1) Objective External treatments have various curative effects. So it had been used to cure various patients. But, it has a limited sphere of application in the present South Korea. And the "Li-Yao-Pian-Won" had been written by Wu-Shang-Xian(吳尙先) in 1864. The book is the first technical book of external treatments. So, he has been held in respected as the father of external treatments by many people. Therefore we would like to bring out it's external treatments theory 2) Conclusions He had insisted that external treatments principles are identical with internal treatments. So, prescriptions of external treatment are selected and made by principles of internal treatment. But external treatments have following characteristics 1. Each of external treatment prescriptions have various effects. 2. Exchange of treatments is very easy. 3. We can make free use of various external treatments for care at a time. 4. External treatments are very economical. 5. External treatments are very easy to study. 6. External treatments are simple, speedy, precision.

External treatments have various curative effects. So it had been used to cure various patients. Especially, Zhao-Xue-Min(趙學敏) had thought that there are useful treatments of wander doctors. So, the "Chuan-Ya(串雅)" had been written by Zhao-Xue-min in 1759. The book had included treatments of wander doctors. it had included various external treatments. Therefore we would like to bring out it's external treatments in the part of ophthalmic, otolaryngologic and surgical diseases. We have researched external treatments of "Chuan-Ya", and then we have arrived at following conclusions. "Chuan-Ya" has 56 sentences that have related to external treatments in the part of ophthalmic, otolaryngologic and surgical diseases. And then, the treatments were, for the most of the part, bathing therapy, application therapy.

So, the "Chuan-Ya(串雅)" had been written by Zhao-Xue-min in 1759. The book had included treatments of wander doctors. Especially, it had included various external treatments. Therefore we would like to bring out it's external treatments theory 2) Conclusions We have researched external treatments of "Chuan-Ya", and then we have arrived at following conclusions. "Chuan-Ya" has 48 sentences that have related to external treatments in internal medicine. And it had recorded fire conducting method(引火法) to explain process of external teratment principle.

Recently there are concerned about External Treatment in Oriental medicine and a lot of study is researched. But it is not enough to apply to clinic and it has difficult subject. ${\ulcorner}$Wai-Ke-Zheng-Zong${\lrcorner}$ had been made by Chen-Shi-gong(陳實功). It included synthetic External Treatments in those days. So we would like to bring out external treatment methods in it and be easy to use clinic. In addition we want extend territory of treatment methods of oriental medicine. We have researched external treatment of ${\ulcorner}$Wai-Ke-Zheng-Zong${\lrcorner}$ according to below three methods. We researched using external treatment methods of each disease and arranged it. In ${\ulcorner}$Wai-Ke-Zheng-Zong${\lrcorner}$, there are 150 external treatment. And we arranged external treatments by each methods. We classified external treatment methods by 8 class. Conclusion is that, ${\ulcorner}$Wai-Ke-Zheng-Zong${\lrcorner}$ has described 122 external diseases. External treatments of ${\ulcorner}$Wai-Ke-Zheng-Zong${\lrcorner}$ had been used to cure 75 disease from the whole disease. External treatments of ${\ulcorner}$Wai-Ke-Zheng-Zong${\lrcorner}$ was more than 150 kinds. And each disease treated by more than on external treatment. External treatment methods of ${\ulcorner}$Wai-Ke-Zheng-Zong${\lrcorner}$ have contained hot compress therapy, fumigation therapy, bathing therapy, application therapy, medication bag therapy, medication plug therapy, medication massotherapy, aroma therapy and so on.

Objectives The purpose of this case study is to report the effect of concurrent administration of Danguieumja-gagambang and external treatments on childhood psoriasis. Methods The subject is a child with psoriasis. This patient was treated with oriental herbal medicine (Danguieumjagagambang) and external treatments. The improvement of the skin condition is observed by Psoriasis Area and Severity Index (PASI) score. Results After the treatment, the symptoms of psoriasis were relieved. PASI score of this child went down from 4.7 to 0. Conclusions This study showed that concurrent administration of Danguieumja-gagambang and external treatments can be an effective choice for psoriasis.

This literature review focuses on external treatments for the throat, as found in the classic Korean text, Hyang-Yak-Jib-Sung-Bang Throat. Sections of the text related to external treatment of throat disorders were reviewed. Examples of frequently used external methods include gargling, application of powder, and brushing of the throat. These methods are still used in modern Korean Medicine treatments for Ear-Nose-Throat (ENT) disorders. This discussion is provided with intention to invigorate the ancient practices of throat treatments, by highlighting benefits and results of the therapeutic protocols described in Hyang-Yak-Jib-Sung-Bang Throat. Discovering new effective herbal medicines and developing more precise external treatments will advance ENT treatment in Korean medicine.

But systemic description is very rare about external treatment of obstertic and gynecologic diseases. Therefore we would like to describe that. We have found out many sentences that have been related to external treatments about complicating childbirth and the puerperium. Comparatively often had been refered diseases are Hard Labor(難産), Dizziness(血暈) and Metroptosis(玉門不斂).

Comparatively often had been refered diseases are Uterine Prolapse(陰脫), Erosion of Vulva(陰瘡), Puritus Vulvae(陰痒), Mass in Abdomen and Coldness of Genitals(陰冷).

Therefore we would like to bring out its sphere of application and detailed method in the oriental medicine classics. 2) Methodologies We have researched external treatment history according to below the procedure. (1) Making a related words list: We have used existing external treatments technical books to make a list. It has been connected with external treatments. It includes not only technical terms, but also general terms. (2) Searching sentence: We have searched sentence that contain terms that related with external treatments. (3) Analysis of related sentence: We have searched and classified sentence by disease. (4) Analysis of external treatment methods. 3) Conclusions From long time ago people have used external treatment to cure various disease. According to the ${\ulcorner}Nei-Jing{\lrcorner}$, hot compress therapy, fumigation therapy and bathing therapy had been used to cure blockage syndrome, muscle disease, carbuncle and cellulitis. Thereafter, a sphere of external treatment had gradually enlarged. (1) After all its sphere had included dermatologic, psychologic, internal, ophthalmic, otolaryngologic, obstetrics, gynecologic, pediatric and surgical diseases. (2) External treatment methods have contained hot compress therapy, fumigation therapy, bathing therapy, application therapy, medication bag therapy, medication plug therapy, medication massotherapy, aroma therapy and so on. (3) Medication types of external treatment have contained ointment, juice, infusion, powder, suppository and so on.
