventional adaboost, we proposed the post processing methods which used the cornea specular reflection and determined the optimized ratio of eye detecting box. Based on detected eye region by using adaboost, we performed the double circular edge detector for localizing a pupil and an iris region at the same time. Experimental results showed that the accuracy of eye detection was about 98% and the processing time was less than 1 second in mobile device.
